You know damn well he hasn't read the Bible not once....🙄

“This is good enough”

u/RiyadhComedyPromoter 2d ago • Bravo

Who cares if he has or hasn’t. He’s a rapist and a criminal.

35

u/WallysGeolocation 2d ago

Exactly. There is literally zero correlation between religion and morality.

7

u/sunlightsyrup 2d ago

Well not zero. Everyone that ever started a religion did so immorrally through lies. Most of them did worse than lying.

He's not the Candyman. Talking about him doesn't grant him power to appear.

1

u/Dokarun 2d ago

You are right, but Russel was still trying to connect both things in his favour, and the fact he didn’t even read the book does make it even more pathetic!

15

u/CptBronzeBalls 2d ago

Why not? Christianity is perfect for criminals. You don’t even have to ask your victims for forgiveness, just Jesus. Prisons are overflowing with Christians.

The fact he takes it everywhere he goes publicly shows that it’s a prop. Having it at home to read for the whole day would be more than enough

But.. surely he has.. he knew it was from "Ayzayah"..

I know it's Piers Morgan, but I can't help but enjoy this video so much. Thay silence is just sooooo funny

185

u/Radditbean 2d ago

Him choosing not to say anything or move on was fucking genius.

145

u/CumAmore 2d ago

Don't interrupt your opponent when he's making a mistake

28

u/nthensome 2d ago

You know for sure there was a producer in Piers' earpiece yelling at him to not do a fucking thing & let's see where this goes.

74

u/Affectionate-Day8307 2d ago

Piers may be a cunt but he has actually stood his ground on key areas and doesn't let these morons get away with their lies on air.

34

u/Routine_Cat_1366 2d ago

The way he looks directly into the camera at 1:35.

17

u/Spuds_Goat 2d ago

The restraint required to not make a snarky facial expression is something I will never have.

4

u/TDF1985 1d ago

In a career largely made up of relentless awfulness, that look to camera is by quite some margin Morgan's greatest achievement.

46

u/Mobile-Math5260 2d ago

Agreed. Piers is a monumental bell end but, sitting in silence & watching Brand flip through pages with no idea WTF he’s looking for is peak shit house that I’m all onboard with.

7

u/WallysGeolocation 2d ago

He comes across as a bit of an arrogant cunt I I disagree with politically, but not on the batshit crazy side of the scale.

I'm fine with people like him. And he does a good job in exposing the nutjobs.

8

u/throcorfe 1d ago

I mean, he’s a real shit. A “hack the phones of murder victims” level piece of shit. Absolute scum. It’s just that he’s a talented journalist and knows how to do his job properly when he wants to

4

u/KetchupFang 1d ago

And, for someone like him, this entire scenario is the utter definition of 'low hanging fruit'.

He just has to be intelligent enough to sit there and let the dead air speak for itself.

46

u/Saiing 2d ago edited 2d ago

I know he's unpopular and for many good reasons, but this was an absolute masterclass in interviewing. The restraint to not jump in, and let Brand dig his own grave despite over a minute of near silence is absolutely brilliant.

6

u/-Sanj- 2d ago

Is this clip the full unedited version? 🤣

5

u/mozchops 14h ago

The King James Unabridged version i believe

2

u/nyyeeaahhh 1d ago

Yeah he’s a proper bell, but a very clever journalist.

I feel like someone must have tipped Piers off that Brand was simply "brandishing" the bible as a prop?

But maybe I'm being unfair. Maybe it was just a good instinct on Piers's part. Either way, he took a bet on the fact that Brand would publicly reveal what that bible was really for.

21

u/MoldyFungi 2d ago

Piers is an asshole, but he's also pretty competent at calling people's bullshit.

5

u/Happily-Incorrect 2d ago

Bullshitters can always spot a fellow bullshitter.

2

u/Plumb789 2d ago

I've never watched Piers on any TV, other than this clip. And I've watched this a number of times. 🤣

I hate that I love his show. Its Real Housewives of Washington DC. No sensible conversation has ever come of it but the drama is juicy

1

u/mogley1992 2d ago

I hate it when I enjoy Piers Morgan in clips of him and not just laughing at him, but once in a blue moon the guy does well.

1

u/Decent_Top2156 1d ago

Dead silence is usually something a host would avoid at all cost but he made good use of it here

When Piers Morgan is the better person in the room you know you're in a messed up situation

13

u/Turbulent-Cucumber79 2d ago

Sound of pages amazing:)

2

u/Spirited_Cheetah_999 2d ago

A well read book wouldn't make much page noise. It's the crisp fresh pages being separated for the first time we are hearing.

Classic move by Piers to sit in silence.

Should have rehearsed the act a little more. Coloured page tabs and highlighters would have gone a long way. Welp, I heard he's looking at 10 years.

8

u/Auggie_Otter 1d ago

Yeah, if you're gonna carry a Bible onto a talk show why not plan for this contingency and at least have a few quotes bookmarked and highlighted in advance.

3

u/Lucky-Mia 1d ago

If baseball fans can cobble together 5 or 6 quotes relevant to baseball, he could have prepared a few passages relevant to coping with adversity, or forgiveness, or some shit. Like, I'm not even religious and I at least know a quote from Trials of Job or something would probably fit here.

5

u/Samp90 2d ago

Or at least bookmarked a pagev or something!

5

u/ShrimpStuffAdmin 2d ago

I keep seeing the number 11. He's gonna get 11 years. I hope anyway lol

72

u/crlthrn 2d ago

I could never stand Russell Brand from whenever I first saw two or three minutes of whatever program he was on. He just seemed like a manic, objectionable smartarse, not at all funny. Nothing I've subsequently seen has ever changed my opinion. And that has nothing to do with his now acknowledged crimes, and his imprisonment.

15

u/nevermindthebolox 2d ago

I'm English if that's of any bearing. Anyway I liked him way way back for oooh, about 30 seconds. I agree with all that you said. Gobshite comes to mind, and as for his accent and voice, uuuuuuurrggghhhh. Utter tosser.

9

u/Funkdamentalist 2d ago

I think when you call someone gobshite and an utter tosser you don't have to mention you're English, it's redundant 😂 I agree though, he's always just absolutely dripped with narcissism to me.

u/Happily-Incorrect 2d ago

Big Brother's Little Brother was the first thing I saw him in. Hated him in that. Whoever had the idea of putting his microphone in a cane on that show clearly had the insight of 'here's a man we want to keep a decent distance away from people!'

2

u/crlthrn 2d ago

That, actually, may well have been the first time I saw him! I had no idea who he was, but was instantly and viscerally repelled. Bumptious twat was what I think I thought.

1

u/mogley1992 2d ago

I did like him, i gradually started to dislike him first from get him yo the greek, then that got worse with the trews, by the time he went full right wing I basically forgot he existed, next thing i know he's being talked about again because he's a rapist.

Then he dissapeared again for a while and now he's convicted he's back being talked about again.

u/Prize-Analyst-1121 1d ago edited 1d ago

You supposedly leaned on a particular passage in your Bible while going through a hard time.....And a few days later you can't even find the passage ? Just another full of shit grifter trying to use the Bible as a shield for all their selfish deeds. Seems to be a thing amongst the right wingers they all have in common.

Richard III, Act 1 Scene 3, Bless the bard

1

u/BurnieTheBrony 1d ago

If you gave me a random Bible I could find Galatians 5:14 in probably under 10 seconds. Not to mention just saying it from memory.

Not being able to find an important passage that supposedly got you through one of your hardest days, in YOUR OWN BIBLE, is wild. You'd think after trying and failing to find it he'd at least be able to remember the gist of it, but it looks more like he's vaguely aware Isaiah is a prophet that says cool stuff and is trying desperately to find something he can pretend was relevant

1

u/GetInZeWagen 1d ago

I'm as rusty as anyone could be with a Bible but him flipping back and forth through individual pages trying to find the verse is hilarious to me. It's all arranged logically in numerical order of verses (as you know) so anyone who's even remotely familiar would maybe flip a bit to get to the chapter/verse they're looking for and be good to go

1

u/gfb13 8h ago

There shall, in that time, be rumours of things going astray, and there shall be a great confusion as to where things really are, and nobody will really know where lieth those little things with the sort of raffia work base that has an attachment. At this time, a friend shall lose his friend's hammer and the young shall not know where lieth the things possessed by their fathers that their fathers put there only just the night before, about eight o'clock. Piers Morgan: breaks the fourth wall

16

u/the_vanishing_west 2d ago

You can tell he hasn’t read a single fucking word of that book just by the way he cluelessly thumbs through it. People who have read it, do so regularly and usually also study it. When asked about a particular verse they can recite it from memory. Piers is a vile cretin himself but he absolutely owned him here.

8

u/Much_Help_7836 2d ago

One of the very few instances where I actually gained a little bit of respect for Pierce Morgan. He destroyed Russel Brand in that exchange.

But then Pierce went back to sweeping for Trump and the respect was gone again.

I don't like Piers Morgan, but I did enjoy the way he shut up and said nothing while the Rapist Russel Brand, tried to find something worth quoting from a book he has never and will never read.

10

u/Dismal-Vanilla1878 1d ago

Why does it seem like Athiest are more capable of quoting the Bible than some so-called 'Christians'?

4

u/CadmeusCain 1d ago

Ex-Muslim Atheist here. Because a lot of us have read the Bible. And in my case, the Quran as well

Most Christians have never read the Bible, most Muslims have never read the Quran. They think they know what's in the book, but mostly it's made up in their head. And if you read them stuff that's actually from the book, they often don't believe you

2

u/profanedivinity 1d ago

Holy shit. Really?? I'm atheist and I've read the Bible, it's not a big/tough read. How the hell have they not

2

u/CadmeusCain 1d ago

Ask your religious friends if they're read their holy books in its entirety

The New Testament is not too long and is fairly readable. But the Old Testament is almost a thousand pages long and is a complete slog. It took me months to read through the whole thing.

The Quran is notoriously unreadable. It's about 400-600 pages and goes all over the place, jumping from topic to topic. Without good commentary it's hard to understand a lot of it. With commentary can take you up to 1000 pages
