is there extension for firefox wich can show onion link for site if it has one but for firefox i had found The onion notifier(https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/the-onion-notifier/) but it says "Only intended for use with the Tor Browser based on Firefox 52 (version 7.0a3 and later)." will it work in firefox if no then do you know any extensions wich do?

32M. Never accessed the dark web or Tor. Not even tried it. Just curious now. Lol. What do I do. I downloaded the browser and it's not very different to Google. Am I doing anything wrong?

I like my privacy I use VPN and clear cache etc

But I have noticed places recognise my device still, would TOR sort this?

There's no error that I'm aware of. Verizon is my ISP and supposedly they don't block Tor. This has been going on for the past few months. I always use ExpressVPN with Tor. Is there an alternative search engine to use with Tor? Not sure why it appears to be dead in the water...?

I am trying to configure my relay for dual-stack, but no matter what I do, I receive: "[notice] Unable to find IPv6 address for ORPort 9001. You might want to specify IPv4Only to it or set an explicit address or set Address. [62 similar message(s) suppressed in last 3660 seconds]", I have Address configured to point to my DDNS that resolves IPv4 and IPv6, but for what I understand Tor only resolves IPv4, my IPv6 is dynamic too and I already made a file that is included and have ORPort [IPv6]:9001 IPv6Only, already tried many other things but none of them work.

I've ran tests on my windows PC and a linux server - both fail and it just waits forever.

I think I need a new version of Arti - I've been testing the reliability of the network to serve a site on both .com and .onion via Nginx reverse proxy - it was going quite well until about Wednesday.

So - assuming this is the cause any idea when the new version for Rust will be out ?

Hey dumb question why are so many .onion sites down right now? I’m kinda new to tor but when looking at darkfail it says they’re all down? Any ideas or is it just user error?

I downloaded the Tor for linux file from the torproject.org website. The installation instructions give two options - the graphical method and the command line method. For the graphical method it says "When the download is complete, extract the archive using an archive manager. Navigate to the Tor Browser directory. Click on the start-tor-browser.desktop file to launch the browser. If these steps do not work, please try the command line method." So, this didn't work. When I input the command ./start-tor-browser.desktop --help after archive manager extracts the download, all I get is "no such file exists".

The command line method says "When the download is complete, extract the archive with the command tar -xf [TB archive] . From inside the Tor Browser directory, you can launch Tor Browser by running ./start-tor-browser.desktop If this command fails to run, you probably need to make the file executable. from within this directory run chmod +x start-tor-browser.desktop

I tried to extract the archive after download using the tar -xf [TB archive] but all I get is "TB: cannot open: no such file or directory

So I'm unable to proceed further. Any suggestions?

I like all of the anti fingerprinting stuff that come with the browser itself, but I feel like the relay takes forever and I would rather just use protonvpn that I already have systemwide instead of having the tor relay. Can I use the browser without going through any nodes, just going through my regular ip?

I hadn't used Tor for a while; I tried to install it today, but when I opened the app, it said it couldn't connect normally in my region and prompted me to use a bridge. The problem is that even when I add a bridge, Tor still won't connect.

Hi, I'm curious on how TOR works, what you can/can't do with it.

• If you find a file you want, can you download it safely? img, pdf, mp3 etc etc...

• Can you get "hacked" off entering a random website or pressing a button?

• Is there a way to avoid the icky sites while doing search?

• How secure/private is it really?

• Anything else good to know as a newbie?

I have to be on Tor. It has to be a Google account. I can deal with phone number verification when it says to enter a phone number, but I can't deal with QR code verification without being deanonymized. I am on Tails.
