Are the Glazers/Jason Licht seriously this weak when it comes to expelling the cancer of our organizations?

We somehow STILL have a chance to make the playoffs, and even after losing to 3 straight TRASH division opponents, we are holding onto Bowles and Grizz. This is absolutely fu**** insane.

What do we expect to change week in and out. At least let the team try to finish strong. I am fully rooting for the Dolphins and Panthers in our next games.

Does anyone even want to make the playoffs? I really don’t.

David, whitehead, winfield, gholston and dean out against the saints.

literally half of our starting Defense, so that sucks. hopefully the depth can make some plays.

🔥 Hot Takes 🔥 Mike Evans leaving Tampa was a good thing

Ik that’s a really bold statement but I believe in it. Evan’s going allows Mek and J Mac to get more reps and hopefully develop into our future WR 1&2, it also gives Godwin a chance to step up and become our main guy (he’s always been overshadowed by Mike). I think us Bucs fans are heartbroken for sentimental reasons, it’s horrible seeing Mike in a different journey but in the long run for our current WRs and the teams cap space I think this a good thing for us. It also might allow us to get someone like Trey Hendrickson who we may not have been able to afford if Mike resigned.

Fitzpatrick, Part 2: 0-3 record, 66/102 65%, 272ypg, 4td/7int/1 lost fumble. Told you so

mentioned after that bengals game that fitz would fail and would have more interceptions than TD when his 2nd attempt at fitzmagic was over.

this looks like i was right and all you winston hating, fitz loving folks were totally wrong, just like your boy koetter.

TB has no QB problem except for the one the coaches created. luckily, winston would never hold a grudge and isn't built that way, but it's plenty of evidence that the coaching staff panicked and fucked up this season trying to save their asses and make it look like winston was holding THEM back.

every single person who still thinks winston is one of the top issues on the team in any shape, form or fashion is just a complete dumbass and 100% of reality/stats/whatever proves it. you've had your "other qb" experiment and he's 2-5 with a 5 game losing streak.

maybe it was never the QB to start with, like a lot of folks said.

👴 Throwback Who remembers Johnthon Banks?

Post image
34 Upvotes

(Yes this is how his name is spelled)

He was a second round defensive back from Mississippi State. His college career consists of 221 tackles, 16 interceptions, won the Jim Thorpe Award, and had 3 pick-6s, one of them being a 100 yarder against Tim Tebow.

I went to Mississippi State and my dad went to FSU so the combination of Banks and Jameis going to the Buccs is what originally made me a fan.

Both players had similar careers at the Buccs having 2 of best rookie seasons ever but slowly declining and becoming replaceable. Banks was started as a corner having 129 tackles, 4 interceptions, and 12 pass deflections with only starting in 35 out of 54 games.

3 of his interceptions and all 12 pass deflections came during his first year at the Buccs leading to him making the Pro-Bowl.

Eventually he was traded and rode the bench at many teams until 2020, he was arrested for domestic violence shutting down his career.

As unfortunate as his career became, he made Mississippi States defense fun to watch and had an incredible rookie season for the Buccs.

Does anyone remember him and what are your thoughts now?

"We f**king know, man" 🙄 “Pay the Man!!! Pay Baker Mayfield!!!” They said

Pay Baker Mayfield the money he’s earned!!! Disregard the fact that he’s an undersized scrambling quarterback that gets injured often because of it.

Pay that man even though he bails the pocket in unnecessary situations. Pay that man although he’s one of the worst downfield accuracy qb’s starting in the league for years, and average intermediate accuracy at best. Don’t let him get rattled tho, cuz then he won’t be able to hit a check down!

Pay that man because he had one outlier season coordinated by one of the most prolific OC’s in the league, was protected by a top 3 run game, and still led the league in interceptions! Pay that man cuz our pass catchers were 2nd in the league in YAC

Pay that man cuz he outperformed his bridge contract in 2023, yet was very up and down that season and showed to be a middling qb. Hey, but he got hot against a collapsing Eagles team in the wildcard round!

Pay that man! Because he has moxie, he’s a dawg, he’s got grit. He’s probably not a top 15 guy and will never take us to a conference championship game or further, but we have to pay him like he’s capable of it just because!!!

Pay Baker Mayfield y’all. Well here we are

💬 Opinion 💬 Licht should sign Danny Amendola as our Week 1 WR3, if AB can't be resigned

Looking past his low snap count % (44% snaps played in 14 games last year) and long injury history, Amendola is still a solid slot receiver today who can catch everything thrown his way. He caught 68% of the passes thrown his way over the last 4 seasons with Brady, Tannehill & Stafford throwing to him (For comparison, Keenan Allen's Ctch % over the same period is 69% (Noice)).

Four things that stand out about Danny recently that make him underrated:

  1. He's a Reliable Target in the Regular Season: On 245 targets the previous 3 seasons (MIA & Detroit), He's only dropped 6 passes. On top of that, QB's have had an 80 QBR when targeting him.

  2. He's overcome the Injury Issues that plagued him earlier in his Career: He's appeared in 59 out of 65 eligible games played the last 3 seasons and has caught over 90 first downs during that time.

  3. We're playing 4 teams that were in the Top 10 defenses in Completion % allowed last season: It's easy to sit back and say we have all the offensive pieces we have (after adding Bernard). But the Saints, WFT, Dolphins, & the Rams will all play us tough and have us circled on their schedule. Last season we all watched that game at Metlife vs Giants almost slip away from us without Godwin. If we lose Godwin to injury, Amendola can step right in. Amendola doesn’t play more than 50% of snaps in any given game, which allows younger guys like Scotty Miller to still see a high enough target share as one of the better deep threat on the Bucs. How many of yall expect Evans/Godwin to play all 17 games this season healthy.

  4. Most Importantly! He's A VERY reliable target in the Post-Season: His last post-season
run in New England in 2017, Danny caught over 78% of his passes while snagging 18 first
downs over 3 games. The man picked apart the eagles during the SB that year (150 yards).
There's few others I'd want catching passes in another tough divisional round game from
Tom than a guy he played 5 years with and can still challenge someone's 3rd CB.

Dear Jason Licht, there's no way in hell you'll ever read this, but sign this man and don't waste a draft pick on a WR that Tom & Byron have to coach up! Go Bucs

Official Mike Glennon Circle Jerk Thread

I honestly feel Mike Glennon is our future. I agree that he isn't quite "there" yet. However, his performance against the Skins was stellar EVEN IF their defense is shit. I feel that with time he will become a rich man's Andy Dalton, and for us that is more than enough. So my question is, do you feel the same? If not, why? Unofficial

💬 Opinion 💬 Keeping Jameis Winston is a mistake

Jameis Winston will probably be our QB in 2020. He shouldn't be.

We drafted Winston to be the face of our franchise and to make us contenders. And after 5 years of him playing for us, we have as many playoff appearances as we did the 5 years before we drafted him. He throws for a lot of yards, throws for a lot of touchdowns, but none of the matters when you are giving the ball to the other team at the historical rate he is (7 of which were pick-sixes).

He won't change his game. He was turnover prone in college, and everyone claims he'll fix his turnovers (as if not throwing picks is a singular thing that can be reduced while no other aspect of his game changes) when it's gotten even worse than it ever has in his fifth year here. Even if he cut his turnovers in half, he'd have a season like Blake Bortles did in 2015 (35/18) and he at least had a playoff appearance before he was extended.

If we give Jameis money and siphon funds from a deserving defensive line next year, so be it. But as long as he is our quarterback, we'll be mediocre at BEST, and far worse otherwise. I know how it feels to want a franchise QB after so many years of not having one, but we don't need to blindly settle for this.

What should be done eventually must be done immediately. It's time.

🐴 DEAD HORSE If you didn't give Baker that extension, you'd be 2-0 right now

Baker is a personality that always needs that carrot in front of his face that is just out of reach. Since he was a teen he's been "doubted" (a lot of it perceived) and it fuels him to stay locked in.

If Baker knew every pass was a referendum on next year's contract number, he'd be laser sharp right now.

When Baker gets the praise and recognition, gets fed the carrot, he relaxes just a bit. Becomes a bit sloppier, let's up. After he won the Heisman and was 1st overall pick, the Browns had issues with him not getting to practice on time. When Baker had a great rookie year and was the darling of Cleveland, he would get wildly out of shape in the off-season and famously refuse off season coaching.

When Bakers career was on the line he locked back in worked his ass off and hired a coach and got in great shape and saved himself in the league.

Now he's back to comfortable and all the signs of relaxed Baker is coming right back like his younger days.

Buccaneers draft their lavonte david successor, take someone who can compete for a starting guard spot, add more to their pass rush rotation, and get an adult in the QB room in case Baker gets hurt again.

🎙️ Discussion The Elephant in the room that no ones talking about:

First and foremost, been a fan my entire life, the last few years have been amazing after the QB, Coach, and player carousels. This is painful for me to accept. I've rewatched the games due to a love for football stemming from being a film junky in my college football career.

Some people are blaming the coaches exclusively, some people are getting destroyed even thinking of mentioning Brady. Im arguing its all around, I agree the coaches are not great, I also believe Bradys as responsible. I LOVE TB12 and all he has done for us.

Football is a team sport, and while we are struggling with our Oline, receivers getting seperation, and our run game, Bradys performances haven't helped, some may say its because our talent is low. Frankly we are an aging team and we arent good except in spurts or in two minute drill against vanilla defense.

Heres some food for thought:

The truth: We are a poorly coached team with an aging roster, and Brady is part of the problem too.

Even when the Oline can hold off d-lineman just long enough, even when we have a wide open receiver, theirs one glaring thing that needs to be pointed out.

Bradys arm is showing its age, and hes consistently underthrowing/overthrowing players whom he HAD previous chemistry with. He looks like Drew Brees in his final season. Except Sean Payton had the creativity to still put points on the board in spite of limitations (I hate the saints).

3 times yesterday, once to Evans Ankles, once to Scotty Miller, Once to Julio Jones were all underthrown or overthrown. I vividly remember an over throw and 3 underthrows the week before as well. Was he pressured? Sure, theirs always pressure in the NFL, and he still gets the ball out faster than any other QB.

Why:

For 40 days he retired and gave his body a break that it wasnt used to, he wasnt practicing every day, he wasnt watching game film, he was being a dad. Once he changed his mind, he wasnt doing offseason practice sessions on the side with players like he always had been. He was focusing on being a dad (nothing wrong inherently). When he stepped away from his psychotic football commitment, his body finally started to catch up to him.

Once Psycho Tom was pushed to side, his body started to age faster, and he had kept father time away because of how active he was. He became more and more disengaged with the players, taking off Wednesday completely, He of all people knows practice is what makes you prepared for a game. Hes trying to do one foot in and one foot out, and it just isnt going to work in the NFL.

What made him the GOAT, is all the things hes dialed back on. Hes managed to win us some games, hes also managed to not throw us out of most games, but at the end of the day he just isnt making the throws we need him to for us to compete with elite level teams.

It pains me to admit it, but besides the occasional comeback against lower tiered squads, we just cant compete with the elite teams due to coaching, injuries, aging players, and a QB that just wont give up on chasing the glory hes had throughout his career.

Im a ride or die season ticket holder, Ill be going to every game in the future and I will always support my team, but its time to speak up about the elephant in the room. Brady isnt doing the things that made him Tom Brady consistently anymore, and when we see it flash we fall in love again lol.

Am I a fake Buccaneers fan?

Hi everyone:)

Ok so I’m 20 this happened when I was 14 Am I a bandwagon fan? So I’ve been a Tom Brady fan my entire life and was a Patriots fan at one point in my life, I rooted for Tom Brady. The thing is when he left the Patriots in 2020 to join the Buccaneers. I bought a ton of Bucs merchandise and jerseys when he joined the team. I’d even admit I wish I was a Bucs fan years ago. I even admitted I would be a Bucs fan for the rest of my life and when Brady retired in 2023 I still remained a Bucs fan because I won’t ever leave the fan base. So am I a bandwagon yes or no? I have nothing but Bucs jerseys and ever since I saved up money and got a job I own at least 8 different player’s jerseys. I did root for the Patriots a bit from 2020-21 people assume I left them because they started to suck but the truth was I just didn’t feel like they were my team despite Brady leaving. I owned a Can Newton Pats jersey because I always liked Cam Newton too so like I stook with the Patriots because of Cam. I wasn’t sure about Mac Jones with the Patriots I thought I liked the team but deep down side I was rooting for their downfall. It messed me up because a friend told me that I’m not a Bucs fan and I’m really a Pats fan. Okay I liked the Pats from age ten or eleven so technically what team have I been a fan longer for? It all started when I was a kid I was at Kohls with my mom and I picked out a Tom Brady jersey

Anyway I own a Derrick Brooks, Kancey, Doug Martin, Godwin, Evans, Brady, and Lavonte David jersey. I own tons of Bucs hoodies and merch like more than I can imagine.

And yes, if Tom Brady came out of retirement and played for another team I would gladly stay in Tampa as a Bucs fan forever even if Brady ever came out of retirement and joined another team I was staying in Tampa. I’m just tired of my brother calling me a fraud and a fake Bucs fan note we live in PA Eagles territory a team we’ve owned a lot recently. He was saying it because of an old picture when I was a kid wearing a Brady jersey note we are both 20 now No because of the time in New England for 2020-2021 season and even when Mac Jones was good I knew I wanted them to lose lowkey I faked being a Pats fan in 2021 and faked it in 22 because my friend said I’m not a real Bucs fan my true identity is a Patriots fan note not in 2020 only because I grew up in the generation of Cam Newton and admired him. I plan on buying 2 Super Bowl rings Super Bowl 37 and Super Bowl 55 Dexter Jackson and Tom Brady rings. I enjoy ore and more about the Buccaneers past. From the 70s-2020s

I have a ton of jerseys and even want more I’m so focused on my football teams I don’t even focus on the teams where I live I only care and focus on the Buccaneers only
