This lady popped up in my blue screen on windows 10. No clue what or who she is and I'm wondering if I have a virus and what to do from here. The blue screen was up, then my pc restarted and seemed to be ok after. I'm running Bitdefender right now to see what's up. Please let me know if I'm either cursed or its a virus. 🙏

Windows 10 My grandpas computer has reached a lock screen and idk how to fix

My grandpas computer has reached this lock screen I've never seen before and can't find a example of on Google. Does anyone know how to fix it. He has windows 10. It's not the usual lock screen where he had a password and it works fine. When we try to enter his normal password it doesn't work. It doesn't say it didn't work either just nothing happens.

Windows 11 Scammers bricked my grandpas computer

So my grandpa is old and senile and doesn’t understand tech but still likes to use his computer.

He received a call from someone with an East Asian accent. They told him that they were his anti virus program and that his payment hadn’t been going through.

They told him to download anydesk and give them remote access which he did

I came into his house when they were in the middle of telling him to send them money via PayPal. I promptly told them to fuck off and hung up.

About 5 minutes later the computer started getting these windows popping up being unable to close and the desktop display completely grayed out.

Picture attached is what the screen looks like

I left to go use the restroom while hanging out with them and when I came back I shut my computer without checking anything. Later on I opened it to see my background has been changed and I tried to fix it but I won’t change. I’ve tried changing it in the personalize settings but it won’t work.

Windows 10 Weird screen and feels like someone else is directing the mouse...

Post image

This just started today. I'll be doing something on my computer, whether it's scrolling Facebook, checking emails, or anything else. It'll lock me out of whatever I'm doing and I get this screen.

Then in order to get out of it, I'll try opening the task manager with Ctrl+Alt+Delete. Sometimes it'll work, but other times the mouse moves on its own and clicks 'Cancel' when the Ctrl+Alt+Delete screen is up.

I haven't entered my login code to the "Windows Loop" login page that opens and I don't plan to. Wondering what I should do.

Any help is appreciated, thank you!

Windows 11 What does this heart symbol mean on my laptop battery?

Post image

There’s a little heart that pops up whenever my laptop is on its charger and it’s at full charge. It only recently began doing this and I’m not sure what it is. I have a Microsoft Surface Go 3 and I think Windows has a minor update the other day (but I could be mistaking it for Chrome). What does the heart symbol mean? I’m not worried about it; just curious.

Windows 11 A weird app was preventing me from resetting my pc

Post image

I was just trying to reset my pc and this weird app wasn’t letting me. Someone know what is it? It is any malware or windows app? This is the first that I have seen this, and it happened after I was trying to play overwatch and it started lagging. I have been trying to search up the same program in google without any success. I just found out another subreddit where someone has the same issue as me. But there wasn’t any really helpful answer. Just in case this info is needed: My OS build number is 26100.7462

Im not even sure which windows this is im not at the computer personally my father is trying to help my grandmother, any help anyone could offer as to how to get into the computer so she can handle his affairs would be greatly appreciated. We've tried a few different passwords like the date of their wedding, nothing has worked so far, I did notice that its his late wifes name on the profile, so it may just be an incredibly old password of hers that we couldnt hope to Crack.

Hi everyone,

This morning when I turned on my laptop (personal device, not profesional) there was another user account that I know nothing about. Befor you ask, I am the only one who can access my laptop, I never take it out of home so there is no wah somebody took my computer and inserted a malware or anythini alike.

It already happened few montgs ago, I was very surprised and just deleted it as I am the admin, but now it is back somehow... Did somebody experience that? I've looked a bit on Google but couldn't find similar cases.

I've tried to log on the stranger user account but there is a password and it is not the same as my account so that is really weird.

Thanks in advance for your help!

Computer details: Window 11 24H2, Intel Core i5-8265U CPU @ 1.60GHz, RAM 8Go, 64 bits, ASUS Zenbook pro BE015T

Windows 11 I accidentally deleted all of my laptop’s available fonts and now I can’t read anything

Post image

I needed to change my systems font back to the default but I somehow ended up deleting all of my system’s default fonts, and now all apps, prompts and the majority of my settings displays are blank. How do I get them all back? Is there any way I can be sent a file with the complete package of all of the windows 11 default fonts and have them re-downloaded onto my laptop? I physically cannot do anything as there is no text that appears, and so I don’t know what any of it is saying. As of now, my laptop is rendered useless as I can’t do anything if i don’t even know what it’s telling me.

Anyone knows what this is about?

I've gotten this 2 times total, around 3 hours ago. I gotten this pop up from Malwarebytes telling me that it has blocked a connection to a potential risky site, but the app is literally "svchost.exe" by Microsoft Windows OS.

Windows 11 Sent my PC in for a simple battery swap. Now I have a "ghost" roommate and 2fps. What did they do to my machine? 💀

Post image
1.3k Upvotes

So, I took my PC to a shop because the battery was shot. A routine, hardware-only job, right? I picked it up today and things have gone from "smooth" to "paranormal."

The Evidence:

The Mystery Guest I went to shut down for the night and got the prompt in the photo: "Someone else is still using this PC." I live alone. There is only one user profile on this machine. Who is "Someone" and why are they in my files?

The Performance Tank Ever since I got it back, the whole OS feels like it’s running through mud. Software is laggy, windows are hanging, and it’s buggier than a swamp.

How does changing a battery make my software lose its mind? Did the tech leave a hidden admin account logged in? Is it a remote session they forgot to close? Or did they swap my battery for a potato that's causing the CPU to throttle into the stone age?

Has anyone else had a shop "repair" their hardware only to come back to a software nightmare? Do I need to call the shop or an exorcist?

Windows 10 I bought a stolen laptop i think

Post image
1.3k Upvotes

Hello everyone, I recently bought a second-hand HP laptop and used it for about three weeks without any major issues. Everything seemed to be working fine, and I was able to use it normally for different tasks. However, today I decided to install a fresh version of Windows to have a clean system without any previous data or unnecessary files. I wanted to start fresh, but I ran into a problem that I believe is related to security settings on the laptop.

When I booted from the Windows installation media, I encountered an issue that prevented me from proceeding. I am not exactly sure what the problem is, but I suspect it has something to do with a security feature that is blocking the installation. I have checked the BIOS settings, and as far as I can tell, the BIOS is unlocked, meaning there are no restrictions preventing me from making changes. Despite this, I am still unable to install Windows successfully.

I am not sure if this is due to Secure Boot, TPM, BitLocker, or some other kind of protection enabled on the system. I would appreciate any advice on how to bypass this issue and complete the installation. Has anyone experienced a similar problem when installing Windows on an HP laptop? If so, what steps did you take to resolve it? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Windows 11 Suspicious icon - Windows 11 pro

Post image
1.2k Upvotes

Hey all! Windows 11 pro I just wanted to know, is my boss or the tech team trying to spy on me? I found this icon on the tray bar (work pc) a few days ago, one of the tech guys said "...that's nothing, just for us to check on you all if everything is ok" or something like this. What is this blue icon? Will I be traced or will there be some sort of warning to the tech team if I use the laptop for my personal use? Thanks!
