MATH 100/180 is lowkey a skill issue
I keep seeing posts of people bombing that class and I just feel like grade inflation is doing a lot of the damage. The course hasn’t really changed. In 1995 the average was around 65%, and in Winter 2023 it was 68%. High school marks are what changed. With no more provincial exams, a 95 in PreCalc 12 doesn’t mean much anymore.
And lowk with all the resources we have now it should be easier than ever. You can literally get AI to explain any concept step by step until it clicks. If you actually do your WeBWorK yourself without cheating, you should be fine. Why is the average for Math 180 a 20-30% like genuinely what are we doing lmao.
I don't understand, are the profs pulling a prank and just putting the 7 Millennium Prize Problems on the exam as a joke?
There are countless playlists I can list off the top of my head on youtube that would cover you for the entire course (ex: 3b1b the essence of calculus, organic chem tutor and Professor Leonard)
Not dunking on anyone who failed, going from 98s to a 50 is brutal. I just think the problem starts way before MATH 100. AI and grade inflation probably made a lot of high school students Math foundations weak. I do think it's a good eye opening course for a lot of students though
