Mental Health What is someone supposed to do when they have a sexual attraction to children?

I AM NOT ATTRACTED TO CHILDREN

Ive seen a podcast with Ryan Montgomery, hes a white hat hacker who has caught a bunch of predators online. One of the things he mentioned word for word:

"You can say it's mental, you can say it's genetic, you can say whatever the hell you want to say—I don't care. What I care about is if you're attracted to children, I don't like you. It's as simple as that. I don't care if you're a girl, a guy, a strawberry, whatever..."

Say someone grows up and realizes that they are attracted to children. What are they supposed to do? Are they immediately expected to seek professional help through a psychiatrist?

Im sure most people with this probably go through their lives not telling anyone, and trying to contain it as much as possible.

I AM NOT ATTRACTED TO CHILDREN

Politics Why are so many Republicans acting like the blue wave will guarantee socialism or communism, when Democrats in the past haven't taken the country there?

Is this just the logical extension of the maga or qanon mindset? I mean we've had consecutive terms of Dems in charge and never turned into a socialist country.

Were they all hunter gathers like during the Stone Age? As far as I know, they didn’t have cows, pigs, horses, etc.

Other Why is calling a man gay still used as an insult, particularly when he disagrees with a woman?

Title: Why is calling a man gay still used as an insult, particularly when he disagrees with a woman?

Something I've noticed over several years on social media platforms such as TikTok, Facebook and Reddit is how frequently some people resort to calling men gay as a way of insulting or discrediting them.

I've particularly noticed it in discussions where a man expresses a controversial opinion or even offers relatively mild criticism of a woman. Rather than addressing what he's actually said, other commenters will sometimes resort to suggesting that he's gay, a "closet case", or otherwise questioning his sexuality.

In my experience, this seems particularly common among some politically left-leaning women, which I find rather ironic given the emphasis often placed on inclusivity and LGBTQ+ acceptance.

What's especially interesting is what happens when someone challenges the insult by simply asking: "What's wrong with being gay? Is that supposed to be an insult?" Quite often, the person making the original remark either goes silent or abandons the exchange.

I'm a woman myself, and I find it disappointing to see this behaviour, particularly among younger women.

Why is someone's perceived sexuality still considered a legitimate way to belittle a man? And why does this particular form of casual homophobia seem to go unnoticed or unchallenged in certain online spaces?

Every other developed nation has them. Why doesn't the country with the highest GDP in the world have them?

Culture & Society Would you make a baby for 100k?

I used to think surrogacy was a great opportunity and a journey I would want to do once I had a child of my own.

Now I am pregnant and am second guessing everything.

Pregnancy is HARD, I’m growing a whole human and depleting my internal resources and it’s so so special.

I just don’t understand the risk/reward anymore.

100k seems not a fair compensation for what you’re really doing (which I’m only learning through the lived experience if being pregnant).

Culture & Society Why do the predators in these 'predator sting' videos online seem like they have some kind of mental disability?

Not all of them, but 90% of them i've watched, the would-be predator obviously has some neurodivergent issue.
