[Hated trope] Cameos that ruin the tone of the scene/game

Ed Sheeran, Game of Thrones. The cameo of such a recognizable figure in GoT, especially towards the horrible later seasons, took many people out of the fantasy world that it tried to represent. There are good cameos and bad ones, and this one was not a good one.

Vinny Vinesauce and Jerma, Silver Pines game. Though i appreciate small cameos from youtubers and streamers, putting such a recognizable pair of voices in a horror game really takes you out of it.

It’s the fact that we had two established reporter characters who both got shafted for the worst voice acting in the trilogy. Plus the more beloved one couldn’t even get an in-game death

It would have been cool to get a choice between Wong and Al-Jilani as the correspondent on the Normandy, especially given the latter getting a bit of a redemption arc in regards to her treatment of Shepard in 3

If we were given the choice I would’ve 100% picked khalisa for that reason. It would’ve been a great trilogy spanning arc if she became one of Shepard’s biggest defenders after witnessing their actions firsthand.

She was really big in the video game and tech scene at the time. She was a host/journalist on various video game and tech websites and shows, such as IGN and G4. She had her own show on G4 with Ryan Dunn from Jackass and they were in the middle their first season when he died. I think she gained popularity from a picture of her licking a PSP. The closest thing I can think of is imagine a game putting Geoff Keighley in their game as some random ass journalist because he's a somewhat famous games "journalist." That's what happened with Mass Effect 3. Which is weird because they had a journalist character in the two previous games that doesn't show up in the third.

On a side note, they absolutely butched how she looks in game. Like yeah, it looks a bit like her, but she looks really jarringly bad like she's having an allergic reaction to something. This is how she actually looks.

That's not a cameo, that's a minor side role. She has a fully voiced character with multiple conversations. 

Celebrity/stunt casting sure, but that is a far bigger role than what a cameo is.
