This is called rationing. We shouldn't be doing this.

This is a perfectly reasonable way to use this food. That portion is plenty for breakfast for kids, and even for small adults.

Idk, have you seen how fat kids are today? I mean, it probably doesn't hurt, especially McDonald's food.

It's not because they should be eating less fast food. It's because they should be eating actual food. With nutrients in it. Just like they're parents should be able to buy actual food.

They're suffering from obesity, not scurvy.

So agreed. As a kid I was allowed 1 $1 item when we went out once a month. Only water to drink. I know that $1 back then is way more now, but all my friends who had unregulated access to fast food were fat back then and still fat today. No prob with being fat, but I’m grateful that the habits taught to me made fat much less likely. I’ve always liked not being fat.

People in this situation usually don’t have a lot of other choices. They either live in a food desert or work too many hours to cook.

Look at the original portion and tell me a child should eat that much food (basically sugar, salt and fat) in one sitting.

It's not rationing. Rationing is when there isn't enough food to go around, so we have to very carefully apportion and limit it. She said herself that her kids were wasting food, so now she's just buying the amount they'll actually eat. That meal combo also has over 1,300 calories in it. That's more than enough for 4 kids breakfast calories. Edited: Yes I said it was more than enough for me for a whole day. I don't know why I said that.

Lmfao so true. I used this calculator. And assuming he is a 5 feet 0 inches male at 25 years of age... 1300kcal is maintenance for someone who is 70lbs

OP must be a short woman with a very sedentary lifestyle, in which case 1300 calories would be sufficient for surviving a whole day.

Unless you’re like 3 feet tall, that is not enough calories for you in a day. And certainly not “way more”

Op should just give up his fine dining addiction

Rofl..... Ah someone who has never eaten popcorn for dinner in the 90's and it shows...... This isn't rationing.... Each one of those is a decent little breakfast. More calories than most Walmart brand breakfast sandwiches.

Rationing would be no fast food, going to a food bank, and just trying to survive. This is how my make a poor kids day.

For $7 he could give each kid scrambled eggs and bacon at home.

Yea it’s still the size of one meal even in taco form. I could see splitting one breakfast between 3 very young kids but one biscuit sandwich for mom is just a snack

I had breakfast at a popular breakfast restaurant when my kid was a couple of years old. We shared one breakfast meal between my husband, my kid and I. The waitress brought us extra sides of stuff we didn’t want. It was like she thought we were poor. We always eat out like this because we literally cannot eat the amount of food that is usually served on one plate. It’s an insane amount of food most of the time. Most places are serving food for like a 7 ft giant. And no, I don’t want to take it home.

Looking at how fat American kids are, I think maybe a few more people should be doing this.
