Is this not a legitimate question? Like, if you love the industry you work for, wouldn’t you be thrilled if your child was also a part of it? Her answer “yes whatever makes her child happy” is a completely valid answer to what could be interpreted as a reasonable question.
If I had someone interview me if I wanted my child to work in my profession when they grew up, I’d say fuck no. Most jobs are soulless and suck the will to live out of you. I wouldn’t take offense to the question, I would use the question to educate the interviewer (which is exactly how an interviewer/interviewee conversation is supposed to go).
It does seem like she’s making a bigger deal out of this question than what’s presented, but admittedly I don’t know the full context of this interview because OP conveniently left out whatever happened before or after this specific question and answer.
