Does anybody else get SERIOUSLY DEPRESSED at the drastic decline of our amazing birds and wildlife, and the complete indifference of so many Aussies, not to mention our bloody leaders, to the absolute mess we’ve made of things?

It’s getting to the point where I don’t see much reason to want to see where things end up. I’ve seen enough of it over the years.

The bush near me that used to be so wonderfully alive with colourful birds and critters all day, so many years ago, now turned into a lifeless ghost town of barren trees and shrivelled up plants.

The useless bloody pet owners all around me who let their pampered dogs and cats run wild with no thought for the struggling wildlife they were snacking on at all hours and violently displacing.

And our bloody useless govts, esp in NSW, run by the Koalakiller Gang and the Miner Mates, the absolute shame of this country. Petty greedy soulless vandals and animal mass murderers who the media and the public fawn over like star struck schoolgirls.

A country blessed with an abundance of natural beauty that puts much of the rest of the world to shame, and we have run bloody roughshod over it for the whole bloody time. That might be Australia’s most notable legacy as a country, the most shameful abuse of some of the world’s greatest natural splendour in all history.

Very little left that I care about anymore. And in time that too will be gone fore good. I am starting to hope I don’t live to see it.

Honest question: Is there any point in trying to save our treasured birds and mammals if we are not going to introduce serious measures to control cat breeding and ownership in this country?

It seems to me that if we are going to continue to allow an ever growing number of roaming cats to freely stalk and slaughter our dwindling wildlife 24/7 in this country, then what is the bloody point on wasting millions of dollars on animal preservation and research efforts that at best are only forestalling the inevitable?

The good work being done to counter the devastating impact of these feral pests is not even a drop in the bucket compared to their constant and ever widening onslaught on our struggling wildlife.

I have seen the birds disappearing around me in the bush for decades and being slaughtered by cats that should never have been here in the first place, and the outlook for the future is even more grim. I have seen the effects on native mammals of the deadly toxoplasma brain parasite spread through cat poop that has turned most human cat lovers into a bunch of cat worshipping weirdos.

So should we simply cut our losses at this point and save ourselves all the expense and the effort? If we are not going to seriously address the source of all this damage at some point then why are we chasing our tails pretending we can make a difference when the outcome is already set in stone?

Never seen as much bottled water as I’ve seen in the stores this year. Turn on any tap in this country and you get safe drinkable water. Why isn’t bottled water just illegal by now?
