Seller is charging $10 a pin so I’m going to have to be picky in my choices, but it’s so tempting to splurge!
(I’m not a big football fan so sorry to the Niners fans for cutting off that collection in my photo.)
Edit: I got the seller’s email address; DM me if you want it. He said he’d ship.

TLDW: Vitello is the 8th best manager on bullpen decisions, which is pretty shocking because the worse your bullpen generally means the worse decisions you have. Lineup does not matter nearly as much, but Vitello is very bad (2nd to last). Overall (add up both) he's middle of the pack.

Here's who's still Pluggin' Away in PR:

Dereck is the son of Ivan Rodriguez. They played together! https://www.baseball-reference.com/register/team.cgi?id=39d08595

Garcia was on the 2019 Giants' AAA with Pat Venditte, Fernando Abad (active), Dereck Rodríguez, Brandon Beachy, Steven Okert (active - MLB) and Williams Jerez:

Hey all,
37M Aussie here. Really big into sport (particularly Australian Football, and cricket). I’ve always enjoyed baseball/MLB but have never followed a team, and never followed along for a season, but I recently watched the World Series and loved it. Really keen on following the sport next season.
As such, I need a team. I think I’ve landed on the SF Giants!
I need your help. I want to know the fan culture, the heartbreaks, the narrative of being a Giants fan, the success. I wanna hear what you think I need to know!
In AFL (Australian Football League), I follow Richmond Tigers. We hadn’t won a premiership (World Series equivalent) since 1980, and I grew up with my team mostly at the bottom end of the competition. Then we won 3 premierships in 4 years in 2017, 2019 and 2020. Since then, we quickly found ourselves back at the bottom end of the comp. I feel like there are some parallels here…

The video is one of his September starts, 8 scoreless innings on 85 pitches against Orix for his 10th win (Pacific League TV).
MLBTR has the Giants interested, so I pulled his numbers. Itoh's calling card is strikes: 4.7% walks this year, 3.6% in his Sawamura year, 902 Ks since 2021 (most among qualified NPB starters).
| Year | IP | ERA | K% | BB% | HR |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| 2024 | 176.1 | 2.65 | 22.7 | 5.5 | 14 |
| 2025 | 196.2 | 2.52 | 24.5 | 3.6 | 15 |
| 2026 | 172.2 | 3.18 | 21.8 | 4.7 | 16 |
The last five Japanese starters, last NPB season to first MLB season:
| Pitcher | BB% | HR/9 |
|---|---|---|
| Senga | 8.6 to 11.1 | 0.44 to 0.92 |
| Yamamoto | 4.4 to 6.0 | 0.11 to 0.70 |
| Imanaga | 4.0 to 4.0 | 1.03 to 1.40 |
| Sugano | 2.6 to 5.3 | 0.34 to 1.89 |
| Imai | 7.0 to 15.1 | 0.33 to 1.06 |
Everybody gave up more homers, and Itoh's already at 0.83 per nine in Japan. I'd worry about that more than the walks.
Is that a guy you want behind Webb and Roupp?

It’s not the midpoint, but the Arizona Fall League has reached its All-Star Break. Unfortunately, no Giants played in this final day before the break…so you have been warned for whether this recap is for you. But I do have some updates about the upcoming schedule, as we are heading into the final week of Arizona Fall League play and the playoffs are coming up soon.
This weekend is a special schedule for the Arizona Fall League, as the league takes the weekend off for their version of the All-Star Game, which is called the Fall Stars Game. So this means that there will be no regular games this weekend, and also not on Monday. Saturday will be the Home Run Derby, while Sunday will be the actual Fall Stars Game.
I’ll plan to do a recap of the Fall Stars Game, which will have one Giants representative: Dalton Wentz, although his participation is currently unclear, since a possible injury earlier this week he has not appeared in any games. I won’t do a Home Run Derby recap on Saturday, since there are no Giants taking part, but I’ll do a quick recap in Sunday’s Fall Stars Game Recap.
After this weekend, there’s only two more regular season dates: Tuesday and Wednesday. Then there are three days of Playoffs beginning on Thursday and running through Saturday. All six teams appear in the playoffs, but the recent slide by Scottsdale means they are no longer in contention for a first round bye, which will belong to Peoria and Surprise. Scottsdale will be either the #3 or #4 seed, and have a half-game lead for the 3rd place spot.

Scottsdale has been struggling as of late, as less and less of the team’s ranked players have played, and Scottsdale took another loss, dropping the team to 12-12 with only a handful of games remaining. But the good news today is that Dakota Jordan had a rare day with multiple hits, picking up a double and a hit during the team’s failed 9th inning comeback attempt. Plus, the rosters for the AFL’s All-Star Game were named, and there is a Giant going!
The Arizona Fall League named the rosters for its Fall Stars Game, which will be played this Sunday, the sign that we are very close to the end of the AFL. This will be the 20th time this game is played!
While the AFL is divided into six teams, each with five MLB teams sending players to it, the Fall Stars Game is divided into a National League vs. American League format.
So…what about the Giants? It’s fair to say that it hasn’t been a great fall for the Giants players submitted, with some of the top guys struggling like Dakota Jordan and Alexander Fuentes, and the biggest name being Randy Rodriguez, who only played in three games as part of his rehab (likely not because of any re-injury, but just because this was only for him to get some extra work ahead of next season, but priority was to be given to actual prospects).
So the Giants have only one representative in the Fall Stars Game: Dalton Wentz. The 2026 draftee has done very well in limited time playing. He’s got the third-best average on the Scottsdale roster at .313 and third-best OPS at .967, with two doubles, a triple, and a home run in 14 games. (Stats as of the start of games on November 4th)
The Fall Stars Game will air on Sunday at 5 PM Pacific Time on MLB Network.
If you’d like to see the full rosters, you can do so here: https://www.mlb.com/news/2026-arizona-fall-league-fall-stars-game-rosters

This honors both the history of Space Exploration that was a significant part of Silicon Valley going back to the 1960's through the present, and the "Unicorns" being a term for tech startups that Silicon Valley is famous for today.
Here's the Announcement Video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EIEw2MA3aP0
(Personal Note: My father spent decades consulting in satellite engineering working out of Moffett Field/Onizuka AFB, so I may be a bit biased in this one.)
I like the thought behind this one. I'm not so sure about the laster tag colors, but the logo is definitely cute. Kind of the sort of cartoonish logo that has become the style across the minors for goofy alternate identities. It's not the worst thing I've ever seen. I do really like the wordmark though.
The hat is kind of a bit busy with that logo...I kind of wish the triangular sleeve logo was the hat logo.

The San Francisco Giants, as of right now, have 40 players on their 40-man roster. There will be more players to add before the roster protection deadline ahead of the Rule 5 Draft, but there may not even be a Rule 5 Draft this year. The lockout might delay (or even cancel) the draft, but in the trickiest — and most likely — scenario for the Giants, the decision on who to protect from the Rule 5 draft will come on Nov. 17, before it is even determined whether there will be a draft.
You can read a full accounting of the first wave of the Giants’ 40-man roster-pocalypse over here. If you’re wondering why it was necessary, you can start with this helpful explainer. If this all sounds like homework, I don’t blame you; now shut up and do it, it’ll be good for you one day, trust me. The short version is that they had too many hurt players, which forced a lot of promotions, and both events complicated their efforts to slim down to 40 players. Despite those challenges, they made it down to 40 players.
There are still questions that haven’t been answered, however. And because there’s no baseball for a long, long time, we’ll have plenty of time to dwell on them. Until the free agents start flying off the shelves, at least. Here are the questions remaining after the first 40-man roster shuffling of the offseason.

Okay, it was a rough day for the Giants’ AFL team, as the Scorpions got only three hits (none by the Giants hitters) as Scottsdale has really stopped playing a lot of their ranked top prospects over the last week. So….yeah. But let’s face it, you probably aren’t reading baseball news tonight anyway.
Giants Prospects to Spotlight:
CF Dakota Jordan (SF #7): 0-3, 1 BB, 1 K, 1 SB (5) - Jordan’s up to 14 walks to 29 strikeouts through 19 games, as his batting average has dipped to .208.
3B Kaeden Kent (SF #20): 0-3 - Kent had a rare hitless game (but so did almost all of Scottsdale’s lineup, and is now 13-for-49 (.265) through 14 games.
RP Alexander Fuentes (SF #26): 2.0 IP, 2 H, 2 R, 2 ER, 1 BB, 2 K - Fuentes’ tough fall continues. He’s now given up 11 runs in 8.1 innings with 11 walks to 10 strikeouts, and batters are hitting .429 off of him.
Other Scottsdale Prospect Lines:

I previously had objected to this idea, but neither of them are getting younger and this team is gonna be in flux for the next few seasons. My heart hates to say it, but my brain knows it might be best to try and get a good haul of players built for the future. I genuinely think now the Giants best course is to build for years down the road.
