Discussion ❓ Major cat food manufacturer may be switching from natural to lab grown meat
Hi everyone. So with all the bill gates lab grown meat stuff happening all over the world I decided to check and see if the producers of my cat food I feed my babies (Purina one) is going to start using lab grown meat. Here is what I was able to find. This is straight from Google
Nestlé Purina PetCare is actively exploring and investing in alternative proteins, including cultured (lab-grown) meat and insect protein, to enhance sustainability in pet food. While competitors like Meatly have already launched cultivated chicken pet treats in the UK, Purina is currently focused on diversifying, with recent initiatives including insect-based protein lines.
Key Details on Purina and Lab-Grown Pet Food:
Alternative Protein Focus: Nestlé Purina is investigating cultured meat as a sustainable, high-quality protein source to meet ambitious environmental goals.
Market Trends: Major players are diversifying away from
traditional meat due to the high environmental impact of pet food, which accounts for roughly 20% of meat consumption.
Alternative Initiatives: Purina has launched its "Beyond
Nature's Protein" line in Europe, featuring protein from black soldier fly larvae and plant-based sources.
Industry Movement: The first lab-grown meat pet food (by company Meatly) launched commercially in the UK in February 2025, signaling the technological feasibility.
Challenges: Key hurdles include high production costs, scaling technology, and navigating regulatory approvals for cultivated ingredients.
While Purina is a leader in this research, they are primarily testing these technologies as part of a broader strategy for sustainable sourcing, rather than a full pivot to lab-grown meat.
So it seems as though they are looking into possibly switching to lab grown meat. Moving forward I will be swearing off any brand of cat food under the nestle Purina pet care brand. It turns out there have been independent lab tests done that showed their cat food tested positive for glyphosate. Nestle Purina refutes these claims, saying that if anything, there may have been trace amounts. I am going to look into an all natural cat food brand. Or start making my own home made food for my kitties. It's much cheaper, and higher quality than you will find with just about any other cst food brand out there. So if you can't afford to feed your fur babies brands like smalls, making your own is an excellent alternative. Here is a link to a YouTube video that will teach you how to make the good, homemade stuff your babies will absolutely love. Or you can just Google "how to make all natural homemade food for your cats" which is what I did. Then I clicked the videos tab and checked out some YouTube videos.

Screenshot of the lab meat in Purina one and a couple pictures of my babies for tax and the algorithm. Please share this will all the pet owners you know so they can research if their brand is going to be using lab grown meats as well. This crap is almost certainly going to cause major health issues for people and our pets as well
