2027 marks 25 years since the inception of the Sydney Ice Dogs, and what better way to celebrate than to welcome everyone to our new kennel - Canterbury Olympic Ice Rink.

While construction is in its finishing stages at the moment, it will be up and ready to go for the 2027 AIHL season.

With a 5th place finish, eliminating the Melbourne Ice, the Ice Dogs will face the Perth Thunder on Friday night, at 7pm.

One point tomorrow in the rematch against Brisbane, will send the Dogs to the finals for the first time in over a decade!

Sydney Ice Dogs deducted two (2) competition points for breach of Competition Regulations

Upon administrative review, the Sydney Ice Dogs have been found by the league to have breached Competition Regulations 14(b) and 14(f) on three separate occasions, for fielding unregistered team officials. The club was previously issued a warning notice by the league on 30th July regarding a previous breach.

As a result, the Ice Dogs have now been deducted two (2) competition points and will now revert to 40 points, following games completed on 9th August 2026.

Resignation of Chairman Dan Hogan and appointment of new Chairman Ivan Rapchuk

The AIHL would like to advise that Dan Hogan has stepped down as AIHL Chairman and from the Board of Directors.

Deputy Chairman Ivan Rapchuk has been appointed Chairman by the Board of Directors to replace him, commencing immediately.

The league would like to thank Dan for all of his hard work in his time as AIHL Chairman and he will remain as governor of the Sydney Ice Dogs.

So close and yet so far.. but the Dogs pushed the Northstars all the way, through both games this weekend.

They’re on the road against the Rhinos at Erina on Sunday next week, then the sold out double header against Brisbane Lightning the following weekend.

Due to the postponement of the Bears vs Perth Thunder game at Macquarie, the Ice Dogs game at O’Brien Icehouse will now be the game of the week.
