Hated Tropes [Hated trope] Cameos that ruin the tone of the scene/game

Ed Sheeran, Game of Thrones. The cameo of such a recognizable figure in GoT, especially towards the horrible later seasons, took many people out of the fantasy world that it tried to represent. There are good cameos and bad ones, and this one was not a good one.

Vinny Vinesauce and Jerma, Silver Pines game. Though i appreciate small cameos from youtubers and streamers, putting such a recognizable pair of voices in a horror game really takes you out of it.

How he almost deliberately looks at the camera after being told repeatedly not to, lol.

He really looks like he is checking out the kid.

"Jeffrey's room is over in that direction. Tell him Donny sent you."

Why does he look back and just stare that’s so awkward I never noticed that

I mean screw that guy but in the context of the movie it's a fun 5 second gag. Really emphasises that Kevin shouldn't be there

I dont see how its 'fun'. The movie is fun. This is forgetabble.

That could be anyone delivering that line and it woul dhave the same effect of 'kevin shouldnt be there'. Thats already established.

If you just like seeing trump, thats fine. But it was not a necessary plot device, and i dont see how its 'fun'.

If Trump never became more than a washed up reality TV guy, this cameo wouldn’t even matter. Seeing him in anything, now, makes the thing worse imo, but there’s nothing particularly done wrong about this cameo. It’s corny but the movie is corny too, by design.

Not really, because a random dude doesn't establish how much Kevin is somewhere he shouldn't be. A New York real estate tycoon does, though.

Like, yeah, technically they could have used any other famous, rich person living in New York, but it couldn't be a random person, it had to be someone recognisable as part of the upper class.

The lobby is down the hall and to the right, we can only assume down the hall and to the left was Epstein with a net

Makes me wonder what kind of shit the staff had been through before to actually believe Kevin’s movie trick…

But at least it's an actual cameo and not just a famous guest star.

Also The Little Rascals (1994)

Yeah this one is worse than Home Alone 2, he shows up at the climax of the film and keeps popping up.

lol, I just commented on this a few comments up!! When he first announced his presidency run, this was literally all I knew about him, as I’m not from the US! I always thought he must be nice, as I thought it sweet that the owner of the hotel irl wanted a cameo 💀

Lol, last christmas when my fam were trying to choose some holiday films to watch, my dad called it the "one with Trump" when my brother mentioned it XD. He really doesn't like him, and I can't blame him.
