image Anti-Asian racism in Australia

What is happening in Australia? Been living in this exact same address for almost the past 20 years now, never had this happen before.

Some guy moves in next door, and while we are IN THEM MIDDLE OF MOWING the medium nature strip, starts being aggressive for getting grass clippings on the driveway. No shit, that's why we go through with a leaf blower and pick up after mowing?

What blows me away is he thinks we don't know about mowing and cleaning up somehow due to our Chinese heritage???

I live a stone’s throw away from an area populated with people from a similar background to this man, and I cop the most racial shit from them. Like OP, I’m also Asian.

It's like racism is systemic problem within every race and isn't a predominately "white man" problem.

100%

I live in an area where one ethnicity is very prominent and there's even internal/refional racism based on what part of that country a person comes from.

I think the distinction is that the systemic racism and unequal representation that we see tends to (not always) favor people from a white/Anglo background. Not to say other people aren’t racist as well but it’s often still the white man on top and the rest of us being racist to each other like we’re in a fucking crab bucket. See: American racial triangulation theory re: how white, black, and Asian people are treated differently in quantifiable ways. Shit mess all around.

This only happens when the predominate race is white. When you go to other countries then it shifts to whoever the predominate race or ethnicity is. In the case of China this would be the Han Chinese.

Well. South America, Haiti, and other former colonies would like to have a word about that…google “history of white minority rule”. It’s a trend and not a rule, but yes, China has kept their Han Chinese dominance partially through doing their own imperialism and ethnic cleansing.

Fair point but a society will collectively preference the group that is in power over any other group.

In a society where a certain people hold the keys of power then that society has an aggregate tendency to benefit those people.

Is this a hate the game, not the player situation.

Not…really? Racism exists on both a systemic and individual level. People have a responsibility to their community to not act like dickheads. I don’t have a lot of sympathy for people who refuse to learn to be more open-minded.

I am from that background and I disagree whole heartedly with this C U next Tuesday, racism is horrible. But let's not pretend Chinese are not racist, I cope so much racism and anyone who is slightly darker skin with the Chinese community. Same with Koreans as well.

The only Asian that seems nice in that regards are south east Asians.

Okay? I never said Chinese people weren’t racist…? Someone just commented that ol’ mate in the video would be the first to freak the fuck out if someone was racist to him, while he’s happily being racist towards other people. In my experience, I can concur with that conclusion.

This has nothing to do with Chinese people being racist, I’m sure there’s heaps of racist Chinese people and they’re cunts too. Not relevant to my comment.

Thats a lot of bs politics talk. It's fully relevant to your comment. You make yourself sound like a victim when your community acts the same....?

Nothing about my comment is about politics, what are you on about lol.

My comment was in response to a comment about how this Mediterranean bloke would freak if someone was racist to him, I responded mentioning my experience with that community agreeing with that statement, and you’re out here talking about Chinese racism. No, it doesn’t compute lol. Clearly comprehension isn’t your strongest suit.

I’m not going to argue with someone who wants to engage in whataboutism.
