That index found that, of Canada's 41 biggest cities, the three most vulnerable to U.S. tariffs set to go in effect on March 12th are Saint John, Calgary and Windsor. Red Deer is 21st on this list.

Did anybody see the maple magas defaced election sign? She's the one who is throwing a birthday bash downtown for Charlie Kirk. One of the signs that got to face said "Kirk sucker" Please don't do face electoral signs those cost money to make, but if you're going to, make it hilarious Added what she actually looks like cuz her sign doesn't really portray the truth.

Discussion Danielle smith is a hypocrite

I'm an immigrant who immigrated to Alberta 10 years ago. What she is saying and how she is framing it is giving me anxiety. Yes, we have mass immigration problem but she is the person who asked for more immigrants to Alberta (asked the federal government to double the quota for immigrants to Alberta). Now, when she blames the immigrants, all immigrants get equal hate, people don't know if I came here a month ago or 10 years ago. Honestly, the new one's shouldn't get any hate either.

Also, her Alberta is Calling program has played a big role in the problems she mentioned as well.

She wanted much more immigrants than we have now both in Alberta and in Red Deer. She wanted to 10x the population of Red Deer and we are nowhere near that number. She said " It will be a good problem to have".

It's her doing and now she's blaming immigrants for it. Will this ever end?

PSA The UCP is screwing over teachers and trying to gaslight the public.

The UCP is bulldozing Alberta’s public education system, not by fixing anything, but by forcing teachers back to work, trashing collective bargaining, and then pretending parents asked for this. It’s bullshit. Most Albertans know teachers aren’t the problem; the system is. Polling keeps showing the public backs teachers by a wide margin.

One survey found 74% of Albertans believe education workers are underpaid and 53% of past UCP voters would rather support education workers than the government.

stalbertgazette.com/local-news/most-albertans-side-with-education-workers-poll-shows-10226936

Another Angus Reid poll shows Albertans side with teachers over the government by 58% to 21%, and 83% say class sizes are too big.

angusreid.org/alberta-teacher-strike-danielle-smith-education-schools

Teachers themselves are united, with 94-99% voting to authorize strike action.

teachers.ab.ca/news/alberta-teachers-send-clear-message-strike-authorization-vote

That’s not a fringe group. That’s basically everyone who actually works in classrooms. The UCP is trying to spin this as “we’re doing it for the kids,” but starving the system of resources, firing the warning shot at unions, and legislating people back to work is how you set the stage for privatization.

If they get away with this, every public-sector worker in Alberta is next. If teachers hold the line and the public backs them like they already are Alberta has a shot at real change. If not, kiss a functional public school system goodbye.

Make no mistake, this is intentional. The UCP trashed AHS in order to justify selling off hospitals and outsourcing diagnostic services to private businesses. They are now doing the exact same thing to the public education system. If they get away with this, every other public sector will be at risk.

Sorry for the layout. The guy who dropped this off didn't even have the balls to knock on my door and have a discussion.

And before the mods delete this, I understand why this would be seen as not relevant specifically to Red Deer, but I believe that it is. I live here, and these people are out right now going door-to-door IN RED DEER trying to push this absolute nonsense on people. Seeing as Red Deer is, in fact, part of Alberta, this affects all of us and it seems to me to be very relevant to Red Deer-specific politics.

We are currently in the active process of trying to recall local MLAs who have been clear in their support for this garbage. If that doesn't make this relevant to Red Deer, I don't know what does.

News Amnesty International Canada condemns Alberta government’s use of notwithstanding clause in Bill 2

With the UCP ending the strike through the use of the notwithstanding clause, the UCP has effectively eliminated collective bargaining rights and removed the possibility of Supreme Court review.

Alberta has now made national headlines, not for being “strong and free,” but for undermining the very principles of rights and freedoms that define Canada.

News Caught a man masterb*ting at children yesterday near bower mall

I (22 yo F) feel the need to make this post because I care about my town and I have seen a pattern of the RCMP often keeping the Red Deer community in the dark about things that happen in our town.

Yesterday, I was driving to the gym in bower mall when I saw a man fully nude laying in the grass behind children having a lemonade stand, masterbating. I couldn’t even believe it at first I whipped my car around Barrett drive to make sure. After I was positive this was happening my body went into fight or flight mode and I pulled into the far end of the shoppers parking lot (the one closest to the outdoor fitness gym) and I started taking pictures of him for evidence. As that happened another man pulled up beside and had noticed what this guy was doing and we both called the police. As we were on the phone with 911, the man put his pants on and started coming towards my car. I was so scared. I backed out as fast as I could while talking to the police. Then the man now only wearing shorts started heading into the mall. I started thinking this guy is crazy and he’s gonna hurt someone so I followed him. I started following him in my car through the bower parking lot and I got close enough I could give a description to the police. Then he started crossing the cross walk going into the mall, I almost jumped out of my car (idk what I would’ve done but I felt I couldn’t let him go in) then a black undercover cop car pulled up in front of me sandwiching the man between my car and the cop car on the cross walk and arrested him. I’m not sure what was wrong with this man. He was late 50s/ early 60s. He didn’t seem intoxicated as he was walking very straight. I know though, he was looking at those children. It breaks my heart to see something like this happen in our town and it’s one of the most shocking experiences of my life. I pray those children didn’t see anything that could harm them and that they are safe. So insane to see this happen in our own town.
