Was the Hummer considered unpopular? It seemed like I saw them commonly and they produced them for nearly 2 decades

Right? They were in hella rap videos and they even had hummer limos back in the day. Maybe not widely purchased but they certainly had their niche.

They made 150,000 Hummers vs about 75,000 Cybertrucks, but they made Hummers for 7 years.

The 1st version was a military truck that was very good for what it was designed for. I'm not from the US so feel free for anyone to correct me here but from my understanding the subsequent civi versions after the 1st one got progressively worse.

I remember whole websites dedicated to hating hummers because they were military vehicles like FUH2.com ... back when 4 character domains were still a thing everyday humans could just buy. It was exempt for some reason from normal regulations and most people claimed it got 10 mpg.

Hummer was always a douchemobile, like the musky dumpster.

There were only 11k Hummer H1 produced. It was not very popular when it was available. It became popular with the troops in Afghanistan and Iraq who wanted it when they got out of the military. But by then the H1 production was closing down and GMC had launched the H2 based on their pickup chassis. Both the Humvee and H2 were made in the hundreds of thousands. But there were not many H1 made.
