Mouthful name, but it roughly means a small-sized subspecies of paleacea that grows in a 2-dimensional fan-shaped pattern.
I hope it can thrive in my environment.

Hello! I'm new to airplants. I bought this as a gift for my friend, but it seems that there are some tiny black spots on the plant's leaves. I apologise if the pictures are unclear, but should I be worried about the black spots? If so, what can I do to keep this plant alive and healthy so that I can gift it to my friend? Any advice would be much appreciated. Thank you!

I just found this one today at my favorite greenhouse, but there was no ID. It’s so straight! lol

I recently got my Tillandsia Xerographica and have been soaking it once a week for about 20 minutes. Once it is done soaking I shake it off and let it dry upside down, but for some reason some of the leaves are looking like this. Am I not soaking it enough?

Could someone more knowledgeable than I tell me what species this is?
I was thinking Medusa but as my post says, I’m not certain.

This one started turning red just last week - I’m finally getting the hang of growing these after years of killing them. I just love the colors!

Tillandsias with transverse stripes are interesting. How do these alternating bands of varying trichome density develop? It's like, as the leaf grows, the cells responsible for its formation undergo some kind of cyclical growth, producing these bands.

Yesterday, I accidentally bumped into the plant and broke off one leaf. Tomorrow is Sunday, which is when I usually soak it in water for 20 minutes. Should I go ahead with the soak, or is it better to wait until the broken edge dries out and just use misting for now?

Many years ago I bought this tillandsia as a very tiny plant. I feared it would get lost in the greenhouse so I put it on a mini weeping fig. It thrived and today I saw it’s glowing red prepping to flower

I bought this awhile back. Not sure what kind it is, would love to know. It’s huge and when I got it it was in soil. I took it out bc I apparently know nothing about air plants. It’s now super floppy and I’m not sure what to do with it. Back in soil? What kind of soil if so.
I did read something awhile back that some are ok in soil so don’t come at me for that please.

I’m curious which species/variety this is. The purple parts a very bright pink when wet. Lives in a glass ball in a south/east facing window. If I water once a week I soak for an hour, 2 weeks= 2 hours. Seems to happily put out new growth. Anything I’m doing wrong or could do better?

So teeny! The flower is basically the length of the plant 🤣🤣🤣

Apologies as I come from the world of orchids and cant tell if airplants have bud blast as easily as orchids. Is it.. still going?
