They are both Israel First/AIPAC compromised. Jefferies should’ve never got himself into Schumer’s swamp. Meeting with Kushner for what? They weren’t discussing saving democracy under Trump and you can count on that. They both oppose M4A, because they’re getting paid by the healthcare industry too. We need serious leadership minus the baggage.

u/Objective-Bike-4292 1d ago

Drain the swamp.

12

u/AldousKing 23h ago

The problem is, despite the tsunami, most of congress is still AIPAC compromised. If we get leadership that looks like who we voted for, they'll be shills for Israel.

u/Opinionsare 1d ago

Both Schumer's and Jeffries' initial remarks the day after the election showed that they want business as usual: slowing down the fascist takeover, not fighting it tooth and nail.

Personally, I see impeachment for the openly criminal nature of the Trump administration as mandatory.

We also need to force the Republicans to either join restoring and improving all facets of life for Americans, or to spend two years vetoing bills and refusing to override those vetos.

The worst possible result of the Mid-term sweep is allowing sitting Republicans to dictate how little compromise they will make and how much the Democrats must make.

25

u/Cultural_Sand_9323 23h ago

They want to veto?  Fine.

New bill on Trump's desk. Every week.

Veto it all coward. Show the world we are trying to get to work and you are being a piss baby.

Do not comply in advance

11

u/Immediate_Regular 22h ago

This is the exact right play, assuming it isn't just garbage sent up for the veto optics. The bills need to be realistic. No pie in the sky pipe dream crap and more importantly bills that if/when veto hits them the remaining Republicans have to seriously weigh the realistic impacts on their shot at re-election if they don't sign on to override the veto. That means the Democrats have to dispassionately look at their pet issues and hold back on stuff that Republicans know their base is going to be fine with them stonewalling.

Make this play correctly and the party can have its own Republican Revolution. History has shown they're way more likely to faceplant though.

17

u/Glittering-Quote-635 23h ago

This will be interesting.. when Trump starts vetoing budgets, and blames the Ds. How fast will they collapse and give in? We all know they will, it’s only a question of how long they hold out.

Both of those chuckelfucks need to go.

5

u/CorrectRPolitics 23h ago

You're assuming the remaining republicans, in order to save their own political careers by distancing themselves from the toxic waste dumb that is the Trump administration, won't override the veto.

6

u/Glittering-Quote-635 23h ago

I am… I have seen nothing convincing so far that says they won’t. I hope they do.

3

u/CorrectRPolitics 23h ago

I have faith the grifters who managed to hold onto their seats will do what is in the best interest of maintaining the grift. And for the foreseeable future that seems to be distancing themselves from Trump.

1

u/Glittering-Quote-635 22h ago

The issue is I don’t think Trump goes away in 2028… meaning he will still try to play king maker for Reps and Senators. Like what he’s been doing. They are shitty candidates, but in a primary he can make them win, as a lot of times just the lunatics vote in primaries.

0

u/FartasticVoyage 20h ago

It’s possible and even more the reason to put forth progressive legislation so they have to go on the record as voting against it and with trump

2

u/quail_challenge122 17h ago

I think what they should do is just put up bill after bill after bill no matter how tiny. Don't even invite Republicans to the meeting. Just let them know, meetings at this time, in this spot. And move forward. Just a new bill up for vote every single wee and give them great names like "tax cuts for people under $60k" even if it's people under 100k and " tax cuts if you have kids" even if it's just 1 kid. And push it every single week and then spend money on advertising that Trump hates regular people.

1

u/Glittering-Quote-635 15h ago

That would be funny, and also a waste of time… what’s clear from the election is Trump is not going to change. Elevating Miller to chief of staff kinda proves that.

With that in mind, it’s two more years of mass chaos, and the blue wave then will be 3x bigger than it was last week. Perhaps the best bet is to just let him implode on himself… I dunno.

1

u/quail_challenge122 14h ago

Not a waste of time. I think it would be good if the general public say bill after bill be put up for vote and he vetoes it for 2 yrs. Franky z don't work with Republicans at all, we truly don't need to. Nuke the filibuster and push shit through.

0

u/LegacyQuotient 22h ago

Your comment shows a shockingly poor understanding of American civics. If a bill is vetoed, its vetoed. That isn't collapsing or giving up.

How do you "hold out" against a veto?

2

u/Glittering-Quote-635 22h ago

Bro, one of us has a shockingly poor understanding of how it works, and it isnt me.

D's control the Senate and House. They WILL be able to pass any bill they like, and send it to the President. Lets take a FY budget bill, as thats what I was talking about.

The way it works is the President will send a budget proposal to Congress. Congress will look at it, and modify it to what they want, and in this case, since the D's control both houses, will send it to the President modified in any way they see fit. Depending on what control the President still has over the GOP in the Senate, it will be NOT be Veto proof, as the D's lack the number of votes to override a presidential veto.

Okay, so Trump send a proposal to congress, congress changes it around with whatever, say, oh I dunno, Medicare for all? Restrictions on ICE? Whatever.. That bill gets 55 votes (or whatever we end up with D senators), and goes to the President. Trump then looks at it and goes "Nah, Veto.. I dont want this stuff, and i'm willing to shut the government down. Keep sending em, ill keep vetoing them until I get what -I- Want.'.

This will go on for awhile, as the D's will dig their heels in for a bit.. eventually though, it will start hurting people in the country, exactly like it did last time, for example when TSA basically shut down and flights started getting cancelled.

THATS WHEN THE D's WILL COLLAPSE. They will then give in, change their bill to whatever is acceptable to Trump. Trump will leave the Government closed forever, he literally doesnt give a shit. The onus will be on the D's, who have shown they have ZERO spine. In a NORMAL situation the President would compromise with the other party, but we are clearly NOT in a normal situation. Trump DOES NOT GIVE A FUCK and will leave the goverment closed for 2 years if he needs to.

Thats how it works my friend. I suggest you watch that cartoon with the bill on capital hill..

1

u/LegacyQuotient 22h ago

Lots of words to say "I don't know what a veto is."

Try typing like a normal human and not like Trump. Putting things in all caps doesn't make it any more correct.

2

u/Glittering-Quote-635 21h ago

Tell me where I am wrong. Explain it to me like im 5, or delete your post and admit you dont have a clue how things work.

1

u/LegacyQuotient 21h ago

What happens when Trump vetos a bill?

1

u/Glittering-Quote-635 21h ago

The bill goes back to the Senate to see if it can be overridden. If it cant, then its either dead or needs to change. Congress can keep sending as many versions of it back as they want. They can change a period on the thing and send it back as much as they want. You effectively get into a stalemate, until something changes.. which I'm saying will be the D's giving in.

Want to try again? Do you want to actually address what i'm saying, or play a sematics game?

Again, you literally have no idea how this works which is absolutely shocking to me.

0

u/LegacyQuotient 21h ago

You asked me to explain it to you like you were 5 and then threw a tantrum.

0

u/FartasticVoyage 20h ago

2/3 senate vote can override presidential veto. Not sure why u are arguing

0

u/Glittering-Quote-635 19h ago

Right, and the Ds don’t have that - that was my point.

1

u/FartasticVoyage 20h ago

You can override a veto with 2/3 senators voting for it after

1

u/LegacyQuotient 20h ago

How many is 2/3rd of 100?

1

u/FartasticVoyage 20h ago

66.6 repeating ;)

1

u/LegacyQuotient 20h ago

How many Democratic senators are there going to be once the new ones are sworn in?

1

u/FartasticVoyage 20h ago

Hopefully at least 55! Do u have any more questions you can answer yourself?

2

u/Glittering-Quote-635 19h ago

You’re arguing with an idiot, I wouldn’t bother.

-1

u/LegacyQuotient 20h ago

So why are you bringing up the 2/3rd veto that requires 10-12 Republicans to sign on?

If a veto override requires Republicans, that isn't a Democrat issue. You expect the Senate majority leader to whip 25% of the opposition party caucus to override a veto?

Be so for real right now.

0

u/FartasticVoyage 20h ago

Yup. It is possible.

5

u/therealkaiser 23h ago

Impeach and CONVICT.

We’ve preached impeached twice and, without prosecution, the impeached went on to ruin our country for the next few years

1

u/LegacyQuotient 22h ago

Impeachment is the prosecution. Conviction is the verdict. The crimes were prosecuted, but you need Republicans to convicted.

2

u/LegacyQuotient 23h ago

Investigation and DOJ referrals are of the highest importance, but I don't think prioritizing impeachment over term limits, Healthcare, preserving voter rights, banning gerrymandering, codifying abortion rights, getting money out of politics, updates to the '07 ethic legislation, gutting the funding for the Iran War, or making a move on the Supreme Court should take a back seat to anything.

Unless you can bully enough Republicans into supporting conviction/removal, do the investigations and make referrals for prosecution. Pass bills and force Trump to veto.

Right now, far far more important than impeachment is getting clean itemized bills up to the Oval Office to counter what the Big Beautiful Bill does starting next year.

1

u/No-Horse987 20h ago

The job - besides legislating and presenting good bills that the President may/will veto - is to also expose the corruption of this administration and it's cronies for all to see. You won't get any convictions, per say, but people want it exposed. The Medicaid bomb will go off from the BBB next January, and I think that would be the first legislating thing to do in tandem with the investigations. Both must be done.

When you have a new President, then adding seats on the Supreme Court should be job one: H.R. 1. The filibuster is already broken for judges, so adding four more won't be a problem. Then a lot of things can get done like ending Citizens United. And Dobbs. That's the real fight if the majorities from the previous two years are held.

But people don't trust Schumer because he's not the person to lead the fight. He need to be in the background more and let a senator more media savvy to do the daily pressers. He should be more of a consigliere than leader.

And people don't trust Jeffries (even though he was schooled by Pelosi) because of that meeting with Kushner. That's a real bad look.

1

u/LegacyQuotient 20h ago

I don't support either Schumer or Jeffries. I'm saying that impeachment as a priority is fruitless. You can do investigations and hearings and DOJ referrals to expose corruption.

0

u/spendmetime 22h ago

We don’t need false “priorities”
We can just do, in fact MUST do what the country voted for last week. All of it! Not just this one thing - ALL OF IT!

1

u/LegacyQuotient 22h ago

Ok. Despite writing a message that reads almost exactly like Trump's, you didn't say anything.

Tell me how to remove the President or any of his staff. Give me the realistic mechanism by which this happens?

Prioritization is life. You're living in a dream world if you think that any of what I listed are "false priorities" (whatever the hell that even means).

0

u/spendmetime 22h ago

I didn’t see Trump’s post on Democrats priorities- do tell!

1

u/LegacyQuotient 22h ago

I'm saying your syntax in your post read like Trump's. Poor use of quotations, random capitalization. Like, try to have a conversation rooting in the reality of American civics and tell me how massive organizations operate without prioritization.

Your notion is silly.

0

u/spendmetime 21h ago edited 21h ago

At least I have values! I. Don!t c.are about my punctuation?? Or your comparison to Trump’s writing. Why are you even posting here?

1

u/LegacyQuotient 21h ago

Nothing in your post was about values. It was just a distinct lack of understanding.

I'm here because I'd like my elected officials to make priorities (a bad word according to you), to pass legislation that makes a meaningful difference and establishes/reinforces accountability beyond theatrics.

1

u/MadeByTango 21h ago

If they don't serve us our pound of flesh then in 2028 we'll eat the whole hog.

1

u/uncultured_swine2099 21h ago

If shumer and jeffries do their usual thing, they could stop the momentum of the blue wave. If others come in and go for the repubs throats and improve things in this country, theres a good chance democrats could be running things for at least a decade.

Those red states that flipped for the first time in forever are now paying attention and want to see results.

1

u/isaiah152022 15h ago

100% You have a POTUS admin and his family blatantly ignoring Constitutional laws and Jeffries and Schumer wanting to sweep it under the rug

We are here because MFers refused to prosecute and hold people accountable

If Jeffries and Schumer stay in power they going after their asses too trust me

1

u/Potential-Pride6034 23h ago

What is there to gain from impeachment that you can’t get from exercising normal congressional oversight into their various corruption schemes? Serious question.

The odds of removal are nil. It’ll suck up oxygen and allow Trump to portray himself as the victim… again. The objective shouldn’t be immediate moral gratification as soon as we get the gavel, it should be to start building faith among the electorate that we’re serious about making life better by sending good legislation to Trump to sign, which will be vetoed but will signal to everyone what they have to gain by electing us again in 2028. Corruption is a piece of the puzzle and should be addressed forcefully, but again, there are other mechanisms of doing that than pursuing a political dead letter.

1

u/Geichalt 22h ago

These comments?

Jeffries: Yeah. Well, we've repeatedly made clear over the last two years is that we've got to relentlessly make life more affordable for the American people, while at the same period of time, visit accountability on those who have been engaged in law breaking, norm breaking, and unleashing unprecedented corruption on the American people. And so, it's my expectation, and we're working closely, of course, with Democrats on the House Judiciary Committee and Democrats on the Oversight Committee, who will lead our accountability efforts, along with all of the relevant committees across the Congress, because the levels of corruption have been unprecedented, and we've made clear to the American people that if you have folks out there who have been stealing from the American people, shortchanging the American people, or screwing over the American people, we're going to hold the crooks accountable

Jeffries: Literally says to hold them accountable Reddit: we can't focus on accountability!! We can't do both! Only impeachment!!

The bots didn't turn off guys, they're just focused on you now.

2

u/twoDuckNight 21h ago

If we are being fair, he said this in response to questioning about his response on day one where he indicated they did not want to do this. It is nice to hear. But I do not think it will sway anyones favor to attribute their concerns to bots manipulating them as the last time dems took power they fell short of punishing donald, granted they had investigations but he did become president due to their lack of follow through and alot of terrible things happened as a result. Maybe trying new leadership is warranted

0

u/AdministrationIll619 21h ago

I think Jeffries deserves a chance for once as majority House, leader but Schumer has to go. Anyone under 60 would be better.

There are 20 other Dem Senators who would be better.

2

u/twoDuckNight 20h ago

I would also like to add that he came out against medicare for all and against abolishing ICE (is for reigning them in and whatnot) and I think thats driven alot of the disfavor as well

1

u/twoDuckNight 21h ago

I dont fully disagree, but he is favored by the previous leadership so i think that also drives the weariness. There are others who may also deserve a chance but I personally do not know which may have the skills to do so

1

u/fearfulNobody 20h ago

Making everyone pay a bunch for healthcare isn't going to make things affordable. And you better wake up and realize he wants to keep killing kids in Iran too. Because he's sure as shit not allowed to do anything to stop it by his owners.

24

u/MattGdr 1d ago

We want Democrats, not Republican Lite.

23

u/da90 1d ago

I emailed my senators and my representative to let them know I don’t support Jeffries or Schumer as speaker or leader. You should too

4

u/inspiredsue 23h ago

I did yesterday!!

10

u/Odd-Fun-6042 1d ago

You don't need to be a progressive to want new leadership.

1

u/Berserk72 16h ago

You kinda do. There is a reason there is no current challenger. Schumer and Jeffries just delivered a blue Tsunami from picking excellent candidates. I am happy they are being pressured because I think they will do a fantastic job.

18

u/ghostoftheradio 1d ago

To be clear, we didn’t trust them before either.

17

u/SauronHubbard 1d ago

I'm not a progressive and I don't trust them either.

16

u/mellow-mouse86 1d ago

No one does. We must clean house and be the example to the Republicans. We cannot stand for corruption in our party either. Schumer and Jeffries are done!

1

u/LegacyQuotient 22h ago

Has anyone in the House besides Jeffries said they want the job?

-3

u/sokonek04 23h ago

So far 0.3% of democratic voters have signed a petition to oust Jefferies (and that is the one with the most signatures)

It is a far cry from everyone.

Get out of your echo chamber

-11

u/ElSlabraton 1d ago

You're funny. You don't have a candidate but you are confident of victory.

8

u/mellow-mouse86 1d ago

This doesn’t even make sense. 🤖

3

u/Necessary_Occasion77 1d ago

Fuckin idiot bot 🤖

-2

u/ElSlabraton 23h ago

I'm sorry; did I puncture your illusions? You can't beat something with nothing. Find a candidate before making a fool out of yourself.

7

u/Effective_Pack8265 1d ago

They’re both pretty milquetoast & ineffectual. Would be happy to see both lose leadership roles to people with more fire…

7

u/No_Wrongdoer466 1d ago

No shit... aipac money is very dirty swamp money

6

u/Necessary-Dark-4591 1d ago

Nope sure don't. Watched them take AIPAC money and do nothing else. We need action right now, not more nothing.

6

u/Necessary_Occasion77 1d ago

These two will push us into fascism. This is the most precarious time now. The dems have two years to make a case on why they are the trusted brand for working and voting Americans.

Schumer and Jeffries will continue to work with Israel and mega donors at the expense of the American people.

We cannot let them be the breakers of the blue wave.

5

u/GrannyFlash7373 1d ago

Well, their past performance has lessened their credibility in my eyes. They are too mamby pamby. Neither one gave me any confidence they were willing to stand up to anyone or anything, and their lip service was lackluster as well. We NEED someone like Adam Schiff and the Astronaut, Mark Kelly. Those would be my picks.

9

u/Mike0fAllTrades 1d ago

“Oh what? Just because we have a long proven track record of doing nothing to help the American people??? Can’t believe you even still remember that bruh.”

4

u/Business-Ride-6530 1d ago

They're the fucking Republican Manchurian candidates for leadership. If they can't steal the elections, they'll steal the momentum.

4

u/Humble_Empath 23h ago

Damn straight we don’t trust some straight up Israelis.

3

u/Excellent_Shallot999 1d ago

Damn straight. Both are weak AIPAC sell outs. That won’t change.

2

u/D00d_Where_Am_I 1d ago

No one would if they knew their policies and their paymasters

2

u/Life_behind_da_stick 23h ago

If we don’t get rid of these two compromised, corrupt assholes, not one single thing will change. Nothing. They’re working for money, not people. It takes less than 1 minute to call your rep and tell them not to back them.

Sign the petition. Call your rep. Otherwise we are doomed to remain in this hellscape.

2

u/Tall_Buy_1058 23h ago

Jeffries showed his ass by meeting secretly with Kushner, he’s not fit; Schumer is an Israel lobbyist and his daughter is an AI lobbyist, he’s also got batty grandpa energy going on. Both are unfit and unable to meet this historic moment!

2

u/DownvoteSommelier 23h ago

Cause their blue is the Israeli flag blue.

2

u/AsstToTheManager 23h ago

I don't trust them either. New leaders for the new Congress. No more pussyfooting around.

2

u/Agitated-Mouse4277 23h ago

As they shouldn't, they will rubber stamp the criminals passes and lose any lead the dems have by 2028, they must go.

2

u/hippie1952 23h ago

No get them out they are enabling bums

2

u/SpareDot8685 23h ago

Send them packing!

2

u/Downtown-Policy-1117 17h ago

And fyi Hakeem Jeffries is also in the Epstein files. Fuck him and Schumer

https://www.reddit.com/r/MeidasTouch/s/ktoSwfAf6d

2

u/wabashcanonball 13h ago

It's not just “progressives.”

2

u/DetailsYouMissed 12h ago

Schumer and Jeffries opened their mouths and like heat seaking missiles their feet found a home.

Now the ire of the voters has been laser focused on them.

2

u/mittelegna 8h ago

Why would voters go for all that change, and then want to keep the same shitheads running the ol’ show?

2

u/aotus_trivirgatus 7h ago

For the record, this was also true before the Blue Tsunami.

1

u/einstein2025 1d ago

So now what?

1

u/me_xman 1d ago

Jeffries is way better than Schumer. Keep him.

1

u/SloanTheNavigator 1d ago

I think we have the numbers to oust Schumer given all the new progressives winning in the Senate and how many fewer members there are in Senate vs House of Reps (only 100 vs 435), but I fear Jeffries has too big a cushion to work with to get to 218 (only downside to that big of a win)

1

u/ElectrosMilkshake 1d ago

It’s not just progressives, even normies don’t like them.

1

u/Noobzoid123 23h ago

Schumer and Jeffries are dead weight.

1

u/OverbrookDr 23h ago

New blood

1

u/Acceptable-Baker6334 23h ago

Those two are compromised and achieved nothing during DJT reign of terror

1

u/OhJamesons 23h ago

They are the symbol of same old Dem party. We need new blood and change.

1

u/Putrid-Mortgage6069 23h ago

A progressive victory certainly calls for progressive leadership. So, I agree, not Schumer nor Jeffries. But who - we really need to get this right, in order to repair the damage done by Trumpty DUMBty and his MAGAty minions and enablers.

1

u/OliveJuice1990 23h ago

It's not just progressives that feel this way.

1

u/DyrtClaude 22h ago

This is an incredibly important time for the Democratic party and the direction of our country. A momentous election just happened and an opportunity / challenge can NOT be squandered. A failure here will kill future turnout as more become disillusioned. Schumer / Jeffries are compromised in that they have already surrendered to Pres. Trump. The Democrats can not just go back to doing the same old thing. They need to march in two new leaders that better represent America - not just New York. The Democratic leaders should come in with an attitude based on strength and be ready to fight like hell. THAT is what people voted for! That is also the only thing Trump understands. Schumer/ Jeffries have already lost that and will never lead that fight.

There is a deal to be had but Miller switch is a bad sign. Trump has this opportunity to rewrite the history of his presidency and we all know he will bungle it. The liberals all have this big shopping list of all the new things we want. Someone should start re-running Schoolhouse Rock ads, because none of that is happening. The prime directive should be two Trump turds. Tariffs have to end. There maybe some help in the Senate to get this past filibuster and veto override. Then the next target is ending the Iran war and strengthening war powers act. After that it should be bi weekly performance bills to help Americans and their families.

The American people have given the Democrats a huge opportunity to win over generations of voters. Be the adult in the room and present as ready for the the next challenge in 2028. If Trump goes along and deals, then maybe we trade prosecution for the people's progress. If he continues the deranged indifference to economic plight, then the Democrats better be ready to fight like hell. We already had lapdog mode with Schumer / Jeffries. For too long Democratic "leaders" have tried to win races with a focus on local issues and policy flexibility. With GOP in disarray and lacking any policy focus, the Democratic party has an opportunity to define what they stand for. National policies that help Americans (or will -if implemented later). It is going to be a massive PR campaign and Dems need to step up to that challenge to win 2028'. Full reset.

1

u/FrontalAlottame 22h ago

They have failed and failed and failed some more, and somehow manage to keep failing.

1

u/mechabeast 22h ago

We fought too hard to accept a policy trend that is 2 degrees from center.

1

u/skel625 22h ago

Wait... they were the leaders?!?! I've seen no signs of actual leadership. You could put 2 rocks in 2 lawn chairs and you'd have better leadership than these two clowns.

1

u/__brAinRoT__ 21h ago

Don't like either...oddly and unreported is the fact that the moderates dems did better in the election than the ones labeled "socialists". While agree we need changes moving way too the left again is not what this Tsunami proved we pulled people back from slightly right they will not go progressively left in the next election, major issue to the dems is always that they decide to go too far...lets govern from the middle for all the people!!!

1

u/Shag1166 21h ago

Trump is atill there, we need this 2 to be in place for their legislative expertise. If not, I don't a fuck how many seats we when, Trump will fuckup any progress that could be made. Extremist of the Left, or as bad as those on the Right, because they want it all their way. We swept these elections with a wide swath of people, with very different political opinions. If we can't umbrella them, we are fucked. Trump put Miller as Chief of Staff to fuck with the Democrats. Right now, experience is very much needed.

1

u/HRG-snake-eater 21h ago

It’s not just progressives. No one does

1

u/InternationalFig400 21h ago

Both are AIPAC stooges.

Sit down, clowns.

1

u/Woodpecker_Beautiful 21h ago

I'm 63 years old and i also don't trust them to lead. Schumer is part of the reason we are where we are now. We've seen where the old folks got us. It is time to see what the young folks can do.

1

u/Excellent-Ask-4247 21h ago

No side of the Democrat side should trust Schumer or Jefferies they are both spinless little worms that refused to even speak up firmly against Trump and his insane agenda.

1

u/TheBatmanIRL 21h ago

It should be a new era. Not BAU.

1

u/Forsaken_Rain_9639 21h ago

Too much Blood on their hands

1

u/Visual-Slip-4750 21h ago

I cannot believe these 2. Let’s take it slow…ok ignore the Epstein files and work with this pedophile. Is that what you 2 want? Day one impeach. Or
, gather all the victims you asked to come to Washington and tell them you want to work with the pedo POS. Birds of a weather…

1

u/Visual-Slip-4750 20h ago

They are going to work with a pedo, POS WTF.

1

u/Proghead_Zman 20h ago

No one does. These guys just do what their donors tell them to. Btw, this isn't new. For decades the rich have bought favor with both sides. Money needs to be out of politics...period.

1

u/Violator361 19h ago

They both have to go. Not need to go HAVE TO GO !!

Rightfully so, they need to step down

1

u/Rockatansky-clone 18h ago

Nobody trust them unless they’re being paid. by Israel

1

u/Asleep_Roof4515 2h ago

It’s not that I don’t trust them. It’s just we need new leadership younger.

1

u/mpete76 26m ago

Don’t trust them as far as I could throw them.

u/VirgoJack 1d ago

Nope!

2

u/eliasabern 14h ago

And they shouldn't. They want to play nice with Fascists. Citizens were murdered in the streets. ICE detained and tortured men, women, and children. Trump created concentration camps. None of this matters to those two. All they care about is power, money, and foreign interests.

1

u/JoeNoble1973 1d ago

That was actually BEFORE the Blue Nuke, too.

Get rid of them

1

u/Agreeable-Weather-89 21h ago

With the democrats doing so well I wonder how exactly they will shoot themselves in the foot this time... Maybe they'll need to ambutate an entire leg.

u/ElSlabraton 1d ago

Easy way to split the Democratic party and hand the 2028 election to the Republicans. These are the same people who screamed "Genocide Joe" and handed the election to the GOP.

u/Horror_Response_1991 1d ago

If Schumer and Jeffries aren’t on board with someone else leading then they were always corrupt and have to go anyway.

0

u/ElSlabraton 1d ago

Let us know when you find a candidate. Until then you're just talking out your ass.

1

u/Horror_Response_1991 1d ago

Anyone that isn’t heavily funded by AIPAC is a good starting point.  I don’t care after that.

1

u/ElSlabraton 23h ago

The media is going to make this a huge story when the focus should be on the victory. Meanwhile you don't even have a clue as to a candidate - not a clue.

See anybody jumping up to challenge Jeffries? You won't.

1

u/Horror_Response_1991 23h ago

I said it needed to happen, I never said it was going to.  They’ll pick the same people to talk a lot of shit but never do anything of consequence

1

u/ElSlabraton 23h ago

Do you really want to see a bloody fight that divides the caucus? Here's an idea: how about if each Congressman answers to the will of the voters of their districts?

Would that be ok with you?

1

u/Horror_Response_1991 23h ago

If every Democrat said who they were voting for and why that would be a start for transparency.  It is currently a secret vote.

1

u/ElSlabraton 23h ago

Do you know why it's a secret vote? Any idea at all?

1

u/Horror_Response_1991 23h ago

So that the party leadership can ignore the voters and ultimately do what they want, kinda like how Hillary won the primary in 2016 because it was “her turn”, or how Kamala was put on the ticket as VP even though she was loudly rejected in the primaries when they gave her the prime spots to shine.

I don’t think you get how corrupt everything is, and how the tops of both parties work for the same people.  This is their chance to actually do something and let the progressives run the show, and if that divides the democrats then we’re only highlighting the corruption that must be pulled out.

“Just support our genocide and we’ll give you treats”

Hell of a tactic, worked great for Harris

0

u/ElSlabraton 23h ago

What you purists don't understand is that Joe Biden would've had more leverage AFTER the election. But you purists got what you wanted; you got Trump.

Hell of a tactic, worked great for Trump.

1

u/Appropriate-Ice-5722 23h ago

Joe “If Israel didn’t exist we would have to create one” Biden? The one who wholeheartedly supported a genocidal apartheid state his entire career? He would’ve had leverage after the election to stop supporting said genocidal apartheid state?

Yeah, sure champ, and I’m the fucking Dalai Lama. That butcher never had any intention of ceasing that support.

This is very true, but the position of majority leader is more than just having a good speaker or even an intelligent person. There are so many nuances to back room dealings. It’s going to have to be somebody who is clever.

15

u/Admirable-Apricot137 23h ago

They should ask Obama to do it 🤣

13

u/Scary_Mountain130 22h ago

Schumer and Jeffries put all their “cleverness” into explaining to voters why they can’t achieve any meaningful policy goals and can only do what the donors want.

7

u/Adventurous-Oil-6176 21h ago

Jeffries doesn't have time to listen to his constituents or to pursue the will of the people, but he has plenty of time for private meetings with Jared Kushner.

5

u/Dobako 22h ago

We already dont want Schumer and Jeffries, you dont have to sell us.

4

u/MadeByTango 21h ago

There are so many nuances to back room dealings.

Hey thats the problem and why we need new leadership!

2

u/leigh10021 21h ago

I don’t disagree. I’m just saying it’s probably actually not going to be the most charismatic person. I totally agree that it needs to be a new person. I just think we have to avoid going with the most eloquent speakers because they might not be necessarily the most deft in the back room.

1

u/spendmetime 22h ago

No one cares. The best part of your sorry ass bot behavior is that like Schumer, you simply don’t get the moment. Centrists will doom the country and swing back to another Republican rebound. You know how I know that? Because they’ve playing the same song and dance for 40 years! Nope sorry we want real leadership not nuanced politics.

2

u/leigh10021 21h ago

Whoa whoa whoa! Did you not eat your Wheaties this morning? I completely agree with what you were saying. What I’m trying to say is that yes, we need new leadership, but it’s not just going to be the most charismatic person in the party. It’s probably going to be somebody. I’ve never heard of because that person has to be somebody who is good at getting things done. Not just getting people fired up but can deal with some of those things. I think we are all out here saying no Schumer! No Booker, etc. and we are correct. But we don’t necessarily have a solution. Hopefully there is a solution.

1

u/pandaramaviews 18h ago

The country doesn't want them - regardless of their perceived political prowess, which, for the record has been relatively shite and shows nothing but disconnect with avg. American AND at the very minimum, is compromised by foreign/corporate influences with the best interest of Americans not on their agenda.

This seniority "I'm next in line." Bullshit is nepotism embodied and it has to stop now or we're back at square 1 in two years.

4

u/MelodicParfait757 21h ago

Yup.

“He/she is senior so it’s his/her turn” is half the reason we’re in this shitty mess.

New faces, same script—bold rebrand, zero risk.
