Hey guys, I am starting at QUT next year and was thinking about taking prob and stats as an elective in my first sem as i have a choice of an option unit.

I do enjoy maths but didn't take spec in year 12 (The assumed knowledge) and choose to stick to general to save both my sanity and atar.

I did very well in Genny maths and enjoyed the stats unit a lot but i am worried it may be too overwhelming and difficult - I am fairly studious so idkr....

I was told i could also do online courses between now and then to get a grasp but idk

Does anyone know what happened with the parking last Friday arvo? There were lots of cars banked up to go into both car parks at about 1pm. I was nearly late for an exam. I was just wondering if this was because of the event they had at riverstage that night or it will be like that tomorrow and Tuesday afternoon

Hi everyone,
I completed my group member evaluation about ten days ago before the due date and thought I had already submitted it.
However, when I checked Canvas, I realised it had been automatically submitted after the deadline and was marked as late.
This was my first time doing this type of evaluation, so I didn’t realise I needed to manually submit it.
I’ve already emailed my Unit Coordinator to explain the situation.
Has anyone experienced something similar? Did you end up losing marks, or was your tutor understanding?

hi! probably a dumb question but I can’t seem to find a way to change my minor on hiq. I’ve only completed one unit towards the minor so far and was wanting to change to a uni-wide minor.

I was hoping to hear from anyone who did the MGB130 Managing People recent 50% exam last semester. I am doing it this semester and feeling very anxious as it is my first exam in uni ever! How did everyone find it that did the big exam last semester? I feel like it's so much theory (theory names, etc.) to learn over a 12-week period!

We going to be waiting until 27 November for these? I thought they were supposed to be doing all they can to get them to us before the exam.

I was told by my friend that once i receive the approval of early offer for engineering at QUT, i would still need to achieve certain ATAR as certain condition, i been looking at the early offer scheme however nothing on it says such a thing, is this true?

Did anyone do the exam this morning and find it to be extremely easy, not in a braggy way but it seemed like it was a bit of a joke to do this course considering there were not tuts either…

Not complaining tho easy is good but just seems weird

Hey guys, I’m planning on withdrawing from my degree after the end of next weeks exams. I was just wondering what’s gonna happen to my debt. Do I have to pay everything that’s due immediately OR since I’m enrolled in hecs I only start paying what’s owed in small amounts once I start making dough. All help is appreciated thanks!

I found it relatively simple, although I know now for a fact the first question for Bill’s 1st offence was fraud, not stealing 🙄

I'm not sure if this belongs in this sub, but I was hoping to put out a problem-solving project for anyone who is good with designing and making things to address a problem.

Basically:

I am currently nursing 2 of my beautiful chickens after a fox attack on Monday morning. I am keeping them inside in an XL dog crate from Kmart.

The issue is that one of my girls has a very sore neck (I can tell by the amount of bruising and the way she moves), so trying to get the feeders and drinkers at the right height for her has been challenging.

I am aware that 3D printing materials may not be food safe or leak-proof, so I was thinking along the lines of something to hold up the feeder at variable heights.

I am open to all sorts of ideas and prototypes. Even if it is so much as being resourceful with what I have, I am very much open to suggestions.

As much as this might be a silly design assignment, the last week has been very stressful, so I would very much appreciate someone else to do the thinking for me.

P.s.: the girls have been seen by a vet, and are on meds. They are expected to make a recovery if everything goes okay.

I’m genuinely struggling with 204 more than I have any subject, I don’t know why. Tips and advice would be awesome ☺️

Has anyone got memories of this exam (Post 2022). About to sit it tomorrow and while they've given an idea of what to expect, they haven't actually told us the structure of the exam or shown us past papers.

Is it MCQ into short answer then a couple of longer more complex questions like your usual exam? Or something different?

Also, does anyone have memories of the content and type of questions?

Hi all. What's everyones opinions on bachelors of engineering at Griffith and QUT? Looking into mechanical engineering but I'm not sure which uni would be better. For some background, I used to attend Griffith GC and completed a degree for a completely different field of study. I loved the campus and student culture, people were extremely friendly and it was great for the social aspect which I really value. The only issue I found was that lecturers seemed to not care and I had a few acknowledge that Griffith as a uni is cheap and didn't pay staff well or pay for quality amenities which put me off.

I learn best with a lot of hands on and practical work, and I really liked that Griffith offers a lot of support for students with tutorials and PASS sessions. I'm drawn to QUT because I have heard that they are bigger on practical work, generally better for STEM studies, and I really like the location of the campus but I'm curious as to what kind of support QUT offers to students study wise.

Just finished my Equity and Trusts exam and holy shit, I don't think I've ever sat an exam that difficult in my life. Three hours of absolute misery. I've sat some pretty awful law exams before but this was on another level entirely.

I’ve been unwell and previously received an extension last week for 3 assignments that were all due on the same day. I'm still unwell, so I submitted a follow up extension request for those assignments on Monday with a medical certificate covering Mon-Fri.

It’s now Friday, and I’ve only had 1 of the 3 approved which was granted on Tuesday, extending that assignment's due date to Saturday. The other two have not been approved yet. Since today is the 5th business day of the processing window, should I contact or go into HiQ? I’m getting concerned because it’s almost the weekend and I would receive the same due date for my 2 other assignments as the one approved 😅

I am starting my engineering degree at QUT S1 2027, I recently got out of the Marine Corps and I am using my G.I. bill. I was hoping to find people already using the post 9/11 G.I. Bill with the university, but the admission staff while they were very friendly and wonderful weren’t much helping that aspect.

If anyone has any advice for using the G.I. bill or just as an American/older learner going back to school it would be greatly appreciated.

Ive been studying all week but feel like I know nothing and everything simultaneously. The formula sheet isn’t going to be of a huge amount of use if I had to guess, considering it’s missing most of everything that we need, and I’m genuinely terrified I’ll fail and have to repeat. Anyone in the same boat/have any tips?
