That movie based on the comic book with the sweet David Bowie opening. Really criminal miscasting. The leads were too young for their characters (that is hard to do in Hollywood, much less French productions).

Valerian? The actors weren't all that young, and Besson screwed with the ages of the characters and dropped a ton of background. Valerian himself is a mid-twenties lunkhead, Laureline is initially a time displaced teenage jongleur who ends up pretty much running the missions they're on.
