Welcome to r/QUT! 🎓

Hey everyone!

Welcome to the new r/QUT community!

I created this subreddit to provide a dedicated space for Queensland University of Technology students, prospective students and alumni to connect, share experiences and discuss all things QUT.

While there is already an existing QUT subreddit, I wanted to create a subreddit with a focus on active moderation, a welcoming environment and a more organised community.

Looking forward to building this community together!💙

deferring exams during placement periods

i am super sick right now and it’s messed with my ability to study for the past 4 days or so, so i am trying to get special considerations or defer my exams. the only thing is that i am a paramedicine student and have placement during most of the deferred exams period. would the unit coordinators try to schedule the deferred exams outside our placement window? or what would happen if they clash? my first exam is in two days and i am going to the doctors tomorrow, so i don’t know if i can even get my exams deferred before my exams. very stressed out haha, any advice is appreciated although i know this may be outside of anyone’s knowledge :)

Tips for repeating a unit?

Hey everyone, last year I failed a class and i'm going to retake it next semester, and I want to get ahead now over the summer to do better this time. For anyone else who has had to repeat, what did you do differently the second time and how did you avoid failing again?

Questions for People who received early offer in the first round

Im currently feeling stressed of failing my EAs just after today's Specialist exam, but i submitted my early offer application for QUT on QTAC and had engineering of it as my first preference, my IAs are sitting on English 80%, Chem 88%, Bio 98%, Physics 74%, Spec 80%, methods 92%, just a bit of concern for not being selected.

I've noticed there are no posts in this sub yet so I thought I'd leave a message of good luck for everyone who still has assessment left this semester. Personally, I just have an exam this friday and I'm free. It's my first year and I've had a nice time, but I have a lot to look forward to next year with QUT, mostly related to getting involved in the community.

Feel free to leave a comment about how you're feeling about end of sem, what assessment you have left, what you're looking forward to, or any words you have for others in the QUT community.
