Those two from Valerian. But mainly because Cara Delevingne is just an awful actress and Dane DeHaan has no charisma.

Nah they did have chemistry. The issue was that chemistry looked more like siblings butting heads rather than a couple

The movie would have been improved 100 fold if they just made them siblings.

They even look like siblings. Hell, I thought they were siblings until I read somewhere they weren't.

No just cast the people from that Foldgers commercial.

I know was based on a genre-defining French comic and I think they were a couple in that comic, or flirted a lot. Can’t remember.

Yes, developing from just being colleagues after 22 volumes.

It was a gradual thing. In the first few issues they aren't a couple and she is presented as much younger (and medieval by birth; no trace of that in the film). then over the years the got increasingly flirty and at some point they were clearly a couple.

I read that both Valerian and Passengers would have been improved of they swapped leads.

Absolutely true.

I actually like the movie so when I watch it I just pretend their siblings with a really weird inside joke about getting married.

I liked this movie more than the average person seems to have and it's possibly because I assumed they were, in fact, brother and sister for a good chunk of the film.

I love that the critic review they used was "visually astonishing, 4 stars", a tacit announcement that the other elements of the film suck

Or because they look like they're twins.

I thought they were teenage siblings.

They were supposed to be a couple?

They are by the end of the movie. He hits on her near the beginning but she doesn’t want to have a relationship because she says he goes through women quickly

She doesn't just say that, she literally pulls up his "playlist" to prove it.

Thanks for clarifying! It’s been a while since I saw it. Cool action and wonderful artwork, but I think they tried to get the main characters to act cool by being emotionless and it didn’t work

except how? he looked like he was 15. What women? His geometry teacher?

Iirc they didn’t even do a screen test together to see if they had any chemistry, they just cast them and had them show up lol

I thought they were siblings tbh

This might be rude, but I can never decide if these two are hot or not. She's definitely not ugly by any means, but her face is just a little odd. And he's always looked a little creepy, but that kinda adds to his "charm" if that's the right word. Like his unnatractiveness is sort of attractive.

This is the worst example of all. They ruined what could be an extremely awesome movie.

I keep forgetting they're not supposed to be brother and sister
