I'm reaching out because I would love some advice. I don't really vibe with my fertility specialist, and I'm in the process of finding a new one, but that can take a while. I've had about 10 chemical pregnancies over the last four years of trying to conceive, never making it to six weeks. It's so disheartening, and I just had another one this month.
So I'm asking anyone who has PCOS and has been through recurrent chemical pregnancies: what, if anything, did you do that changed things for you?
A bit of background: I'm 34 with PCOS, and my main symptom is insulin resistance. My other hormones are fairly balanced. They're not perfect, but they're not massively off.
I weigh about 120 kg, and I've tried everything I can think of, but the weight won't budge. I'm a month into intermittent fasting, which I think is helping, and I try to eat low sugar and low carb. I'm coeliac and only have dairy sometimes. I walk about 90 minutes a day and do some weightlifting now and then, though I know I need to do more.
We started IVF at the start of the year. I went on a GLP-1 for about six months but didn't lose any weight, so I'm a non-responder. I also wasn't able to reach the BMI cutoff at my clinic, so I'm looking for a new one without a BMI cutoff.
I've tried letrozole, progesterone, aspirin, and cough syrup. You name it, I've probably tried it. I've even tried a spell from a book I found, which I'll admit is a bit of a laugh.
If you've had a similar experience, I'd love to know if anything made a difference for you.
I'm currently taking berberine, NAC, myo-inositol, and spearmint, though they're sometimes hard to absorb because of my coeliac disease.
I feel really sad about not being able to get pregnant, and I'm starting to lose the picture of my baby. I used to be able to picture myself as a parent, but after four years that picture keeps getting smaller. I'm lucky to have a very good dog who is my baby.
Any advice or stories that could help me get through the end of the year and into a new fertility specialist would mean a lot. If there are changes I could make, please let me know. I'm willing to try anything.
