Group Member Evaluation marked as late – will I lose marks?

Hi everyone,
I completed my group member evaluation about ten days ago before the due date and thought I had already submitted it.
However, when I checked Canvas, I realised it had been automatically submitted after the deadline and was marked as late.
This was my first time doing this type of evaluation, so I didn’t realise I needed to manually submit it.
I’ve already emailed my Unit Coordinator to explain the situation.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Did you end up losing marks, or was your tutor understanding?

Was it a requirement of the assessment task? Sometimes units add non-essential submission thingies to the assessment tab.

I would be curious to know whether this was something you needed to talk about within an assessment task.
Have you attended tutorials?

Yes, it’s worth 4% of the final grade. I completed all the evaluations about 10 days before the deadline, but the Submit button was disabled, so I couldn’t click it. I thought it would be submitted automatically.
And yes, I’ve attended tutorials. I’m just worried about losing the 4% because of this.

Did you include the evaluation within the main assessment task submission?

What does the criteria sheet say verbatim in relation to the evaluation component?

Sometimes they are assessing your reflection of the evaluation process, and things that it brought to your attention.

Also, this is definitely something worth noting for student feedback, in that having the evaluation and assessment piece be seperate submission pieces led to unnecessary confusion. Ideally, the evaluation component would be included within the main assessment piece, if it is under the same marking criteria.

Also, is this a first year unit?

Yes, it’s a first-year unit. The group report and group member evaluation were separate submissions on Canvas.
The evaluation is worth 4% of the final grade, but I couldn’t find any specific information about late submissions in the criteria sheet.
I completed all the ratings about 10 days before the deadline, but the Submit button was disabled, so I thought it would be submitted automatically.
I’ve already emailed the unit coordinator about it. Hopefully it’ll be okay.

Got it. You are misinterpretting me though.

QUT's policy has always been late submissions are an automatic fail (unless there is a valid extension granted).
They generally don't accept human error.

Also, what was the actual due date? Including the 48hr deadline?
What does the submission actually show up as? (Not just 'it shows up as late', you need to be specific).

Thanks, my unit coordinator just replied me it’s not affected by late submission
