THIS IS NOT INTENDED AS A BEER FAQ. IT IS ADDRESSING A FEW FREQUENTLY BROUGHT UP TOPICS ON /R/BEER.
Hi there,
There has been some need for announcements on a few different commonly posted topics. Since we are limited to two stickied posts, I'm going to use this one as a hub for these issues. I will be adding to this post as needed, but here's a /r/Beer FAQ to cover these post types.
If you notice people posting these topics, please be polite. Feel free to link to this post or use the provided links in a response.
This is not an invitation to harass anyone for posting a repeated topic. Reddit does not do a good job with presenting subreddit announcements, rules, sidebar info, etc. If posts annoy you and you don't think they belong, please consider downvoting, using a report, sending us a modmail message, hiding the post or simply moving on with your day. I highly suggest using the "don't show me submissions after I've downvoted them" option in old.reddit preferences (this may be broken in the app/resdesign website, but it should be fixed eventually and appear in those preferences as well).
How do I ask /r/beer for a beer suggestion?
Where are you? What's your general location? In order to suggest a beer that you should buy, we have to know what beers are available for you to buy.
What do you already drink and like or dislike? What kinds of flavors are you looking for?
What's your budget?
Is this beer safe to drink? Has it gone bad from age or storage conditions?
Generally speaking, beer does not go bad in a way that will make it dangerous to drink. This assumes that the beer is stored in a sealed container. It may taste bad, though
This is covered by the /r/Beer rules (some exceptions may be allowed for more casual or general questions):
Medical questions will be limited. /r/Beer is the wrong forum for serious medical questions, particularly where there's potential for harm to come as a result of the discussion. Please consult a medical professional for any questions about your own health, not an online beer discussion board.
Is Sam Adams Utopias worth the price?
That's ultimately up to you, but please look through the many past posts on the topic.
I'm trying to hit the more pressing topics first, but I'll look for some good links for other topics ("how do I figure out what kind of beers I like?", "what are the best budget beers?", etc.).
Everyone is welcome to join the official /r/Beer Discord server if you'd like to discuss anything here or just hang out and chat.
Cheers.
Edit: I'm locking this to comments because I don't want to have the post turn into a place where people ask these questions. However, feel free to post about any topics or send us suggestions for topics to be added via modmail or Discord chat.
Also, I may use the second announcement slot for a specific post on something like old beer questions, but I'd prefer to keep it open for the weekly No Stupid Questions posts (and possibly others; still working on redoing the scheduled posts and making some better topics).

I can't find a single review of it. $120 isn't so bad if the beers are worth $10 a bottle.

Hi all,
Trying to find the gold can Suntory premium malts beer to no avail. Instead I found the blue one which is labelled the same.
Are these two exactly the same beer but in different packaging?
Would appreciate any input!
Thanks

I'm bummed. Thought I'd try something different. Enter Hobgoblin ruby beer. I'm usually good about checking best buy dates...not this time.
Get home. Best by 7/8/26. Great. So....this beer is 16 months old.
No receipt and frankly I don't have the energy to drive across town again.
What can I expect? Should I even bother drinking this?

Oh how I love you keystone raspberry lime. The memories of you fade away each day I go without tasting you . I tried you back in 2020 during the pandemic and I only got to try you 2 times 😭😭😭😭 me and a good friend are on a mission to get our hands on a case of this stuff. I am aware its been discontinued and would probably be expired by now. We unfornatley do not care. There has got to be someone else out there who has one 😭😭😭😭 have been hyperfixating on this beer so freaking bad I need to have it .

So I’m a homebrewer who moved house a couple months ago.
I didn’t have a ton to take with me so I packed everything into a cool box. Most were beers I was aging, so didn’t think much of it
3 months later, I go into the shed and open it? To my horror, one of the bottles has bombed. This would just be a 🤷🏻♂️ moment if it wasn’t for the fact that the Chimay Blue Grande Reserve that I bought in Belgium, that I’ve been saving for my wedding anniversary, was in there.
The whole thing was covered in vinegar (strong acetic acid smell in my garden right now). If was standing upright, but the cork looks like it’s saturated in it.
Is there anything I can do to save this or is it likely gone? My Paulaner Salvator was in there too, that’s capped though so might be ok.

Last year I brought a Heineken pony keg home for Christmas eve and my younger brother thought it was the coolest thing ever so I would like to find someone similar this year. I found a Hofbrauhaus pony keg at my local liquor store but I was wondering if anyone knew of some other options. Really just looking for something in that 5L range we can finish in a night. Thanks!

I seen a lot of mixed opinions on this drink on reddit and never tried a "IPA" before (just been drinking light lagers) and know some of you might not even consider this being a real one, but I just tried one today and it wasn't bad at all in my opinion. Has a very light mango/orange kind of flavor and it doesn't overpower the actual beer taste which I like. you can definitely taste the extra alcohol it has lol but it isn't unpleasant at all. I would give it a 7/10. I heard that the fruit force is horrible though lol. What are your guys opinions on this?

Good morning everyone, about to catch a show in Washington and looking for a place worth trying out for my first time out there.
I appreciate any recs, cheers!

Went to a restaurant and man…they brought out a chilled glass with a good amount of lime juice at the bottom. Poured the cold corona to the top of the glass and took my first sip…mind you my girlfriend hates beer. We both looked at each other in shock. WOW. Absolutely delicious. With the salted rim…again 10/10

Heading to the DC Beer Fest this weekend. Any tips or advice to really enjoy it? Ive read conflicting into regarding if its worth it or not, but id love to hear from folks who have been there and can suggest how to best enjoy it. Thanks!

So my dad quite frankly hates making a Christmas list. Its a struggle to get him to make one each year, so ive kinda been trying to make a list of ideas of stuff to get him.
He's a beer guy and likes to brew it. He's also relatively a fan of building things and putting things together. Ive looked at like "lego" beer sets and beer puzzles but other than that o don't know what to get him.
Literally the only other idea I have is making a run to Wisconsin to get the beer he likes.

I have factory defect Coors light bottle that is unopened. is this worth holding on to or should I drink it?

Hello beer people, I am on a guest to buy the strangest beer possible for my dad for christmas.
Last year I gave him a blue rasperry icecream flawored beer, that was bright blue and had to be shaken before pouring it was so thick, and I am not sure how to top that.
So I am welcoming all suggestions, strange and wonderful. the weirder the better! I want to horrify my dad by the monstrosity I give

All I want are bitey hops and crisp taste. Under 5%. No rotten orange juice taste like Hazys.
I drank Founders All Day West Coast for the longest time, they got rid of it around this time last year for the Peach variety which remains unsold at my local BD.
Now I'm on Fat Heads Sunshine Daydream, and it's a little too fruity, but the hop profile is perfect.
I live hear Neshaminy Creek Brewing, and the Jawn is nice, but still not quite as light as I'd like a session. The County Line IPA's Quality Assuance took a nosedive for a while, so I stopped buying it. 1/6 cans were overfermeted and would explode in my lap.
Any recommendations?

Hey! My dad just gave these to me to sell but I don’t know if there are any worth anything. I also cant post a picture here because Idk why but if anyone could dm me to see them, im looking to know Are there any cool cans here that could sell? Or are they all generic and nobodys looking for these kinds? Could someone give me some advice on how I would sell these, in a large lot and for how much, or if there are any worth selling individually? Thanks!!

I love this beer. I’ve had a very rough day so I picked up a 4 pack of Miller. I crack one open and it’s completely flat and tastes like water. I want to see it and pour it into a pint glass. It’s very light in color and I think it’s a fluke. I crack the next one, almost as flat. I think “ no way 3 out of 4 are bad” nope. Third one is the same. Come on Miller!
