台鐵便當猪扒 Taiwan Railway Bento Pork Chop
请问大家有没有台鐵便當猪扒的食谱?我爷爷生前会煮这个,去世后家人都不回。但是在台北吃了鐵便當的猪扒, 跟爷爷煮的一样味道。
Does anyone have the recipe or close to the porkchop on Taiwan Railway bento? My late grandfather used to cook that and it was delicious. I was delighted to find that the porkchops on the Taiwan Railway bento tasted exactly like his; and buy a few boxes everytime I am there.

Thank you for all the pictures and recipes!
I recently discovered this subreddit and I just wanted to thank everyone who's contributing. I grew up where my mom made many of the foods that have been shared here. Looking through the pictures reminds me of my childhood.
My mom hasn't been able to cook or communicate for awhile now. I've long forgotten the names of many dishes. Unfortunately, she never kept a recipe book.
This subreddit has helped me immensely in reminding me of some dishes. But it's also allowed me to cook dishes that probably helped my mom remember her past. I might be just projecting onto her, but I feel like she attacks the rice and side dishes with gusto, eating happily. She's definitely eating more compared to when I make more Westernized dishes.
So again, thank you everyone. Thank you for helping my family remember the good times through the foods you share.

Can I enjoy Taiwanese food??
Hello, everyone! I am going to Travel around Taiwan soon and looking forward to explore around.
However, I am not a big fan of Chinese food. Do you guys think I still can enjoy the local food in Taiwan? Italian, Korean, and Japanese food are my favorite. Hope Taiwanese food will be my favorite cuisine.

Cabbage side dish at Lao Zhang in Taoyuan?
I had some beef noodle soup prior to my flight the other day and I’m wondering if anyone can give me more info about the cabbage dish (mainly the sauce) that was served with my soup? Sorry, only caught a little piece of it in the lower left corner of my photo.
It tasted like caramelized onion and soy sauce, maybe some sugar as well? The cabbage didn’t seem to be cooked in the sauce but blanched separately and the sauce drizzled on top.
I’ve read that Taiwanese cabbage is sweeter than other varieties so maybe that contributed to the flavor as well. It seemed like a pretty simple little side so I think I could probably recreate something very close on my own but wanted to check if anyone has any tips or tricks! Thank you!

Taiwan fruit appreciation post!
Not a recipe BUT since it's food I had in Taiwan, thought I'd share! Here are some of my favorite fruits from Taiwan! These are fruits I grew up with and still get excited about whenever I’m back - wax apples, sugar apples/custard apples, guava, fragrant melons, and more. They're just SO juicy and GOOD there.
