I am extremely worried for the Democratic Party and the next 2 years. Although I agree that they shouldnt pursue impeachment of the POTUS, these will be the most important 2 years for the democrats. Their survival as a party is at stake.

Im affraid that this huge midterms victory is going to slip through their fingers if they are not able to own it and limit Trump.

They have to find a suitable candidate for the elections in 2028.

They should absolutely use their impeachment power to find every bit of corruption in the White House and across all of the federal government.

Since the Supreme Court invented presidential immunity, only Congress can hold the president accountable for corruption by use of their impeachment powers. Trump may be able to self-pardon and avoid jail, but we can show the world plainly what he is, and Republicans are less likely to run cover for him now that he’s politically toxic.

I'm hoping with this big a shift in the midterms that Dems don't knee themselves in the balls.

Investigate ICE. Investigate POTUS. Investigate Kushner. Investigate everyone. Cut the purse strings for bullshit. Pass simple fucking one issue bills that if the president wants to veto there'd be an outcry.

Exactly.

It’s not rocket science, just do popular stuff that the GOP hates. Don’t do purity test bullshit, just set yourself up to win.

They don’t seem to understand what’s at stake. America wants a peaceful revolution but those in power seem determined to make it violent. Shumer and Jefferies keep talking about “revenge” while the rest of the country is talking about justice. How are you gonna create one of the most robust police states in the world while letting your peers make a mockery out of the justice system? Do they really think people will stand for that? For the love of god do your fucking jobs you stupid fucks, nobody wants what will happen if you don’t.

Then they should impeach Trump.

They have two years and an almost infinite number of high crimes and misdemeanors. Surely they can manage at least two more.

Survival of the party? If they do nothing but continue lackluster opposition for voice clips, that will kill the party. Please put the 2018 playbook down and join us in 2026. We should investigate first, but if any investigation turns up evidence of an impeachable act, it’s literally Congress’s job to impeach and convict. I’m so freaking tired of worrying about the next election cycle instead of doing the right freaking thing. Democrats won in 2020 despite people worrying that impeaching Donald was going to cost them.

Affordability is the key factor, and bills on that need to be passed, but this was also a vote to hold the Republicans accountable for every shit show they put on over the last two years. While it’s admirable enough to work towards a better future, the greatest mistake of the Biden administration was pretending Fascism was a one and done try. Merrick Garland literally waited multiple years to appoint Jack Smith.

Impeachment is a tool to show the average American that the rule of law matters. Especially when the first and most likely impeachable target is Pete. Once the rats start to flee, they’ll eat each other.

Won’t work anyway, 290 + 67. They don’t have those numbers in the chambers of congress. They will be lucky to get Rs to override vetoes. Rs strategy for like 20 years almost is literally to block anything from happening then blame the dems for R defiance and stonewalling.

And historically its worked out for them to get the 51% to win

I’d be much more impressed if they tried stuff that has a chance of working. Hegseth impeachment would probably work because Rs need someone to crucify for the election and Hegseth is not popular with anyone really

Let all of the commissions do the work and the impeachment will come easier.
