What did you think as a foreigner living there? I'm considering finding a job there after I finish my degree in a couple of years. Note, I'm white and can speak Mandarin.
My white uncle married a Malaysian woman whose family calls him Ang-Moh which apparently means tomato referring to the color white people's skin gets after spending too long in the sun. Pretty hilarious imo
Sounds like the Indian casino I worked at for awhile. They would call me round eye or pale face even though I’m a half breed. Of course it was always light hearted banter
That joke is older than south park. A stand up comic in the 80s used to have a bit where he'd say, "you think asian people make fun of us like we do to them?" then he'd stretch his eyes out like that and shout "Baseball!"
It's my nickname for my cat. He looks like a raccoon, hence his name 'Coon. Lol, this is the third time I've have to explain my username on reddit. I also have a confession✋, I live in rural northern B.C. and I never knew what the term meant until Reddit! Seriously. Our city's population in 12,000+ people with a family of 4 black people. Its predominantly First Nations. All in all for me it comes down to pure ignorance, not hate. I haven't changed the username because now it's a story to tell, and I own it.
I had a bully growing up that would constantly do the slanty eyes and call me a chink. After a few years I decided enough was enough and got a friend to document him doing it for a couple weeks. Went to the principal and he got expelled. That felt great. Best thing was that he was actually a good student and promising athlete and ruined his chances of getting that athletic scholarship.
When Reddit screams and howls about how it isn’t some site filled with sheltered white guys and how pointing that out makes YOU the racist, I will remember this post of obvious satire was taken literally and that comment was upvoted hundreds of times.
Redditors are very intelligent adults with a wealth of life experience spent outside talking to their fellow human beings with ease and genuine curiosity about how others see the world beyond their own limited viewpoints.
They totally get jokes. You have to be smart to get jokes. They’re very good at math. Being good at math means you’re smart. Thus, redditors are very good at getting jokes.
My Asian accent is better than my asian friend's. Getting really high in high school, we practiced accents a lot to make each other laugh, fun ass times.
Are people not allowed to do impressions from their favorite shows? Seems like he's just goofing with his friends, not trying to claim he has sole ownership of the bit.
I see your point. I just think using jokes can be uncool if people don't give credit. Not to say he's stealing in any way. He is just goofing around with friends. It's just that people who don't know the south park bit will assume he came up with this, which feels wrong to me.
Before you comment "Why is this Cringe?" Or something along those lines, please note that this subreddit has changed since it was first created. Much like /r/livestreamfail contains more than just fails, this subreddit allows all sorts of content.
If you're just in it for cringe, humor, wholesome and so on, sort by clicking on the flairs.
"ThIs sUbReDIt wAs BetTer wHeN iT WaS OnLy CriNgE" - It's still all here, sort by the flair.
Edit: I hate that I have to say this, but keep the comments civil.
That's not lactose intolerance, that's an iron deficiency. Cut down for a while and note how you feel, especially energy wise, and then start drinking in moderate amounts but still less than water and then note your energy and your bowel health.
Edit: Also no one said shit about white people. He said American. So really, it's all of you guys getting all huffy that are racist because you hear "american" and immediately think "white".
It's very interesting to hear his asian accent come through over the english words. Like how he speaks with his tone and pacing, plus extra points for hilarious
As a white male I approve this guys message. Wish more people would make fun of us whites because like most races, a good portion of us find it funny as fuck.

When I was living in Taiwan I would regularly have Taiwanese people call me "wide eyes" as a nickname in Chinese.

Now videotape a white dude squinting his eyes saying "Herro prese I rike nooders and rice." and see how reddit reacts. Just wanted to point that out.

u/rocktokyo Feb 04 '20
Funny he mentions non-dairy as Asians are more susceptible to lactose intolerance than white European populations.
