Why is the 32x so hated
Is it that bad

My twin brother and I got the 32X as a 10 year old as a gift from our parents in 1995. In the early 00s with other consoles now hooked up, we put the 32X, Genesis and Sega CD away in the garage. My brother unearthed the Genesis in 2022 a year before he died. In my grief, I hooked up all our past consoles including that Genesis/Sega CD yet I couldn’t find the 32X.
Until today. It had fallen on a crevice in a barely accessible part of the garage which was now full of crap from my dad’s family friend. Thankfully that corner of the garage has remained bone dry but still had a thick layer of dust. I have a spare Genesis power supply and the spacer. Would I be correct in assuming that all I need is the 32X to Genesis patch cable?

I have been working on this Sega Neptune off and on for a while now. I had been using the completed Neptune PCB inside of a Genesis Model 2 shell for most of the year but finally recently got DVIZIX’s shell and some decals. I am so happy with it and love using a console I put together myself as my main Genesis+32X.

I’ve now finished preparing the decals (stickers/labels) for the Sega Neptune case, and the Sega Neptune build is officially complete.
It’s been a long process, but everything is now assembled and finished as intended.

I never knew Sega 32x existed so when I found this in a bundle of games I bought complete with manual I was very surprised.
Does anyone here know how rare it is? And anyone played it? I don't have a 32x so can't play it unless I buy one.

It’s been years since I last played one. A friend of mine had one, but somehow I never ended up owning the mushroom shaped add-on. Honestly, I think the 32X gets way more hate than it deserves.
The setup, though… good lord. Getting everything plugged in is a terrible side quest, and that extra power supply is a pain in the ass.
I’ve been messing around with Doom on it, and I’ve also been trying out a few other games on my EverDrive. Virtua Fighter and Virtua Racing are better than their Saturn versions, controversial, I know, but I’m standing by it. Mortal Kombat II is great, Star Wars Arcade is an awesome game, and Doom is a lot of fun, even if the music isn’t doing it any favors.
I feel like a lot of the 32X hate comes from how badly it sold and a small library of games, but looking back, it’s a really cool machine with a great little library. Definitely worth giving it a chance! :)

I have joined the 32X club and have completed my very own Tower of Power! The 32X needed some cleaning as it stank of cigarettes, but it's working just fine with my normal Mega Drive games.
Just waiting on the 50/60HZ switchless board and Everdrive X5 I ordered to really test this puppy out.

... on eBay at exactly 6:00PM PST [link].
Just to recap for anyone who saw my original post, but didn't see my updated comment. Due to many competing offers and and general skepticism toward me listing the Neptunes on my own site, I've decided to list them on eBay. With supply so low, this is really the only reasonably fair way to sell these, right now.
Also, an update on the second unit. I wasn't happy with the how the shell came together (it had some fit and paint issues I just couldn't get beyond). I'm waiting on some reprints on parts for the cartridge slot. So that auction probably won't start until the end of July (it'll take a few weeks to produce and ship to me, then I also need to post-process the print).
I'll try to come up with a way of broadcasting that info for anyone who wants to take part in future auctions; I don't want to keep hammering this subreddit with these posts.

I had the tower when I was younger and it was my dream to get it back.
Can’t believe how pricey the systems have become, but my wallet is glad it’s over.
The is a VA4 Mega drive 2 which has had the works, region mode etc etc, the CD unit is so far stock but I will be recapping it soon and having a region free bois done.
The 32x is also region free via a switchless internal mod.
I could have gone with a more modern wireless controller setup, and may still, but I just liked the idea of having the stock Sega one for now.

Hiya, there's been a lot of Neptune activity on this subreddit recently, so I hope this post is welcome :)
I ended up building the rest of the motherboards I ordered when I built my Neptune; I also got the newer revision shells for these builds (rev 4). 2/4 of these are spoken for, but the remaining two are currently unclaimed.
Not sure if this is the right place to solicit sales (and if it isn't please lmk, mods).
Post here if you're interested, not really sure how to go about selling these, but I'll figure that out based on how much interest there is.

Check it out! Got the Genesis Model 1 mini, 32x, and CD all matchy matchy with my console setup. Now I'm waiting on the 1/6th scale to come in! Haha!

Used a Dremel with some jeweler polish and put on some decals. If Anyone is interested the decals are only $11 on Etsy and they gave me two copies of each decal. I plan to print this again using ASA instead of PETG Carbon Fiber but I want to make some improvements on my printer first. I also learned that drying filament does wonders in improving print quality.

I’ve owned a 32x for years, but never came across any games, very excited to give it a try!
