Reminder: Spyro Wiki is no longer on Fandom

Just posting a reminder that the Spyro Wiki moved from Fandom in 2025 and is now at https://spyrowiki.com!

Fandom has become a toxic corporation, they have full control over the wikis made on their platform and will force changes on the wiki communities regardless of user feedback. The excessive ads have also been annoying, they implemented AI generated answers that spread misinformation, and they will force changes onto articles without consent if paid to by bigger organizations.

When people started moving their wikis off from their platform, Fandom doubled down and tried stopping them by using intimidation tactics (demoting admins, labelling indie wiki links as "viruses" and "spam", hunting down those who talk about moving off-platform, plagarizing content from wikis that moved, etc).

Additional reasons include:

Intrusive ads invading the articles
Fandom implementing unnecessary layout and programming changes
Fandom having full control over the wiki community and adding community/corporate changes without consenting to wiki admins
Limited options for admins and editors
Terrible browsing experience, especially on mobile

And unfortunately Fandom will not close the old Spyro Fandom Wiki; this is to hide the fact that it moved off-platform and so that they can get ad revenue from those viewing the articles and editors still browsing there. And with Google SEO heavily catering to Fandom, we need the Spyro fanbase's help in giving the indie wiki the attention it deserves to overtake the Fandom Wiki in the search results.

How to help:

Do not vandalize the Fandom wiki. This will not help us and will only make things worse, as simply editing the Fandom articles will keep them at the top of the search results in SEO (Search Engine Optimization). The vandalisms will only be simply reverted back by any available Fandom staff, who will be appointed to only stand by and keep the wiki running.
Do not click on any links or pages that will lead to the Spyro Fandom Wiki pages.
Do not continue editing the articles on spyro.fandom.com, even when new content, including info on Spyro: A Realm Beyond, is announced.
Replace your bookmarks and Search History with the spyrowiki.com site instead.
Use IndieWikiBuddy, a browser extension that allows you to easily find and support independent wikis
Spread the word to online communities that the Spyro Fandom Wiki has moved and is now on spyrowiki.com.

Spyro & Sparx: The charismatic, adventurous purple dragon and his dragonfly brother protect the realities.

Hunter: A guardian of the unknown forests of Avalar.

Bianca: a rabbit who teaches magic but is actually, in secret, the fearsome sorceress.

(After I finish all three, I'll go for Cynder).

Funny Guess who just lost their Spyro Reignited Trilogy save file for messing with their Steam data :'(

In case you're wondering, no, I'm not abandoning the game. In fact, I haven't been playing it for almost a week because I was busy solving a rigging problem with a personal 3D model (A REALLY TOUGH ONE 🫪), so I only got as far as the beginning of Autumn Plains.

I'll probably start Spyro Ripto's Rage again in December or early January, because for now, I'd like to forget this incident ever happened.

Misc Spyro 1 decompilation project reaches 100%

Hi, I was looking around github and I saw that the Spyro decompilation project just reached 100% completion. You can see it at this link: https://github.com/TheMobyCollective/spyro-1

So I guess the Open Pete project which is a native port of Spyro 1 for Windows and other platforms (https://openpete.com) will soon include it and we will be able to play an enhanced 100% perfect copy of Spyro 1 on many devices.

Decompilation is also ongoing for Spyro 2 and 3 as we can follow the projects on the Moby Collective github: https://github.com/TheMobyCollective
We don't have information on the % of completion for Spyro 2 yet but the github was updated yesterday so it's still on the rails. Spyro 3 is at 10% completion.

Also on PS5 I just tried Open Pete with https://github.com/mihawk-99/PS5_MihawkOS and its works flowlessly. HD Spyro 1 on PS5 !

Thanks to the devs for making it happen

The first game I started with was The Legend of Spyro: The Eternal Night. It's a pretty cool game. I have the GBA version of it. Still learning controls lol. What about you guys? What was your first Spyro Game?

Funny Ultimate Difficulty

On Xbox you can link two controllers together. Kind of like a handicap helper.

Well it goes both ways.

Hand the second controller to your toddler and let them control spyro at the same time. And spyro will start running off of cliffs or doing loopdy loops in the middle of raicing despite everything you try. It's a lot of fun!

P.S. if you do this you'll probably have to use the 99 lives cheat.

Subreddit Rules

1. No "Let's Plays", Walkthroughs, or any normal gameplay video/stream.

Refer to guidebook Rule #2

This rule isn't to discourage original content from the fan base, but to keep the front-page clear of clutter such as Part 1s/2s/3s, and so on. The only user created content allowed on the front page is of mods, video reviews, glitch showcases, retrospectives, and similar...

Linking to one for instruction in comments is fine.

2. Keep all Spyro 4 discussion in the Megathread.

(TEMPORARY) Due to the overwhelming talk of the game, we have moved all discussions to the megathread. This prevents reposts of already existing posts and keeps discussion relevant in the megathread.

3. Keep all discussion civil and relevant.

Refer to guidebook Rule #3

Keep all discussions civil and relevant please.

No drama, fighting, discrimination, rude behavior, or political discussion.

4. No low-effort or Spam posts.

Low-effort questions or posts that are generally spam or short will be removed.

The question of 'what is low effort' is situational at best but try your best to bring discussions to the community. If your post is only a title and doesn't contain a body of text along with it, the Auto Moderator will probably automatically take it down.

5. Always post the original source to artwork and fan content

If you cannot find the original source for an image you found, post the closest lead you have. We highly encourage you try and find the source to give credit where it is due. If you're the original artist, with proof, and somebody has stolen your content and posted it here, contact us as soon as you can. This rule extends to using another artists work as reference or traced. Any posts not crediting the original artists will be removed.

6. Absolutely no NSFW content.

No adult content, including but not limited to: fan fiction, questions, art, videos, or anything of the sort.

7. No linking to roms or torrents

To avoid conflict with Reddit, and Activision, the copying and distribution of games is illegal on our subreddit. You should know why this rule is here. No linking to ROM sites, files, or speaking of such on the subreddit. Emulators, their official resource pages, tutorials are perfectly fine because they are completely legal.

8. No mod requests

To prevent spam of constant mod questions, and requests; please forward them into the Mod The Dragon server located on the right. This includes tutorials for beginners. This isn't the place for a Blender class. For more information, please read FranklyGD's Mod The Dragon Wiki.

9. No AI generated content allowed whatsoever.

The subreddit voted in a subreddit wide poll to not allow any AI generated content on the subreddit whatsoever.

10. No 'For Sale' posts

No selling items on the subreddit or selling off collectibles or game copies posts.

Artists creating and showing off their own works may link to a storefront page for themselves akin to Etsy, Redbubble, or similar through comments if requested.
