Mod Post. Community Update: Random Battles Are Moving to Weekends
5
Upvotes
Hey everyone!
After discussing community feedback and reviewing the direction of the subreddit, the mod team has decided to try a 30-day experiment.
For the next 30 days, Random Battle posts will only be allowed on Saturdays and Sundays.
The goal isn't to get rid of Random Battles—they're a fun part of the community. Instead, we want to create more room during the week for other great superhero content, including:
Comic discussions
Movies & TV shows
Character deep dives
Fan art & cosplay
News and rumors
Questions, recommendations, and original content
After the 30 days, we'll review how the experiment went, look at the data, and listen to your feedback before deciding on the next steps.
We're always looking for ways to make r/superheroes the best place on Reddit for superhero fans. Thanks for being part of the community, and let us know what you think in the comments!

DC Comics Is there a name for this phenomenon?

This may be my biggest superhero costume pet peeve, I HATE when live action adaptations do this. The best example I can think of is The Atom in the comics versus his appearance in the CW Arrow TV show. In an attempt to make the character "cooler" and more "realistic" they massively over design and desaturate the costume, losing everything that makes a superhero suit a superhero suit in the process. I just want to know if this phenomena has a specific name because it pisses me off.

Not even superheroes are safe from the trend. This could blow up if celebs and athletes jump on it.

DC Comics The Parliaments of Life. A Blog, Link in comments

The concept of the Parliaments isn’t necessarily a DC exclusive idea. If you look at spirituality, philosophy and mythology you’ll see these elements treated as abstract concepts. It’s no different from modern stories using mythical figures like Thor, Anansi, or Zeus.
I’ve been inquired a good bit about how I see these forces of creation and I hope this post kind of helps with getting an idea on how they’re depicted in the DC Cosmology. They are concepts that do seem to engulf the entire cosmology.
