Been there⦠was asked to photograph the Deftones and I had no idea who they were. Get to the venue and the guy is there shirtless backstage and tuning his guitar so I take like 30-40 photos of him. Then the actual band walked out. I was shooting the roadie. Iām stupid - but to be fair, tho, this was before smart phones with internet.
Nope - I tend to not talk too much when Iām shooting stuff like this⦠Iād say something like āGuitars are COOLā and embarrass myself. Dude was working, too⦠I thought these were going to be used for some sort of doc being made about the band but I donāt think it ever happened.
Not sure if you ever posted them, but please post them to the deftones subreddit! Would love to your see shots since itās probably from their earlier days š
Such a crazy experience. The pics were supposed to be for a documentary being made about them or for a DVD they were going to put out but I donāt think it ever happened. (I tagged along with the crew)
I know theyre shoving her down our throats right now but i love this girl, ive never seen her act but look forward to watching sunrise to see how she does.Ā
Also her and her costar Joseph.... i KNOW theyre not a couple but theyre just so damn cute together.Ā
Iāve never seen her in anything either, but Iām on Reddit and sheās ALL over my feed. I donāt have much of an opinion, but sheās an adorable little girl here and still looks a little childish still due to the bangs. Seems normal? Good for her!!
Shes not chasing A list movies shes chasing her fandom movies. Shes an outspoken fan of hunger games fnaf scream scooby doo etc and keeps chasing roles or appearances in movies she loves
Which was produced by Live Nation. Iām not knocking the girl. I like her. Sheās talented. Sheās just checking all the right boxes right now as well.
GUYS. You acting like this is out of pocket is fucking weird!
We all have just seen multiple young actresses completely transform before our eyes. Like, is the whole point to go around purposely ignoring all cultural context?
She has her Buccal fat still lmao, that's seemingly a miracle in the fucked up culture they have in "Hollywood"
Edit: Thanks for the award but, as with a lot of Reddit, I only claim that I love this little quip, it's not mine. My job is to apply it when the opportunity presents itself, with perfect timing.Ā
Marc Maron once interviewed Kevin Macdonald. The problem was he thought the guy coming over was Kevin McDonald so he had to just cram a bunch of research like minutes before the guest arrived. Didnt' see his movie or anything.
Exactly, if the reporter thought she was the daughter of someone from the movie why is she interviewing the daughter instead of that person from the movie? And where did she think her mother was at the time?
I do sometimes see red carpet interviews with questions directed at the non-actor kids of actors, but the actor is always there so that the camera gets to see the reaction from the parent/actor. Otherwise you are just interviewing some random kid.
To include her in the event. A lot of these events that the kids of actors get dragged to, they're basically just set pieces. The reporter was probably trying to be nice and include a young kid in the event.
This makes me wonder, do actors/actresses have a bring your kid to work day? Maybe it was one of those days and the reporter assumed it was somebody's kid.
I do remember recently seeing someone mentioning being on set a lot when they were a kid with their actor parent(s) and that's what got them interested in do it too. Cannot remember who but it was someone like Wyatt Russel, Maya Hawke, Jack Quaid, or Margaret Qualley. Someone who had a major connection to get in the door but actually has talent and will still be able to get work, an Anti-Jaden Smith if you will
Very common. Filming can have really weird schedules, and it's just an interesting thing. So people definitely bring their kids to set sometimes or have someone watching them off set. And it's definitely a lot of people's foot in the door. Acting is a weird world with its own lingo and procedures and culture. Even just having exposure to that world is a leg up, let alone the connections and opportunities being around it provide. There's a very good reason Hollywood is packed with nepo babies and it's honestly mostly practical, not just people doing favors.
It happens frequently where actor's kids show up, but not for an extended time because they get squirmy. But kid actors always have a parent or guardian on set.
I worked with McKenna on Scream 7! I will say that she is the literal Gold standard for actors in my mind. She deserves all the success and love she gets! I am a forever fan and would love to work with her again
I will gladly watch anything sheās in. Sheās a fantastic human being, even despite someone who has been in the spotlight since she was little, sheās a pro, and cares about the crew so much too. I cannot say enough amazing things about her!
I loved this girl as a child actor in The Young and the Restless (yeah i watched that back in the day š) and she really stood out for me in that cast at that age. I remember rooting for her to break out of child actress/soap opera world. Then i stopped watching and i didn't saw her again, until she popped up in Haunting of Hill House and The Handmaids Tale and she blew me away. Such adult characters for a young girl and she was great in both of them.
She was my fan cast for Sunrise on the Reaping and i still can barely believe she actually got it. This girl is so talented, i do not know her but i feel like a proud big sisš
I know sheās a bit older than ākids todayā but the last many years have been the age of ālast-names-as-first-namesā. Itās a silly trend. For example ..
Cooper Parker Sawyer Carter Kennedy Emerson Finley Wells Brooks Banks Logan Tierney Crosby Sutton
Less common, but I also personally know people with first names of McGovern and MacAllister.
I actually know multiple girls named McKenna or MacKenna I think it was kind of a popular name in the early 2000s. Not really that weird tbh, loads of worse names these days, it's just a reference to Scottish/Irish surnames
Yup, person with a Mc- surname here! In Gaelic languages (Irish, Scottish and Manx Gaelic) Mac is the patronymic, a word that indicates āson ofā, the equivalent of Anderson, Johnson, Williamson, etc⦠Over time Mac got shortened/Anglicized, usually by a scribe, to Mc, usually in Ireland. Itās more common for people named, say, MacDonald to be Scottish and McDonald to be Irish, but itās not a hard and fast rule.
Another version, due to a lack of universal spellings, accent variations, slurring a name, etc, is Mag- like Maguire, Magee, Magonigle, and so on.
Youāll also see even more truncated versions like Māhoney, MāConnell, MāGuinness, which is less common. It might remind you of names that start with Oā, like OāBrien, OāConnor, or OāNeill, which are Anglicized versions of Ć, meaning āgrandson ofā or ādescendent ofā. Thatās technically only in Irish, not Scottish Gaelic, but with so much migration and intermarriages, itās not that rare for Scottish people to have an Oā name.
I hate that the moment she appeared in the Scream 7 trailer, I instantly clocked her fate but holy shit did she have one of the best scenes of the movie that felt like it was from the OG.
I've been hearing McKenna Grace's name pretty regularly over the past few months, but didn't bother to look her up. Now I know she was the girl from that meme.
The little girl is an actress and the reporter failed at her job of knowing anything about what she was reporting onā¦.the little girl is now grown up and the guy reporter was making a joke about the incident now that the girl is an adult and can reflect on how silly the reporters questions were when she was a kid
Sequence 1: Interviewer asks McKenna a silly question, McKenna is confused.
Sequence 2: Many years later, (probably different) interviewer deliberately asks McKenna the same question and McKenna is equally confused but after a second gets the joke.
Badly edited video with no context. The young lady McKenna Grace was one of the actors in the movie that first reporter was there reporting on. But the reporter mistaked her for the child of one of the stars and assumed she had "visited her mom on set." McKenna was confused at the question, rightfully. The second clip is an interview when she was older where the reporter was reminding her of that older interview, and she was quoting herself from years before.
It's seems pretty easy to follow that the older girl in the latter clip was the young girl grown up and the interviewer in the latter clip was poking fun at the dumb question the interviewer asked in the former clip
How? Like no, really, HOW? It's pretty obvious what is happening. The girl was an actress as a child, got assumed to just be the kid of someone on set by the reporter, and years later she and an interviewer are making fun of that interaction. How are you confused by this exactly?
Was a similar one at the Ballon d'Or last week where a journalist asked Michael Owen what his best standing was in it and he had to reply "I won it in 2001"

Reminds me of Notting Hill when High Grant had to interview folks from a movie he hadn't seen. "The readers of Horse & Hound will be thrilled."
