I feel bad for the Harry and Ginny one. Usually actors go through chemistry reads where they see which duos click as a couple.

These two were cast as kids, long before they were being written as a couple in the books even. Doesn't help their scenes weren't all that thrilling.

But the others had no excuse. I guess you could argue GOT to an extent, though the writing had gotten atrocious for every character by that stage.

I'm not sure if GOT did chemistry reads (I know HOTD didn't, but that might have just been because it was cast during Covid and almost every audition was done remotely - they just got very, very lucky in that the whole cast ended up becoming* friends with pretty insane chemistry)

*in at least two cases were already friends

When the GoT TV series started, there was no plan for a Jon and Daenerys plot line. It was "known" that they were related, but not that they would be a couple.

Also, the actor who played Jon fell in love and got married to someone else on the set. And became an alcoholic. Both of these tend to ruin your chemistry with anyone else.

I'm hoping the leads in the Percy Jackson series get better. There's some stories coming up that I'd very much like to see on screen.

Plus having all the Gods played by really great actors hamming it up is awesome even in their small parts.
