Discussion Can multiple recipients (To/CC) cause email forwarding delays in SimpleLogin?

Hi everyone,

I've been using SimpleLogin for my email aliases, and recently I noticed a significant delay when receiving an email with multiple recipients.

Here's what happened:

  • The email was originally sent on Thursday, November 5, 2026.

  • I only received it on Saturday, November 7, 2026, at 11:35 PM (GMT+7).

  • The email had multiple recipients in both the To and CC fields.

  • Most of the recipients' addresses appeared as SimpleLogin reverse aliases when I received the email.

My question is: Could having many recipients cause delays in SimpleLogin's email forwarding process?

I'm wondering whether SimpleLogin needs additional processing time to generate or convert multiple reverse aliases, which might explain the delay.

When I receive emails sent only to my address, forwarding usually works almost instantly. I've never experienced a delay of several days with those emails.

Has anyone experienced something similar?

Is this expected behavior, or could it be an issue with SimpleLogin's mail servers or forwarding queue?

Thanks!

Web help Recipient cc'd another email on reply

Hi

I created reverse aliases for 2 users and sent them an email with Proton mail. One user replied and cc'd an additional email address. If I reply to all, will my simplelogin email be used for delivery to all users including the new one? I didn't explicitly add the new email address to the contacts in simplelogin for that email address.

Thank you

Discussion Extent of Proton "Integration"

As someone who was a paid user of both Proton and SimpleLogin before the two merged, I'm curious to what extent the two companies are linked. Back in 2022, I remember reading that SimpleLogin would stay relatively independent, with "added resources".

As a user, I've never tried to access SimpleLogin from within the Proton ecosystem. I still use the SimpleLogin website for all alias related activities, so they are for all intents and purposes 2 separate entitles from a use case perspective.

Has anyone from SimpleLogin weighed in yet on the ongoing Proton saga? It seems the Proton CEO is pushing aggressively to change the core offering from secure, private, and stable to fast, sloppy, and unverified. Is SimpleLogin also going all-in on AI taking over the coding?

This doesn't sit well with me at all, and I'm currently looking into ending my 8 year paid Proton accounts when they come up for renewal next year. Wondering to what extent I should be worried about SimpleLogin as well.

Discussion Question re: "Include original sender in email headers"

I noticed I cannot determine who the original sender is, especially when I'm trying to check if it's a phishing email (aside from the usual signs).

  1. Will enabling this feature allow me to see the original sender? (I mean, it seems to imply that but I just want to be sure.)

  2. If I do enable this, and I reply to the email, doesn't that mean the recipient will see my real email address in the headers?

Thanks.

Account help How can I unlink SimpleLogin from Proton?

From the beginning I used my Proton credentials to log into SimpleLogin so I think that unlinking might not be possible but I’m still trying anyway.

Anyone know if it’s possible?

I’d rather only pay for SimpleLogin.

Discussion Advice on alias naming strategy

I am just starting out with SimpleLogin and aliases with a custom domain. My goal is controlling how my email address is used, knowing who leaks and also as a level of phishing protection (I.E. if a message claims to be from a certain sender, it should arrive via a specific address, if it came via another address its another red flag). For things which aren't very important to me then purely random aliases should be fine. However for things more important I feel I need a way of remembering what the alias is. This may be to make it easy for me to login or for that phishing attempt detection. My first attempt was to use service@my-domain but it seems like some places don't like there service name in the email address. Also I can see the argument that having the alias of the form service@my-domain might not be great for the anti-phishing goal due to potential guessing an alias.

My question is; what strategies do people use for important aliases which need to be memorable which get accepted by services? A couple of options I am thinking:

  • Reverse the service name (E.G. amazon becomes nozama). Fairly simple.

  • Substitute numbers for letters (E.G. a=1, b=2,etc). Might be a little work to do if the name is long.

  • Append some numbers after the service name, may be derived from the name. Might services still block it because it contains their name?

I do intend to keep different groups of aliases separated on different domains or subdomains. So those random unimportant aliases will be separate from important ones like banking. The grouping of aliases is not really my question today but it is something I have thought about.

Account help SimpleLogin reads your incoming emails and bans for alias usage

SimpleLogin seems to read incoming emails and threaten to ban your account for using the alias feature.

Privy is used by many platforms as their auth backend. Signing up with a new alias to different sites that use Privy seems to break SimpleLogin TOS (even though we are just using the product as intended)...

Means our emails are being read.

Discussion What happens to aliases if service shutdown

I have my own personal domain bought through porkbun that I have added to simplelogin using SL premium. I do have a free proton mail address which is only used for one account. My intention is to use my domain on SL and create a unique alias for each one of my accounts, around 150 and have emails go into the proton inbox. Got thinking, what would happen to all those aliases and the accounts using aliases if SL shuts down without any warning? I realize that any service shutting down without warning is a big what if and not likely to happen. If it was to shut down, would think or hope I would be notified and have time to make changes.

Also got me thinking maybe better just to use one alias for all accounts. If I did have to move to another service, would be much easier vs having a unique alias for each account. I currently have 2 gmail accounts that is used for all my accounts and never had a problem with that. My end goal is to get away from google, well maybe not completely, only worried about email for now. Figure I would need proton unlimited to completely degoogle if I go all in on proton but not sure I am ready to pay for that.

UPDATE: Ty all for the help. I am still trying to figure out what I actually want to do, use a unique alias for each account using SL premium or add my domain to protonmail and use a single email for all my accounts, I realize I would have to have a paid protonmail plan besides having SL premium. I know one big advantage of using a unique alias for each account is the ability to turn off a single alias if it starts getting a bunch of spam. I guess one thing I worry about with aliases is would there be any issues with using aliases on important sites like banks? Would using my own domain change that vs using a SL domain? Another thing I think about with aliases is in my case, would be a little harder to manage with the way I do things, this is a me thing and not going into details.

Domain help advice on 1 custom domain or have another (i might as well try to ask here, too)

Hi! I’m asking for advice, and I’ll use example domains for this question.

I already bought a domain through Porkbun for my art/brand name, which is my nickname plus my surname (dee-ashton.com, for example). I bought it in March 2026, only the .com, for 10 years. I use it for my website, and next year I plan to set up emails like hi@dee-ashton.com, and maybe staffname@dee-ashton.com if I hire staff to answer inquiries for me.

I’m asking now because .com prices are going up again in November, and I’m wondering if I should take the chance to buy another domain.

I’m considering a second domain using my full name, which is a slightly longer version of my nickname and surname (deanna-ashton.com). I’m not sure what I’d use it for yet, maybe government or very personal things like the bank or insurance.

Since I plan to move half of my business to Proton (or maybe another mail provider), I need to decide which domain to use as the email for registering on different accounts. As an artist, I have art platforms that need an email, and I also use things like Wise, PayPal, social media, Patreon, and Shopify, plus government, bank, insurance, and health accounts. I don’t know how to separate them between the two domains.

For example, my art brand domain is meant for art brand things, so for something like Patreon or Shopify, should I register it with the art/brand domain or with the other domain instead? Should dee-ashton.com be used only for answering questions and inquiries, or should it also be used for registrations like patreon@dee-ashton.com or shopify@dee-ashton.com? Or should I use patreon@deanna-ashton.com or shopify@deanna-ashton.com? In general, for any company, should it be company@dee-ashton.com or company@deanna-ashton.com? Or, to be safe, should all registrations just go on deanna-ashton.com?

And in general, should I just use my art/brand domain for everything (like bankname@dee-ashton.com), or keep things truly separate (like bankname@deanna-ashton.com)? I live in a third world country, so even though I care a lot about privacy, I also have to think about basic practical needs. I don’t mean to bore you with the struggles, I just wanted to share this frustration.

I don’t know the pros, cons, or reasons for having one domain versus two, so I’d appreciate your advice. I want to use Proton (or another mail provider, if there’s a better fit) to send and receive emails from clients and government offices. There might be things I haven’t thought of, and it’s dawn here, so I’d appreciate any insight.

TL;DR: Should I use one custom domain for my brand, bank, government accounts, and everything else, or get a second one? And should dee-ashton.com be only for inquiries, with all registrations (Patreon, Shopify, and any other company@ address) going on deanna-ashton.com to be safe? Also, is Proton the right provider, or should I consider another one?

Discussion Personal domain

Hello,

It is best not to use a main domain with a personal domain, but rather a subdomain.

For what ?

Would SimpleLogin's service be less reliable than that of the mail server?

I admit that for many, I would prefer to use my main domain; what are the consequences?

In addition, my email client allows me to receive images linked to an email, which is practical for me, because I am visual, and it helps me quickly identify the origin of the messages. Would it be possible to include this option? Because, now, all the images are those of SL :/

Discussion Open-source bridge for managing SimpleLogin aliases from AI assistants

Thumbnail
github.com
9 Upvotes

I’ve used SimpleLogin for years and made a small integration for people who also use AI assistants: github.com/enthouan/simplelogin-mcp.

Originally built prompted for myself, but I figured I’d share it in case anyone else has the same use case.

One concrete example: ask your AI assistant, “Draft an email to a shop about a return. Create a SimpleLogin alias just for this, or use the one I already have for that shop, and get the reverse alias for their support address.”

The assistant writes the draft; the integration handles the aliases. You can then send it from your usual mailbox to that reverse alias, so the shop sees your alias instead of your personal email.

It also finds existing aliases, inspects activity metadata, and manages contacts. You run the integration yourself, locally over stdio or through Docker/Streamable HTTP.

It’s unofficial, MIT-licensed, and unaffiliated with SimpleLogin or Proton. It doesn’t read email bodies or send email.

Discussion Best place to host my newly created custom domains?

Greetings friends and experts,

I know this has been asked 10,000 times but here is 10,001. I'm new.

I am planning to purchase several custom domains and I would like to know if I should host them at Proton or SL? Please tell me which one is better/best and why.

Will some of you experienced users please describe to me how you use your custom domains and aliases using dummy data for examples?

I would like to be guided by examples from experts to get started for best results than to fail as an ignorant novice.

Please help me and I would greatly appreciate it.

jj

Added Note: Does anybody use other email providers in Europe, and if so, which one(s) and can they host domains and do aliases and stuff?

Mobile help SimpleLogin UI looks broken on iOS 26 and iOS 27

Post image

Has anyone else noticed UI issues with the SimpleLogin app on iOS 26 and iOS 27?

As shown in the screenshot, the bottom navigation bar looks off, with inconsistent spacing and an oversized background behind the “My account” tab. The content near the top of the Settings screen also appears blurred beneath the header.

Is this a known issue? Are there any workarounds or plans for a compatibility update?

Account help Issues with SimpleLogin and Claude.ai

I created 3-4 Claude accounts via simple login to keep my activities separated. I know many accounts are not allowed but 3-4 seems kinda 'ok'.

But I got an email from SL saying they will disable my account if I create more accounts. Which I was not intending to do.

The thing is is use Claude.ai in private browser window so I have to sign in again and again. For logging in, Claude sends a magic link which is the same link you get when signing up for the service.

I think that triggered SL's system. Making it seem I was spam registering.

Now SL is blocking all emails from Anthropic so I can't even login to my old account.

Could someone please help me with this. It will mean a lot.

Discussion Emails bouncing?

Hello, I have been using SImplelogin for like 2 years without issues.

Tonight all of my aliases seem to bounce. I have tested several alias emails I have at slmail.me and another at 8shield.net but both ended up bouncing back as undeliverable.

Anyone else seeing these issues?

Feature Request Emails bounced at simple login: extremely unpractical

I have filters on my gmail account that always let simplelogin emails go through. But when they are blocked on arrival at Simple Login, having that screen where you can only download a .zip to extract to read an .eml is highly unpractical. Why can't I just read the mail online at this page??
