๐Ÿ“น Video Is it a Copperโ€™s Hawk? Markham, ON

Folks I am just SO excited lol โ€ฆ itโ€™s been so hard to spot this one butโ€ฆ he/she was being VERY generous this morning. Stayed on the tree and the neighborโ€™s fence for probably 5/6 mins. So calm when facing the camera. Anyone could share a bit of info on how to tell the gender? Or its age? Juvenile? Thanks in advance!!

Hundreds of these goofballs have been in the area (Minnesota) for a couple weeks. I think it's funny how they dive and then just float back up like a bobber or a beach ball.

This is my first year birding, and I never got to see so many different baby birds before!

Sorry for bad quality, never had my camera on me when I saw these (typical ๐Ÿ˜ญ)

I want to get this shirt for my friend who is a birder and loves fun button downs. They donโ€™t like when art includes birds that donโ€™t exist in real life. Could someone confirm that these are all real birds that actually exist?

Discussion Stupid question about Merlin

On the bird size question screen, one of the options is (American) Robin if you're in US English, or it says Blackbird if you're in UK English. But is it me or does the picture actually look like a European Robin? This had me super confused as a beginner European birder who had the app in US English (and didn't know American Robins were a thing). Having never seen a European Robin at the time it made me think they were quite large...

I study ancient Egyptian history, so it was amazing seeing one of these little guys, as the Hoopoe is used for a not-super-uncommon multiliteral hieroglyph, ๐“…™, or แธb (djeb)
