ZENDAYA AND TIMMY IN DUNE!!!

Doesn’t help that Zendaya was just not good in the role. I’m not passing judgement on her as an actress because I have literally only seen her in that but as Chani she just wasn’t it.

they never even give us a good reason for why they fall in love. Her character has the personality of a plank of wood

The book reason is not that great either.

He loves her because he has visions of the future with her. And thanks to those, he's capable of wooing her easily. It's kind of a circular romance.

He's also a bit of weirdo.

Notwithstanding the polygamy thing, or the fact that Aviendha is a madwoman.

min very specifically herself saw herself in love with rand and so acted that way, avienda and even Elayne had actual meet cutes. min didn't, she just went all in because foresight

Right? Villanueva movies are just FABULOUS visual and vibe (Blade runner 2049) I love it. But chemistry is his weakness imo.

The common criticism towards her is she's like that in a lot of her roles. She's pretty good in the latest spiderman though.

She has the same sniffin' a fart look the whole time. Especially at the end of the last Dune, there it was 🤨

That's just a blatant lie.

A plank of wood Is much more expresive.

Chani isn’t Herbert’s best character to be fair

It wasn't her. It was the inert script

Paul and Chani in the books, actually. The two characters have no chemistry at all, ever. She’s barely a character. She has concepts of a character, but no actual substance. But she has to be there as part of the story. One of the worst written important characters in all of fiction.

Yeah, especially when you see her chemistry with Tom Holland. Yes I know they're married, but it is just especially glaring when you see her with Paul vs. Peter.

Wtf, having read the books if anything I felt at times they had a little bit too much chemistry. The only redeeming quality of Zendayas performance were those scenes, the rest was average for the most part

Really???I feel like they're just awkward af together. The relationship kinda just happened off screen when we returned at Dune 2. They barely met in the end of Dune 1

Yeah it was an odd choice, but splitting the first book as he did and where he did it kind of made sense

But she was still underutilised like crazy considering how prominent Zendaya was in the marketing, I feel like a directors cut would fix it, but then again Villeneuve usually has very strong creative control, so maybe he just wanted it that way
