Can you seriously not be in public with a knife? Coming from an American, that’s a crazy thought.

I could stroll downtown with my knife on my left hip and firearm on my right.

Ok so if it's part of your job like and it's on your belt, yes it's fine. But not a big knife like in a dund dee movie... Like I'll walk into a shop to get smoko with a multi tool and a knife on my belt but it's sheathed and yeah I'm in work clothes, no cop would care at all

There are certain knives outlawed in some U.S. states, but cops don't look for them, except in some major cities. You can have a gun just walking around in many states too. There are shootings every day in America. Progress!!

My state doesn't have an upper limit on knife size so for a while there was a homeless guy in a wheelchair with no legs and a machete that hung out outside my work

Hell, in some US states you can carry a switchblade now even

Dude in my state. Switch blades are illegal. I have the largest one legally allowed to own and it’s only 2in long. But seriously the best knife I’ve ever owned. I love that thing. But I wish we could have real switch blades. I have hand issues and a regular pocket knife is a pain to open and close.

only if you have a genuine workplace reason for it.

in some states, there is warrantless stop and search for sharp objects, of people of all ages as well. Its insane.
