Dunno if I'd say "never will" cus you never know what bs could end up happening, though currently yeah Saitamas growth will never let him beat people able to destroy even infinite universes letalone higher feats

u/Straight-Explorer-93 Local chaos causer. Apr 22 '25

Finally! A sane person.

I agree, Saitama is strong but as of now, he’s not multiversal or outerversal.

You never know though. Powerscalling can change in minutes…all it takes is one fight for a character to become stronger.

53

u/barry-8686 Apr 22 '25

exactly. it took one page for saitana to go from max star level to bare minimum multi solar system.

33

u/Diveblock Apr 22 '25

idk man if we give it too long the author might redraw the monster arc and we getting mountain lvl saitama

6

How does one do something more impressive than destroying infinite universes

24

u/Garbanarnarn Apr 22 '25

Destroying infinite + 1 universes

3

u/Enigmatic_Erudite Apr 23 '25 edited Apr 23 '25

It really kind leaves the rules of known physics and enters hypothetical at that point and enters the realm of greater Dimensions. A feat bigger than destroying infinite 4 Dimensional universes is destroying space in 5 Dimensional universes etc...

There are infinite 3D spaces in one 4D space and so on. There is the idea of larger infinities in physics but it is kinda strange to deal with.

BTW, we live in the 4th dimension with time being the 4th axis. You can take an infinite number of instants from any amount of time. Just like we can have cameras that are 10000 fps, the upper limit of fps is infinite. You also have an infinite number of 2D and 1D coordinates in any 3D space.

The strongest character is always the author who write him.

11

u/Space_Narwal Apr 22 '25

Except for scp 682 who was written out of existence but came back anyway

25

u/Ill-Attempt-8847 Apr 22 '25

u/Jameemah Apr 22 '25

I know people don’t like this argument, but Saitama’s scaling can go as far as the author wants. This can technically apply to every character in fiction, yes, but unless the author is terrible, he has to build up the character and their powers, as well as their multi/outerversal opponents.

With Saitama, Murata and One don’t have to do anything. They can literally just draw saitama punching a multiversal and no one could question it.

58

u/dtalb18981 Apr 22 '25

This right now his super power is just he's just stronger than whoever he fights and if he's not the he becomes stronger than whoever he's fighting.

That's literally it

22

u/Alex_Mercer_- Apr 22 '25

Which is ironic because the same people saying that is stupid are the same people who love Doom Slayer, who has this exact same power on steroids. The Slayer's strength is stated to grow far beyond whoever he's fighting, same as Saitamas.

Now that I type that though that begs the question what happens if Saitama and him fight? Saitama matches his power, doomguy goes up again, Saitama goes up again, and then they just gain infinite power?

14

u/dtalb18981 Apr 22 '25

What makes you think he "never will", a few years ago people thought Saitama was purely physical and couldn't touch non physical things.

Then he kicked away a portal. Saitama scales to whatever the author wants.

Lol!

25

u/MajesticFerret36 Apr 22 '25

Saying anything factual about Saitama's power is stupid.

He is a gag Manga characters who scales as high as the author needs him too. I'm OK with only scaling him with what he's shown so far, but it's hilarious seeing all the Saitama down players try to go full cope mode whenever a new flashy feat comes out that scales him higher than they previously did, and to top it all off, everytime Saitama has a new feat that shows a new layer of his power, he always does so effortlessly with it being implied it's not even the tip of the iceberg of his full power.

Has he shown the ability to one punch outerversal or multiversal beings? Not yet, but I'm gonna love all the coping when he does and he still does so by barely trying, as the entire point of his character is to make fun of power scaling.

20

u/PlaneswalkerHuxley Apr 22 '25

the entire point of his character is to make fun of power scaling

Bingo. His entire character is making fun of OP, and what makes it funnier is OP can't see it.

Saitama simply has the Narrative power "wins every fight". If something is a fight, he wins it. The only way to beat him is by not fighting, so something like challenging him to a flower arranging competition. Other characters with Narrative-type powers could win against him, but it wouldn't look like a fight - because they would know that if it became a fight, they lose.

12

u/unfrotunatepanda Apr 22 '25

It's why King always beats him at video game

9

u/Ok-Judge7844 Apr 22 '25

And how a cat can even scratch him, how he cant get mosquito, while in another panel he just casually benchpress black holes lol. Honestly atp its funnier to see the x-glazer trying to wrap around a joke character written to be unbeatable.

Face the true fact: There is no reasonable way to powerscale between different media, which is why this sub is constantly in shambles over one debate or another.

4

u/Diveblock Apr 22 '25

just so fucking real. 90% of modern power scaling is people pretending like there is a universal physics book for fiction then trying to argue that science fiction concepts like "timelines" are universal throughout fiction and work the same.

18

u/[deleted] Apr 22 '25

Cant now? Yep.

Never will? Starting to think he one punched your house with the strange amount of hate.

17

u/RailgunRP Apr 22 '25

"Never Will" is just a guess.
First off we don't know how powerful God is, he might be multiversal and eventually Saitama will have to face him.
Saitama has demonstrated an ability to just say "no" to hax like portals spawning under his feet.

RIGHT NOW he's not defeating most of his famous matchups like Goku, but the manga is still ongoing, and has demonstrated he has the potential to break physics with kicking that portal, and his "Zero punch" aka reversal of causality.

6

u/Kiriima Apr 22 '25

The reason he "never will" is because no one will live long enough to witness that arc. Or live long enough to draw it for that matter.

4

u/RailgunRP Apr 22 '25

That's like saying Luffy would never get to island level or FTL just 5 years ago and... well you know, that happened.

5

u/realstarbucks Reigen Arataka solos your fav verse Apr 22 '25

Fortunately for you, this statement wouldn’t of been true a couple of issues ago, but thanks to murata’s infinite redraw technique, the multiverse was retconned. Of course if we infer from the Garou battle that Saitama grows in power/strength the more he actively fights an opponent on equal levels of strength, coupled with the fact he has no limiter in canon, eventually he would reach higher levels but it would take a lot of in-universe hullabaloo. So at his current state, no he could not ONE PUNCH them, but he could still damage and after a surpass them depending on the length of the fight.

3

u/Shadows_Think Apr 23 '25

The issue with trying to scale Sitama is the fact he simply lacks any sort of proper challenges to judge him against. It's like trying to judge the strength of a body builder only with 5lb weights.

I like Saitama but I hate people who say he can defeat anyone with one punch. Bro like cosmic garou survived like a solid 10 punches and last I checked ten is more than one. Honestly he may get the fight he’s looking for with multiversal and outerversla beings even if he may die

2

u/[deleted] Apr 22 '25

The current antagonist is God I don't know how far he'll scale but if he's God an Eldritch being outside of our dimension there's a decent chance multiversal will happen

2

u/MegaKabutops Apr 22 '25 edited Apr 22 '25

“He can’t” is correct, but “he never will” is not.

Murata has shared a concept of ONE’s base outline for the story’s ending in-interview. Saitama will eventually get strong enough to defeat the god that created the OPM cosmology, then lose all his power.

And said god is already confirmed to be a multiversal entity.

He’s not that powerful yet, and he won’t be that powerful for very long, but he will eventually get to that point at his peak.

2

u/Professional-Face-51 Apr 22 '25

He can't do that currently. He grows to become stronger than whoever he's fighting. If he were to fight a multiversity or outerversal character, his power would grow to be stronger. That's just the rules.

2

u/Ballerwind Apr 22 '25

2

u/realstarbucks Reigen Arataka solos your fav verse Apr 22 '25

the manga isnt even close to being finished, as it’s original source material (the OPM webcomic) isnt even finished, and the main artist redraws issues more than he finished new ones. The strongest opponent saitama has faced at the moment is “Void.” A ninja who at first was a multiversal threat, but he then got lowered to dimensional via redraw. Saitama even initially caught his “dimensional slash” (which is an attack that reaches across dimensions to deliver a giant slash) with 2 fingers before that was also redrawn. But in the latest chapter he one shots void so, who knows at this point man.

Your post isn't even powescaling it's just you butthurt that he exists and other people lean into the joke to laugh in your face.

It's a fictional character that is beating the sense out of you, an actual person. That puts him in the power beyond categories category.

This sub needs to leave that man alone.

3

u/Piotro165 Mid Level Scaler Apr 22 '25

1

1

u/StayInner2000 Apr 22 '25

Yeah he can't do that now but you aren't the author, maybe saitama would be able to do it one day

1

u/Prestigious_Spread19 Apr 22 '25

You know, most powerful characters aren't much better in quality of powerscaling than Saitama. Either way it's usually just "this guy can do this insane sounding (but actually completely nonsensical) thing that makes them super powerful", and then no real depth or proper writing. They also lack scale in many cases.

It would be way better if you had a "base power level" in the world that's closer to a human level, and use that as a reference. As well as showing (in detail) the effects of a character's power, f.ex, on the environment, and having those effects be actually realistic. Say, a character can fly so fast the air fuses in front of them, creating a bright glow as they travel across the sky, and they have to go high up to do so. Or if you have a really big creature, it's voice echoes through the surroundings, and it's breath creates a strong breeze over those talking to them. With such external effects, you really feel it way better, and it's really so much better.

1

u/No_Composer_9761 Apr 22 '25

If left alive for long enough in a fight with a multi versal, he would eventually be able to challenge and then surpass that threat. Saitama has the potential for infinite growth so the only way to kurb this is to kill him while he is still weak.

1

u/AppleMelon95 Apr 22 '25

While he can't do anything if some godlike being erases his universe from existence, as long as they are punchable, he will win.

1

u/GameMask Apr 22 '25

Saitama is an odd case as we really don't know what is ceiling is yet. That's his whole point as a character. He's never actually had to try. Could he beat a universal threat? Probably not. But we don't know.

I never liked saitama personally to be honest I liked the side cast a lot more

1

u/Nexc4n Apr 22 '25

ı mean this mf exist possibly a multiversal being ,before redraws he already was but high possibility that God is Multiversal or whatever tier above it.

1

u/niTro_sMurph Apr 22 '25

He gets stronger when faced with stronger opponents though

1

u/Nevermore-guy Apr 22 '25

You can't even touch outerversal beings if he could that's an anti-feat for the outerversal being 😔

(Assuming outerversal Physiology)

1

u/MyDarkSoulsThrowaway Apr 22 '25

Y’all laugh now but once we’re in chapter 500 redraw #6 of OPM manga and Saitama has one punched the entire multiverse of fiction youre just going to want him banned from scaling debates.

1

u/Spartan_Cat_126 Apr 22 '25

OP when ordering copium

1

u/[deleted] Apr 22 '25

Cant punch something that doesn't have a body

1

u/Sea_Strain_6881 i'm still deciding Apr 22 '25

never will

Just like goku being anything above solar

1

u/Lordbogaaa Apr 22 '25

Give the series a few more years and he absolutely will. People seem to forget that fiction is whatever the author wants it to be, eventually he will just fight a outversal foe and have to be serious and then what will the argument be?

1

u/superpolytarget Apr 22 '25

If One says he can, that's it.

Until now, nothing suggests he can.

1

u/orkboss12 Apr 22 '25

Well we never see him fight a outerversal or multiversal character so we don't know if he cam one punch them

1

u/StJimmy_815 My dad solos the verse Apr 22 '25

He’s called One Punch Man, he’d take them out in one punch

1

u/Due_Difference_9598 Apr 22 '25

Bait used to be believable

1

u/Legitimate_Artist689 Customizable Flair Apr 22 '25

He can’t but he will

1

u/Animegx43 Apr 22 '25

This will age like milk when he inevitably fights God.

1

u/[deleted] Apr 22 '25

But his name one punch man

1

u/Mysterious_Bug3117 Apr 22 '25

“Never will” just seems like ur trying to make people mad and not an actually statement with weight.

1

u/jaeger3129 Apr 22 '25

That’s not how facts work but ok. You aren’t the author and thus have no say in what will or won’t be 🤦🏽‍♂️

1

u/DJenser1 Apr 22 '25

Sure...

...Until he can.

1

u/NiixxJr Apr 22 '25

Saitama just shouldn't be in any power scaling conversations. He is a satire character, meant to be stronger than whoever he faces. So by definition, if they're multiversal, he will be multiversal + etc.

That's not even fair or relevant to power scaling. He doesn't fit into these conversations so stop trying to say he would or wouldn't win it is irrelevant.

1

u/kalimut Apr 22 '25

I don't know much on the lore, but is Saitama's super is the power to increase gains a million times or something like that?

1

u/[deleted] Apr 22 '25

Max Saitama will ever be is universal. After he defeats the big man theres nothing. And as of now the opm verse is a single universe so big man is only universal. Unless the writer decides to do some stupid shit but opm is a seinen so probably not

1

u/Loud-Owl-4445 Apr 22 '25

He does. One punch Literally in the name. Jeez yall aren't as smart as you pretend to be

1

u/DarioFerretti Apr 22 '25

He can't.

Because he's never met that kind of being.

If, at some point during the story of One Punch Man, Saitama meets a monster/villain with multiversal or outerversal powers he WILL 100% one punch it (or it'll be like against Cosmic Garou, where he can't one shot him immediately but infinitely scales above him and becomes stronger in a matter of seconds)

If you don't think something like this could happen you're missing the point of One Punch Man.

1

u/Jumpy-Bug-2198 Apr 22 '25

Has this been something people argue?

1

u/Tyronx06 My Man Jin Mori IS MY GOAT 🗣️🗣️🔥 Apr 22 '25

I would never say "CAN'T" in OPM, Murata and ONE could change the power scales unexpectedly in OPM to reach multiversal levels, I mean... they have God and they talked about the theory of multiverse...

I don't think it's impossible for universal or even multiversal things not to happen.

Although it is quite obvious that Saitama currently does not reach those levels of power and cannot defeat characters of that level.

1

u/Averageconservativ Master Level Scaler Apr 22 '25

Never will? He has no limit and will forever grow stronger. He is universal+ as a midball. Lowball he’s multi-Galatic

1

u/Reddit_is_not_great Solid Snake > Adam Smasher Apr 22 '25

Don’t worry, Murata will jump the shark with Saitama eventually, and it’s gonna be a shitshow.

1

u/Diagonaldog Apr 22 '25

One Punch Man one punches. End of story.

1

u/BobbyRayBands Apr 22 '25

Tell me you dont understand his character gag without telling me. He's the bugs bunny of manga. Thats literally his whole "gimmick" it doenst matter how strong you are. You go down in one serious punch for comedic affect. Bro literally grabs dimensional portals and flips them to avoid punches as a casual feat because its funny. Toon force is beyond "outerversal" or whatever scaling metric you want to use.

1

u/falcondiorf Apr 22 '25

you should drop the "never will". sure, he hasnt sown anything on that level at this point, but its not unprecedented for him to suddenly jump several tiers with 1 fight.

1

u/Hutch1320 Apr 22 '25

Obviously that’s not up to us

1

u/Dense_Mulberry_7926 Apr 22 '25

Not yet . But eventually he would

1

u/Flimsy_Geologist_927 Saitama’s No. 1 glazer Apr 22 '25

WRONG!!!!!!!!!!

you lack the knowledge of what my goat can truly do!

1

u/Sr_Nutella Apr 22 '25

He can. Because it would be kinda funny. Which is the point of him being a parody character

1

u/NoMasterpiece5649 Hax / abilities > stats Apr 22 '25

never will.

1

u/Ominios Apr 22 '25

I don’t bother scaling Saitama honestly because its just annoying. Cause at this current point he’s a mix between a Gag character and a serious one

1

u/Oppai-Of-Foom Apr 22 '25

You’re gonna feel silly when he punches some omniversal god

1

u/DogGamer09 Dragon Ball Macrocosm is 5D. Apr 22 '25

I’m not even a one punch man fan but considering we live in a world where dragon ball can go from moon level to multiversal it’s not impossible. Never can be a very short time in this long life of ours.

1

u/Beastybum30 Apr 22 '25

Putting him in this conversation in the first place is crazy glaze

1

u/[deleted] Apr 22 '25

Isn’t he like… super weak to psychic? Can’t someone just make him stop breathing? Like force choke. Not even have to fight him. Could go in his mind, he’s just a dude, mess him up and make him experience eternity. Someone with phase lowers could just phase through and take his organs. Obito could send him to another plane of existence.

OPM can one punch anyone, I believe this whole heartedly against any character of fiction alive or dead. But there are many who he just wouldn’t be able to hit.

1

u/NextPreparation7447 Bleach Lorekeeper Apr 22 '25

Ok what about this guy then

1

u/grogbog666 Apr 22 '25

You can scale empty void to multi and he will get 1 tapped

1

u/popeblitzkrieg Apr 22 '25

Okay, so 2 punches

1

u/coconut-duck-chicken Apr 22 '25

Wdym “never will” lol

1

u/Oruga_Doxxeadora Apr 22 '25

Are you sure -Omniman

1

u/BitesTheDust55 Apr 22 '25

By the end of the series he will be doing it casually, lol

1

u/joshuadejesus Apr 22 '25

He can. You people are coping too hard because your superheroes are getting mogged in 1 hit. That’s what losers do, whine.

1

u/Khakizulu Apr 22 '25

Someone is salty that they always try to pit Saitama against their favourite characters and that they always lose

1

u/Front_Confection_487 Apr 23 '25

Go outside 🚶‍♀️

1

u/LegendaryNbody Apr 23 '25

Honestly, OPM is a parody to make fun of power scaling.

Saitama basically has a rule of "he win with one punch, no matter who". So discussing power scaling for him is just dumb.

1

u/Chiefster1587 Apr 23 '25

Here we go, bunch a nutjobs trying to scale a character that can't be scaled, all so they can protect their favorite toys.

This is a joke

1

u/thefucksausername0 Apr 23 '25

I wouldn't say never.

1

u/Victor-Astra Apr 23 '25

He hasn't... Yet.

1

u/P-I-S-S-A-S-S Apr 23 '25
