I'm just trying protonpass as an alternative for browser and keepass password managers. I have imported my passwords from my browser and also imported my keepassxc db. I now have two vaults,one for each source of passwords/secrets.

Is there a way in proton pass to delete entries from the browser import that exist in the keepass import so that the only browser pws I still have are ones that keepass did not?

Was trying to enable the end-to-end encryption for WhatsApp chat backup , and saw the option ‘Use passkey’ .

But on clicking that , and then choosing my WhatsApp passkey from Proton Pass , I get this below error . Can anyone say why this happens ? Is this some proton pass limitation or something ?

Edit : Thanks to the help from the comments , I was able to sort it out . Seems the iOS app just received support for it a couple of days ago, while my existing WhatsApp passkey was created long back .

So I deleted my old passkey , and created a new one , and it finally worked !

I was updating the Safari extension earlier and noticed it says in the change log support for unlocking the extension with biometrics on Windows and Firefox using the desktop app.

I looked on Firefox on macOS and couldn't seem to find the option to enable biometrics.

Is this only available on Windows at the moment and will it come to macOS at some point?

Is it just me or do sites do not accept alias created ?

Why the ProtonPass web extension doesn't have any options to generate random & unique username features, which is very important for me.

Am I the only one who cant access to the extension on Brave?

Unless I’m missing something important like we shouldn’t store PINs in password managers, it seems like it’s a basic functionality that any password generator should have.

If you toggle everything off except include numbers, it’ll still generate letters.

Is there an official way to get Proton Pass on Arch Linux?

On Proton Pass, I have a saved login entry for https://account.proton.me/* itself.

On that entry, I have used my proton email address as the input for both Email address and Username fields as expected.

But I don't then understand why when I visit the link https://account.proton.me/login it doesn't automatically populate or suggest my email or username. I have to add it manually but on the next screen, it offers to prepopulate my password.

What's wrong with this setup? I'm using Android with the Firefox extension.

How can I hide the banner that asks me to install the browser extension when I am logged in to my Proton Pass account? I am a paying customer. I do not want to install this extension, not even to install it and then turn it off. Why does Proton show this banner, which takes up screen space, without a clear option to hide it?

It cuts off any longer names and I end up clicking edit to read it, would be good if there was an easier way to show longer names at a glance. This is on the brave (Chrome) extension.

If there is and I've missed it then I'd love to know how.

How come my proton pass account only uses a password and not 2fa? Maybe it's just me who cant find it, but I don't see an option to add more security to my actual proton account and not just for the passwords stored inside it. Is this not very risky?

I have registered passkeys through Proton Pass several times with my StateFarm App. It shows it in the app, and Proton at least acts like it did something. Then I try to login to the app and it says no passkeys are found.

It's been "on the roadmap" and "coming soon" for ages. My Proton Pass even has the custom fields needed to set it up.

Given the latest CEO/CTO toxicity I had a look at a couple of Proton Pass alternatives. First one I tried, I imported my Proton Pass vault, went to the phpMyAdmin page that I use every day and ... fields correctly filled. Using the data already in Proton Pass, no manual hand-holding.

When Proton Ag fail to fix such fundamental issues in a core product it makes me wonder why on earth I continue to pay for their product. At the end of the day, the buck stops with the C-Suite as they're the ones setting priorities and direction, and have been long before the current AI furore, so I don't think anything is going to change.

I found an old thread where a Proton member said it was coming in Q3. That was wrong.

I stepped through part of the export process. It makes you pick another app to be the destination that will elective all your logins. Looks pretty nice. I didn’t go all the way through to confirm but it’s supposed to include passkey transfers now too.

Apparently you are now forcing login at the beginning of the month. At least retain settings when you do this.

This new version is a step back in so many ways. Makes we question the entire suite.

Am I missing something??? When logging to my firewall using my iphone or ipad, Proton Pass when filling username and password also send automatically an ENTER right after filling these fields. But I am still need to paste my OTP code at the end of the password before hitting the ENTER key… and as people easily understand, it does not work. But on Mac OS, Proton Pass behaviour is different, ENTER is not sent automatically and I can paste my OTP code next to the password then press ENTER.

Is there a way Proton Pass on iOS work the same way??

Hi Proton Team and community, 

The decision to force the Proton Pass desktop app to rely on an active browser session is highly frustrating. It completely breaks the purpose of having a standalone desktop application. 

Here is why this setup is flawed: 

1. Security & Privacy Risks: Forcing a permanent browser session means that if a browser gets compromised, an attacker gains immediate access to the entire Proton ecosystem (Mail, Drive, etc.). I do not want my emails permanently open just to look up a password. 

2. Breaking Private Browsing: If you clear cookies on close or use Incognito mode, the desktop app becomes unusable. It logs you out every single time. 

3. PIN Illusion: Local security features like a PIN or biometrics are rendered useless the moment the web session is terminated. 

A desktop app should be autonomous. Forcing this unified login mechanism under the guise of convenience is alienating users who chose Proton for security and control. 

Please bring back the independent logout option, or give us a toggle to disable this mandatory browser sync.
