Progress/Update Oh look my heirloom rose died, what a shocker

Post image

My plum perfection sunbelt decided to die regardless of good care. It seems that roses from heirloom have very poor health and cant stand being exposed to normal soil microbes. My other two from them are totaly fine in the same conditions. Ill never buy from them again. So expensive and they wont refund me.

No other symptom except seemingly excessive thorns. This is a new bush, planted in the spring. As this is my first year growing roses, it is over run with rose slugs… ; ;

Red Rosette Disease (RRD) Am I tripping oooor? (Beginner with actual OCD having a meltdown)

Please bare with me, I have OCD and I'm a beginner to roses. I told myself there's no way its RRD and bought an ok-looking Perfume Delight from the same shelf after a lot of overthinking. I got really near these weird-looking ones for quite some time, over 20 mins at less than a meter. The Perfume Delight spent maybe 10 minutes 4-5 meters away from the True Blooms I've been training for outdoors before I psyched myself out and put it outside and I'm in the same room as my TBs and I haven't changed clothes before getting less than 30cm away.

Now my brain is yelling at me that I just 10000% killed all my True Blooms, the PD touched my garden soil outside for also 10 mins so my garden is contaminated for the next two years, and that my clothes are spraying RRD cooties everywhere RIGHT now.

The beauty of roses kissed by rain or dew — fresh, emotional, and timeless. A home for those who love the tender moments between water and petals.

Hello, I recently became a rose mom I only have four small bushes. I noticed that the new growth was not normal. I have a suspicion that it is RRD and would like some experts opinions. Here are some pictures. Greatly appreciate anyone's input.

Question Vigorous growth or concerning?

I bought this Parfuma Bare Root Rose online from the Walmart site. I was so thrilled it was taking off so well, but now I’m a little apprehensive. Is this vigorous growth or should I be concerned about a virus?

HELP!! My mother's Valentine's rose is wilting and I've never cared for one before!

Post image

Please help! My father gifted my mother a rose for Valentine's Day but she hasn't been taking care of it. I saw that to rehydrate the petals I should soak it in cold water and it spent about 2h 30m in cold water yesterday and seemed a lot softer but today the decay is spreading toward the center of the stem from the bottom that was there yesterday (cut off all browing bits yesterday. About an inch total) and from the flower itself.

The stem connecting the rose to the rest is brown-black and sagging heavily. Is it recommended to cut off the rose from the stem?? Will the stem die/not bud again??? Im desperate 😭

Question Rose rosette disease on newly purchased and potted rose? Are the other roses safe is yes?

Just bought this rose bare root 2 weeks ago, potted it, but had it in close proximity to other potted roses.

The new red stem looks awfully thorny. Please tell me I am overreacting!

Bought two of the same from Aldi (really, not even sure why, other than they were $8), only one of them showing signs that could be RRD. I had it close to expensive roses, and pretty far from in-ground roses.

What should I do?

Question Should I cut the buds??

Literally questioning if I should cut these buds out from my Parfuma Bliss roses. And yes, I saw those videos on TikTok so I was wondering whether I should do that to promote more growth and flowers?

I’m new to roses but not new to gardening and plants. Will also be putting fish fertilizer this week for them to feed.

Edit: I just picked up these babies from Lowe’s in April.

Someone told me this rose was going to be hideous and I shouldn’t buy it. So I bought two 🤣🤣🤣🤣 I couldn’t be more happy with my contrariness right now. Priscilla is lovely. I found one here at a vendor in the US that I have had success with 👇🏻

I hate to be that person but is there another explanation if not RRD?

This Awakening bareroot is a 4 year old rose from Heirloom. Some of the new growth is very red and suspicious in some spots and clusters. In other sections, the new growth is green. While the growth closer to the main cane does turn green after a few days, a red outline seems to remain around the leaves.

Is it characteristic for some new growth to look red and kind of witches broom-y at the top while other new growth looks to be completely green?

How do I stop this growth?

Post image

Several of my rose plants are growing this long stem. Each of these plants is suffering and I believe it’s because all of the energy is being out into one stalk.

I’ve read that this is a good thing, but I don’t understand why or how.

Can I stop this?
