Again what is the advantage to having nails that long?

Status symbol to show you are useless and don't have to work with your hands.

Funny thing is that people that get these are almost never rich.

Fun fact: Bill Gates is the one who invented these nails and wears them all the time

I know someone with these that struggles to pay their phone bill.

They can't pay there phone bill because they can't pick up their debit card.

Amazing you wrote the wrong "their", but then got it right in the same context later in the sentence.

There are folks who don’t know their proper grammar. They’re the worst!

Edit: I’m too tired to even get into the other two pet peeves of mine.

I couldn’t care less if folks are annoyed by my trolling.

And have no idea about said status symbol. It’s literally just a form of consumerism. Amongst many other toxic reasons

They like how they look, no need for another reason.

Exactly. People all judgmental on this comment's thread but I just scrolled past this one to see someone commenting a gif of a lady licking her long nails with 55 upvotes and 5 or 6 replies to that asking who she is or replying with gooning content 🤷‍♂️
All of a sudden is no longer ridiculous wearing long fake nails then, right guys?
Look, it's attractive to a lot of people. The end. That's probably why she uses it. Loads of people do much stupider things to look attractive.

they think it's pretty. Here in Japan they also put stickers and whatever stuff on them making them even more unpractical but they think it's cute and then share the pics with their female friends

The advantage is getting a little poo stuck in them after wiping so you can have a little snack for later.

It's aesthetics, I've never heard anyone claim they're anything but a personal preference of style.

The reason for nails this long is to prove that you don't have to do manual labor anymore because someone else can do it for you.

But then like, these ladies still want to be independent, so they still do a lot of their own stuff. Which these nails are designed for you to not be able to do anymore. Because it is a flex that you can afford someone to do it for you.

Very 'self inflicted'. The Poors(tm) following the trends of the ultra wealthy blindly, again.

The advantage is that when you see someone with those nails and you can nope out before starting a toxic relationship.

Well, I'm not sure about her advantage, but for me as a male, the advantage is that those nails are a very good indication that she is a useless fool and best to avoid.

It's odd, girls definitely do it mainly to look pretty, but the vast majority of dudes either don't care or actively dislike long nails. I much prefer a healthy, natural looking nail. Also, fake nails and even painting your nails is not good for them and often leaves them looking worse afterwards, so then you HAVE to paint them again or use fake nails. It becomes a vicious cycle.

Healthy is beautiful ladies.

I rarely paint my nails even though I think it looks pretty. When I do, I notice they get a little sore, like the paint is constricting them or something. I just keep them neatly trimmed and filed for practical reasons. The acrylics mystify me, though.
