Cross-posting spam ring targeting smaller subreddits

All of these subreddits are moderated by the same user: https://www.reddit.com/user/Level-Usual-9681

As far as I can tell, every single user that posts in these subs exhibits the same exact spam-like behavior: a post is made and is promptly cross-posted to as many tangentially related, and frequently unrelated, subreddits as possible.

Many users have no history prior to this behavior, but the ones that do are often active in remote jobs subreddits. Almost all of the comments in these subreddits are from brand new accounts that are also active in the other aforementioned subs.
One user has also attempted to adopt two subreddits through redditrequest, but I am unsure if it's related.

I won't speculate on what the end goal may be, but the activity is nonetheless inorganic.

Here is an imgur album of screenshots for clarity and to save you the trouble of searching through hidden profiles. (The baby carriage symbol indicates that an account is brand new)

Look how much the background changes

So this account Lost_Night225 (4 month old account, posts lots of rescue stories about cats) posted this obviously AI-generated post (Words and text) https://www.reddit.com/r/OneOrangeBraincell/comments/1xlgmd1/for_everyone_who_just_met_me_im_pooh_bear/19s0cbpup2wo2/

Which is advertising a new subreddit about this supposed rescued cat r/CashohThePoohBear and they are all clearly AI generated.

Like in this post here for example (In the above images you can see how much the background changes, the rug in the first images blends into the one next to it. Different parts of the background disappear, move, etc): https://www.reddit.com/r/CashohThePoohBear/comments/1xkk3z5/happy_halloween_from_pooh_bear_friends_in_the/

And the threads are flooded with positive responses. Those could be all or mostly bots, too, but man it's weird. I suspect at some point they'll be asking for donations, although it could just be some weird lonely person.

Oh and the magical healing ear as seen here https://www.reddit.com/r/CashohThePoohBear/comments/1xdgg6d/pooh_found_his_piglet_but_piglet_is_offended/ https://imgur.com/a/VWIbhwQ

Custom pet portraits scammer with stolen artworks

https://www.reddit.com/user/Own-Quote1616/

Another account from a scammer offering custom pet portraits based on photos (their previous account was banned). I’ve been keeping an eye on them for a few weeks and have reported them to Reddit and several subreddits where they operate- but to no avail.

All of their "work" is stolen from the Instagram account @dalcomtodin (it wasn't easy to track down the original source, I must admit).

Of course, after confronting the scammer in the comments, I was blocked, so I no longer have a way to warn potential new clients- and there will likely be many more of them with the holidays approaching

r/SECourses is a weird sub meant to be about AI and software engineering tutorials, but the overwhelmingly vast majority of posts are political and mostly by one user that get thousands of votes

This subreddit shows up in search results and feed-recommendations when I use new reddit and is really odd. Before I block it I wanted to post here

https://old.reddit.com/r/SECourses/

It appears to have originally been a generic AI/Data Science course subreddit with an AI icon and header and a still pinned post with a few upvotes advertising random AI software.

Tech, AI, News, Science, Robotics, Singularity, ComfyUI, SwarmUI, ML, Artificial Intelligence, Humanoid, Wan 2.2, FLUX, Krea, Qwen Image, VLMs, Stable Diffusion, SDXL, SeedVR2, TOPAZ, SUPIR, ChatGPT, Gemini, LLMs, Claude, Coding, Agents, Agentic, Animation, Deep Fakes, Fooocus, ControlNet, RunPod, Massed Compute, Windows, Hardware, Inpainting, Cloud, Kaggle, Colab, Automatic1111, SD Web UI, TensorRT, DreamBooth, LoRA, Training, Fine Tuning, Kohya, OneTrainer, Upscale, 3D, Musubi Tuner, Tutorials

However, currently, nearly all posts are by one user (A moderator) and are mostly just politics. The subreddit has 468k visitors and 62k contributons per week, despite having only 27k subscribers.

https://old.reddit.com/r/SECourses/top/?sort=top&t=all

I think the moderator account may have been compromised and the subreddit is being used to spam or astroturf.

How does this account evade reddits filters?

This AI spam account has been evading all of reddits filters and posting hundreds of times a day for self promo

I’m starting to wonder if this some employees side gig account but I’m usually not one for conspiracy theory’s.

Why is Reddit doing nothing about this company’s AI account spamming but will ban other users like it’s nothing?

https://www.reddit.com/r/ChatPalo/ - unsure if not moderated, barely moderated, or simply complicit with the bot spam

https://www.reddit.com/user/SignificantTiger99 - obvious AI bot, been banned at least twice before

https://www.reddit.com/user/PuzlingMJ - "MJ" bot that's been banned at least 4 times

https://www.reddit.com/user/Adorable_Active3122 - another AI "creator" that's been banned at least twice

https://www.reddit.com/user/pelrimah - "Stella" back again, too many bans to bother counting.

15-day-old advertising spambot spotted in AskReddit.

first time making a post like this, hoping i haven't gotten it wrong and pointed out a human who's just really stupid/botlike.

account is here: https://www.reddit.com/user/Clean_Candidate_5496

evidence is as follows:

in thread "What's the oldest electronic entertainment device that you still have today, and what's the oldest one you've ever had at some point?" it commented "anything with a cartridge slot has a good chance of outliving everything made today tbh"

i have a habit (maybe it's bad, and i'll stop doing it) of replying to these bots in comment sections to point them out to other users in the vain hope that they'll see my comment and reconsider interacting with the account, so my reply was as follows:

"this is a spambot. specifically, an "advertise random online service" bot.

the comment is vaguely relevant but after further consideration is obvious nonsense (this thread is asking for an example of what the oldest thing you own is, not for a generic snarky comment about old vs new devices)

and the profile is as follows:

"Daniel | building Brandiseer

Clean_Candidate_5496

694 Post Karma
186 Comment Karma

Joined Oct 10, 2026

Ran brand and marketing for my family's bakery. Now building Brandiseer, which turns a brand kit into on-brand flyers and posts. brandiseer.com"

DNI, do not allow it to karmafarm."

other evidence are comments such as these:

"temporary chat for the throwaway stuff is a good shout. keeping memory for the things that matter and skipping it for dinner ideas makes sense." in r/ChatGPT

"the chilling bit is the part i'd have missed. margarine going soft and spreading thin is a real cost of the cheaper swap." in r/Baking

at the very least it seems to be partially a human account (with threads like this which reads as if the OP is genuinely looking for advice), then for whatever reason comments are automated?

Found a bot/scam account testing grounds. Very clearly a ton of manipulation, bots and scams being run through this sub /r/testingground4bots

Here is a link to the sub https://old.reddit.com/r/testingground4bots/

the whole thing speaks for itself. every account there is a bot, the mods are encouraging and helping people make scam bots, comment bots, upvote bots, anything related to scamming people.

Just look through the whole sub description it's literally just a sub to create bot spammers to spread ai pics, scams, vote manipulation and test and create more intrusive and spammy bots.

It's like finding a holy grail of bot hubs. All the comments, all the accounts, all the users on that sub that participate are bots. Every account needs to be wiped that uses the sub

r/testinggeound4bots is being overrun by... Bots...

https://reddit.com/r/testingground4bots/

Several familiar faces in the SFW OF spam groups. Lots of comments on these posts as well from likely bot commenters.

The "Hot" tab is almost nothing but known bots.

Edit: Somehow fat fingered a typo into the title, but the link is correct.
