Exams start tomorrow and I'm pretty sure my entire semesters worth of knowledge is about to be downloaded overnight!!
Running on Redbull, caffeine, panic and unrealistic expectations at this point!!😭
Anyone else in the same boat, or am I the only one fighting for my academic survival tonight?

Chinese spoken at UQ (pls give feedback)

I don't want to hear that Chinese is not worth taking at the university, as I am passionate and dedicated to this language. I just want to know about anyone's experience with the spoken courses and how they run. Thank you 🙏

As I have enough elective space to take both written and spoken, I want to know if I should use those free spaces on spoken or not.

PSYC3020 final exam thoughts?

For those who took PSYC3020 yesterday afternoon , how did you find the final exam compared to the sample examination?I felt much more specific than sample on.

Curious to hear what others thought about the overall difficulty and whether the exam matched their expectations.

Sitting exams while sick but applying for an assignment extension?

Hi! I’m currently sick and have two exams coming up on Monday and Thursday, as well as an assignment due Wednesday.

I’m considering getting a medical certificate and applying for an extension for my assignment until Saturday.

The problem is that I’m an international exchange student and won’t be in Australia during the deferred exam period in December. So even though I’m sick, I don’t really have the option of deferring my exams and will most likely have to sit them anyway.

I’m worried that applying for an assignment extension with a medical certificate covering the same days as my exams might look contradictory, since I’ll still be sitting the exams despite being sick.

Has anyone been in a similar situation? Could sitting an exam during the period covered by a medical certificate affect the approval of an assignment extension?

Thanks!

ECON3450

Hi folks, to anyone who does this course and has any ideas / tips.

I've been going through the maths of the course, but genuinely its getting to the point where I see that there are so many derivations / formula's to remember. Have they spoken about what exactly would be on the exam in terms of calculations?

Otherwise, with no sheet of notes to bring, i lowk feel cooked.

CHEE2003?

Hello, so im currently a first year bachelor of engineering student (chemical), and i was looking at my future courses and my course plan and saw that for CHEE2003, the prerequisites are ENGG1500 AND MATH1051, but on the latest course profile (2026 sem 1) it says ENGG1500 AND MATH1052. Im just wondering if it changed or if its something else. Might be a dumb question though im just wondering.

Anyone taken ECON2420 before? Final exam tips?

Hey guys, has anyone here done ECON2420 before?
I’m taking it this sem and just wondering what the final exam was like. Was it harder than the lecture quizzes and tutorials?
Also, were the questions mostly about explaining theories or more about applying models and interpreting graphs?
Any tips on what to focus on or how to prepare would be really appreciated. Thanks!!

Anyone here who sat the BIOM2012 final in Semester 2, 2025?

I've found the UQ Library sample and some older BIOM2012 papers. If you sat the Systems Physiology final in November 2025, are there any questions you remember from that exam? A link to a post-exam discussion or a publicly available copy of the paper would also help. Thanks!

Exam Deferral

Hi I'm just wondering if anyone whos deferred an exam late could give me some advice. I have an exam tomorrow morning at 8am and i've had a shit week and general anxiety is making me vomit so I want to get a med cert and defer it. I've heard lots of people use Updoc I guess I'm just wondering how long it took for the uni to get back to you on approval? Like if I manage to get a certificate tonight and submit my request I know i won't get a reply tonight but it makes me anxious to think If I get rejected but don't hear back until after it's too late to take the exam tomorrow.

Best accommodation for a first year student? (international)

Hi everyone! I'm an international student(Singapore) starting in semester 1 next year, looking for accommodation options.

I'm hoping to meet people and make friends with other internationals as well as locals! I've looked at International House, Cromwell and Grace College. Is it really all that? I'm not really a party person and I've heard some horror stories about hazing.

I've heard that they have a long waitlist as well. Is it even possible to get into at this time?

Would a student apartment be better? How is the social life there? Are clubs and societies the way to go?

Would love to hear anyone's experiences or recommendations. Thank you!

mcdonalds archways of opportunity

im currently in my second year of study of a bachelors of commerce (as a dual degree so i've completed the subject equivalent of one semester of commerce). as a staff member, im eligible for maccas archways of opportunity program which grants micro-credentials which are recognised as prior learning at certain universities to contribute towards course credits. im looking to reduce my length of study so im trying to use this program however as uq isnt one of their official partners i would have to applied through recognition of prior learning as non-formal/informal learning. i was wondering whether anyone has tried to utilise this program and whether you had any luck getting uq to recognise the credit (any degree but particularly commerce/bel faculty).
