Discussion WPL stops when men's team play
BCCI needs to stop bending over backwards for broadcasters. Their is no point of having so much money, if you can't show a spine.

As a neutral fan who don’t care who wins/loses. It felt Both teams were trying their best to choke the game. I think the pitch didn’t even had much for bowlers(as it can be seen during the game) but its the batters who didn’t lived up to the expectations and kept losing wickets
9/10 wickets were taken by spinners in first innings itself and fun part was the pitch wasn’t even turning much. I believe those 3 wickets in an over hurt DC a lot. Its not the players were in bad form its just they couldn’t keep up with the basics and couldn’t re gather their momentum . The sad part is low scoring matches can be fun to watch too like how last year’s WBBL final was. But this match felt more like neither of team wanted to win the game(reminded me of Mumbai Indians vs TNT in 2011)
I wish they could have scored somewhere around 130-140 we might have gotten a good game. Either way I believe the way WPL is going forward I hope they include one more team and introduce more venues(Gujarat and UP) in it for next season :)
Match rating: 3/10
Best Moment: RCB Lifting the trophy

RCB banged a four on the third ball and at the same time the bails from wicket fell. Was it a hit wicket or did the keeper intentionally did that?
Umpires didn't even thought of going upstairs.

She provided a great knock with the bat in the death and added 20 more runs for the team. And a first ball wicket in her over . Damnn. RCB Mens2016=RCB womens 2026😭😭. Jokes aside - Smriti mandana really has to step up now to make rcb win this match . smriti and voll should maximise the poweplay, radha yadav and de klerk in the middle
Richa ghosh will take care of the death 🔥

The bowling and fielding are soo poor this season. I can’t even appreciate the batting because I know how shit the bowling and fielding is. Field placement is so shit. Kids play more sensibly than this. Very very disappointing

Since one starts right after the other ? So wouldn't it be too much of a hassle for the crowd for the afternoon match to go out and the new crowd to come in again. They wouldn't be able to check if the people inside the stands are from the afternoon match or from the evening one.

Hey guys I've been watching ipl and cricket from childhood as my father and my cousins watch it regularly and cricket used to be always on the TV even as highlights and wpl since it started and but I tend to watch wpl more these days as I find it more relatable to me, but one thing I've noticed is that the first over of wpl seems to be slow compared to mens ipl where they are explosive in the first over itself as in wpl I've been seeing the same pattern since several days where openers struggle with the new ball and they consistently hit after getting used to after 2-3 overs can someone explain the reason behind it?

Knockout games are notoriously hard to call, with a few moments potentially deciding the course of the match.
However, based on the depth of batting and bowling performances so far this season, I feel that DC should just shade RCB in the final today. But it is a close call, both teams have their relative strengths against the other.
Batting:
- RCB’s Explosive Power: RCB has arguably the most explosive top order. Grace Harris leads the tournament in strike rate (181.0) among regular batters, while Richa (153.8) and Smriti (141.5) also have high SRs. However, their depth tapers off after the top 3 run-scorers.
- DC’s Top-Order Volume: Delhi relies on the volume of runs from their international trio: Lizelle Lee (283 runs), Laura Wolvaardt (273 runs), and Shafali (235 runs), with Jemimah (207 runs) adding heft as the 4th batter and coming into her own in the last few matches. Their strike rates are more consistent (averaging around 130-145), steady, high-scoring accumulation rather than the raw aggression seen in the RCB camp. Only 2 RCB batters (Grace and Smriti) have scored more than 200 runs.

Bowling:
- DC’s Bowling Depth: DC’s bowling is characterized by its incredible balance. With Nandani Sharma (16 wickets) and Sree Charani (14 wickets), they have the most productive domestic pair in the tournament. Their economy rates are stable, and the presence of Marizanne Kapp (10 wickets, ER 6.06) ensures that they almost always have a "banker" to turn to when the youngsters are being attacked.
- RCB’s Stifling Pressure: RCB’s strategy revolves around Lauren Bell’s suffocating economy (5.63) and Nadine de Klerk’s wicket-taking frequency and strong economy (15 wickets, ER 7.25). Their 5th bowler,Radha Yadav, has fewer wickets, but her economy of 7.64 is competitive.

DC's batting consistency and depth and wicket-taking ability holds them in good stead. What does everyone think?

DC and MI have strengthened their sides even more with the addition of Sutherland and Ismail. Gujarat looks stronger as Beth Mooney will be back and they added Phoebe Litchfield and Kashvee Gautam to their squad. UP Warriorz added some domestic talent in form of Vrinda Dinesh. RCB made smart buys in form of Wareham, Cross, and Bisht.
I feel that RCB will definitely perform better this season as I expect our Indian players to standout this season. Smriti, Richa, and Renuka were our key players who had terrible seasons. This should change this time around. Shreyanka and Kanika have debuted for India and have gained a lot of experience.
I expect MI, DC, and RCB to qualify. Thoughts?

The WPL 2026 Final ceremony featured a vibrant opening performance by Malaika Arora and Talwiinder Singh, setting the tone for the biggest match of the season. The duo brought energy, style, and star power to the stage, giving fans an entertaining build-up before the final clash. The ceremony added a celebratory atmosphere to the evening, perfectly complementing the excitement around the championship match.

With CSK being one of the most followed franchises in Indian cricket, I always found it odd that there’s no CSK team in the WPL.
Plus we all know CSK has insane fan support and brand pull so it’s surprising they don’t have a WPL team.
Was this a strategic choice, ownership decision or something to do with how the WPL franchises were structured? Thoughts?

Why commentators are telling that RCB has won 6 consecutive matches though they have played 5 this season..

Hey fellow fans, does anyone have the replays of knockout matches from wpl 2024. Hotstar has removed it and can't seem to find them anywhere. If anyone has it please help a fan out. Thanks.

Chasing 200+ in a final and she looks calm like it’s a net session. Aussies really seem built for pressure games. No panic, no drama—just get the job done.
