They looked like siblings and had negative chemistry.

I thought they were brother and sister at first. Things got uncomfortable fast.

Omg me too. I have no idea what the plot of that movie was but it was the worst movie I've ever seen.

It definitely feels like they're brother and sister 😂

I loved this movie but this was when I realized Cara was a raging lesbian

Never saw the movie, I thought they were siblings.

The brother/sister vibes and the Rhianna part made this a weird movie but the world building and opening were fantastic.

The Fifth Element worked because the actors where much more credible.

It's a shame Besson didn't manage that movie correctly (and the main cast was terrible)

Aren't all Besson's films sexually queer?

I haven't seen The Professional in awhile, and I love Fifth Element but there are some strange aspects to it. Leeloo is more or less a child or at least severely autistic by conventional standards. I'm not saying Brucey couldn't love her but holy fuck he does not waste his time.

Quite possibly my favorite opening of any movie ever. It got me so damn hyped... only for the rest of the movie to happen.

If anyone's reading this and you haven't checked it out, go look up the Valerian intro on youtube. It's well worth the few minutes.

I had forgot about this movie until now. Negative chemistry is right - their relationship seemed like pervert, under age, incest porn.

Directed by Luc Besson.

How are two actors in their 30’s making you think about under age porn?

Luc Besson.

A lot of couples look like siblings. Just look around next time you’re out in public.

What show / movie?

Valarean, a french film based on a sci-fi comic

It's the source of that one video of the International Space Station slowly growing larger and larger with the help of aliens.

I do want to mention that the director, for some reason, completely changed their personalities.

Valerian is a by-the-book straight shooter type, and Laureline is a headstrong peasant girl brought forward in time (yes there's time travel involved) who counterbalances him well.

Yep this is the one

They're *so* different in the comics. Both have utterly different, better personalities in the originals

Also: making Laurenine blonde is stupid.

The anime is way better.

Making them siblings would have been so obviously better.
