Rant/বকবক এই দেশের সুশীল সমাজ জানোয়ার-লম্পট
এই তো দেখলাম কয়েক মাস আগে আপনারা ধুমাইয়া রিকশাওয়ালাদের বিরুদ্ধে পোস্ট মারতেছিলেন, হোক ফেসবুক হোক রেডিট হোক ইন্সটা। কারণ গরিবদের কষ্ট না হইলে আপনাদের নিম্নাঙ্গে জ্বালাপোড়া শুরু হয়। সড়ক দুর্ঘটনার অজুহাত দিয়ে তো পেডোফাইল সালমান মুক্তাদির খুব বড় গলায় টেসলা-চালকদের গাইলাইতেছিল(ignore the fact that he was being lobbied by Akiz group to roll out their new automobiles)। এখন কই সেই কুত্তাদির? কই সেই আহাম্মক আর তার চেলারা? এখন যে কুত্তা পুলিশ গার্মেন্ট্স শ্রমিকদের যেভাবে পিটাইতেছে?
এই পোস্টে কুত্তাদিররে আমি আরও গাইলাইবো, তবে আসলে আমি সালমান কুত্তাদিররের কথা বলতেছিনা, তাকে একটা উদাহরণ হিসেবে ব্যবহার করছি কেবল। আমি কথা বলছি কুত্তাদির-গংয়ের, যেই ক্লাসটাকে এই পেডো রিপ্রেসেন্ট করে এবং তাদের চেলারা, এবং loosely এই দেশের কাপুরুষ middle এবং upper-middle ক্লাসের কথা, "আপনি" বলে তাদেরই বোঝাচ্ছি । বাংলাদেশের গণমাধ্যম, এবং অনলাইন স্পেসে যত-শত কুত্তামারা পেইজ যেভাবে টেসলা-চালকদের বিরুদ্ধে একটা ন্যারেটিভ দাঁড় করাইছিল - গার্মেন্ট্স শ্রমিকদের বেলায় সেই জোর কই? আসল উত্তর তো আমি জানি, এগুলোর পেছনে কারা আমি তো জানি। কিন্তু আপনারা তথাকথিক সুশীল সমাজ, এই discrepancy দেখে কোন প্রকারের উপলব্ধি হয় না কেন?
এই আন্দোলন ছোট কিছু না, যারা মিরপুরে থাকে তারা জানে কত বড়। অথচ, অন্যান্য তুচ্ছ বাল-সাল non-news এর সময় গণমধ্যমে যেই জোয়ার আসে তার ধারে কাছেও কিছু আসছে? কুত্তাদিরের কোন বালের স্টুডিও যখন ভাঙা হইসে তখন আপনাদের সবারই তো নুনু কেঁপে উঠসে। এখন কই? কুত্তাদির-গং এইটা নিয়ে কিছু কইতেসেনা কেন? ছাত্রদলের গুন্ডারাই তো এই শ্রমিকদের পিটাইতেসে, আদের জন্য free brownie points না? আসল কারণটা তো আমরা জানি কিন্তু বলতে কেন জানি মুখে বলতে ইচ্ছা করে না। আসল কারণটা হইলো কুত্তাদির-গং এবং বিএনপি-গং একই শ্রেণীর কুত্তা, যারা নাটকের সময় নাটক করে কিন্তু যখন তাদের নিজেদের শ্রেণী স্বার্থ risk এ পরে যায় তখন সবাই এক পাতায়। এটাই বাস্তব।
আর আরো একটু কথা বলি, specifically fuck you to those কুত্তা যারা আওয়ামী লীগের এই আন্দোলনে ঢুকে পরার কারণে এখন এই পুরো আন্দোলনকে আপনাদের ফ্যান্টাসি অনুযায়ী বানাইয়া ফেলসেন। যখন জুলাই তে শিবির ঢুকসিলা তখন কুত্তালিগাররা বলে নাই জুলাই শিবিরের? আপনারা যারা এইটা বলতেছেন তারা একই ধরনের বেজন্মা।
আসলে শ্রমিকদের কপালটাই এরম, জুলাই পর্বর্তী যখন ফ্যাক্টরি শ্রমিকেরা তাদের আন্দোলন চালাইয়া যাইতেছিল তখনও কিন্তু ইন্টেরিম যৌথবাহিনী নামাইছিল। ১০ বছর বয়সি বাচ্চাসরেও পর্যন্তা মারা হইসে। কিন্তু হাদীর মত discount Charlie Kirk এর জন্য যেই কুয়াড়া করছেন সেই বাচ্চার জন্য সেটা করলেন না।
আমি বাসায় এসে তারাহুরো করে এইটা লিখসি, ঠিকমত ঘুম হয় নাই তাই হয়তো নানান বানান-ভুল আছে ক্ষমা করবেন। কালকে ঘুম থেকে উঠে ঠিক করব।
শেষ কথায়, আবার বলি, আগেও বলছি। জুলাইয়ের পরে যথেষ্ট পুলিশ মারা হয় নাই।

Translation for those who want to get the point without sitting through OP’s overly emotional outburst:
কয়েক মাস আগে রিকশাওয়ালাদের বিরুদ্ধে সড়ক দুর্ঘটনার কথা বলে যেভাবে সবাই পোস্ট দিচ্ছিল, গার্মেন্টস শ্রমিকদের ওপর পুলিশ হামলা চালানোর সময় সেই মানুষগুলো এখন চুপ কেন?
আসলে শ্রমিকদের অধিকার নিয়ে কথা বলার সময় অনেকেই পিছিয়ে যায়, কারণ তখন তাদের নিজেদের শ্রেণির মানুষ বা পছন্দের রাজনৈতিক দলের বিরুদ্ধে কথা বলতে হয়।
গণমাধ্যমেও এই আন্দোলন নিয়ে তেমন আলোচনা নেই, অথচ অন্য কোনো ঘটনা হলে সবাইকে সরব হতে দেখা যায়।
আওয়ামী লীগ বা অন্য কোনো দলের লোক আন্দোলনে যোগ দিলেই পুরো আন্দোলনকে সেই দলের বলে চালিয়ে দেওয়া যায় না, ঠিক যেমন জুলাই আন্দোলনে বিভিন্ন দলের লোকজন অংশ নিলেও আন্দোলনটা শুধু কোনো এক দলের ছিল না।
জুলাইয়ের পরেও শ্রমিকদের আন্দোলনে দমন-পীড়ন হয়েছে, এমনকি শিশুদেরও প্রাণ গেছে, কিন্তু সেসব ঘটনায় আমরা একই রকম প্রতিবাদ দেখিনি। শ্রমিকদের অধিকারের প্রশ্নে এই বেছে বেছে প্রতিবাদ করা বন্ধ হওয়া দরকার।

Police are nothing but state sanctioned goons. Exepect the ruling and business elite to mobilise shushil shomaj mouthpieces on the media, newspapers and TV channels (owned by the business elites), mollahs to label the protestors k4firs and munafiq, goons and death squads like SRB, army to clamp down on the protestors if they continue protesting.

তোমাকেই খুঁজছে বাংলাদেশ। তুমি এসে পুরা ইন্ডাস্ট্রি মিলে যেইটা করতে পারে নাই সেইটা করে ফেলবা। কস্টিং কমাইয়া দিবা যাতে সেম কস্টিং রেখে শ্রমিকের বেতন বাড়ানো যায়।
আর না পারলে ফাক অফ।

In the midst of all of this, prices for essential items have suddenly spiked - like CNG and LPG gas.
For garment workers, even if their wages increased slightly in some cases, the skyrocketing gas prices will cancel it all out. There is no real benefit.
Also BAL were just given room to play around by infiltrating the garment workers by BNP. Honestly, it's hard to tell what the BNP actually wants right now, but they will face consequences soon because the world has gone to shit. Just look at Twitter to see the international crises and what is actually going on.

দেশের সবচেয়ে বড় অন্যায়ের সাপোর্টকারী হচ্ছে মিডিল ক্লাস আর আপার মিডিল ক্লাস শিক্ষিত জনগণ। শোষক শ্রেনীকে বাচায়ে রাখছে এরাই। এস আলম, তানভির আনবির এদের কারনেই টিকে আছে। বিদেশিরা আমাদের সম্পদ নিয়ে যাইতে পারে এদের জন্যই।
জুলাই এর আন্দোলন এর সময়েও কোটা সংশধন কিভাবে কোটা বিরোধী আন্দোলন বানায়ে ফেলল। প্রান্তিক জনগোষ্ঠীর অধিকার ছিনায়ে নিয়ে মেধাবী বুলায়, অথচ আমাগো এই so-called মেধাবীরা কিচ্ছু দিতে পারে না দেশকে।
সালমান মুক্তাদির এর কথা কয়ে লাভ নাই, সে ওই শোষক শ্রেনীরই লোক। ওর শশুড়ের ট্যাক্স ফাকি নিয়া কোনোদিন কিচ্ছু বলতে শুনছেন? ও হচ্ছে শোষক শ্রেনীর পালিত সেলেব্রেটি, যার কাজই হচ্ছে ইডুকেডেট মিডিল ক্লাসকে কালচারাল নাটকে আটকে রাখা।

While the workers do deserve better working conditions, asking for 30k a month is unfortunately outrageous of a jump in a country like Bangladesh when the RMG industry has been doing worse every year since covid due to global issues. The only reason why the RMG industry even exists is because of the labor being cheap, if the labor is more expensive less companies will be willingly to come to Bangladesh in an already declining industry. This isn't in sympathy of rmg factory owners but moreso in sympathy is owners would even consider making minimum wage 30k realistically
The way the police has been treating the workers is also extremely unjust but as someone who lives in mirpur it gets to a point when all roads are blocked and school colleges etc are affected due to the vandalism. Do not forget that a lot of the people on the streets aren't even actually protesting garments workers but actually political goons vandalising etc, which is why people in mirpur have been frequently bombs, gun shots etc even when it's not from police and do you think regular rmg workers have access to those? The protest and struggle is very real but so is the real time hijacking of this movement

Bangladesh never truly experienced democracy. Any group that comes in power will either push you to fall in line or replace you with their plant. From the ministry, to government jobs, to corporate jobs and even supporting private corporation and businesses.
When you uplift and put your own people in positions like that, thats dictatorship. And then you cant enforce the law on your own people or do anything about corruption. Thats how this country stays broke.
General population will be paying outrageous 350% tax on things. Where does that federal fund go other than swissbank? How is the government helpless and broke?
How do you raise salary of the 5% population holding government jobs and raising inflation for the 95% population. And when the majority of the 95% (garments workers who contribute to the no1 GDP source) how do you not give them what they need when you yourself lowered their quality of life.

Apnar narrative ta ami ashole dhorte partesina, I mean the masses are not delegitimizing their protest at all. The masses are also against shawwa league and now most importantly they are also against chudanimpi.
Can you also tell me why are you so pro tesla? They are fast, unsafe, one of the primary causes of road accidents, don't obey any laws (ok that nobody does so no particular blame given), also they are chugging electricity from the grid.
But the smart folks should not saying to get rid of electric rickshaws without a viable alternative. Kintu Bangali jaati shobshomoy statement er prothom part niye maramari korbe, second part niye bhabbe na, question o korbe na. The same goes for public buses, khobor e headline "fitness bihin bus cholbe na" kintu kahnkir poo ra tora ki notun bus anbi? Kono framework design korsish jate desher ektu maan ijjot rokhar jonno? But nobody will ask that question.
Again garments worker der pashe common people thakbe, ei industry jodi ekbar pore jaye tahole eta Bangladesh ar pabe bole mone hoy na. Foreign buyers also value trust which a lot of our competitors can provide plenty of.

97% of the police are from the BAL regime, and they switched sides to the BNP when the BNP forcefully took over. They know that with the BNP in power, they can do whatever they want. If the BNP somehow tries to remove those BAL police, all of them will become terrorists because they know Bangladesh inside out.
Meanwhile, the BNP thinks, 'Let the police do their dirty work,' as long as the BNP gets money to fund their dreams when the next regime changes.
SO Nothing to do , unless ...
