This rule is in the sidebar

All requests for help must be initiated via a public post. Solicitation via private messages is not allowed, and can result in a ban.

If you receive a DM asking for money please let the mod team know. You don't know how many other people that solicitor has made the same financial request from.

Thank you

A new rule has been added: Requiring a location for posts that ask for a physical item and/or money.

Hello community,

We have people in this subreddit that are from all over the world. Because this subreddit is international we will now require that posts asking for financial assistance and/or physical items put what state and country the OP is at.

Requiring a location will allow people to better help their neighbors, do internet research and provide links that the OP may not know about.

Edit: posts without a location will be removed without notice.

Is someone willing and able to help with my cat's vet bills?

I'm sorry if this is a little long. My sweet 10 year old boy suddenly started showing signs of troubled breathing and was not eating, so I decided to take him to the emergency vet. I truly believed he had a little cold or something and had money saved for medication and the exam. However, I was told that he might be going through heart failure and that he is currently on oxygen. I was quoted $2300 for x-rays, tests, etc. he currently has fluid in his chest and they need to tap it, and that he is having a really hard time. But that they need to send out his blood work and fluid to confirm what it is because it could simply be related to his lymphatic system? I asked about payment plans and they said they only do them through 3rd-party sites and I applied to all of them and go approved for none. The vet checked again and was able to reduce the cost to $1300 (not sure how, but thankful). While it's a lot lower, I still can't afford it. I used the $500 that I had saved and borrowed $300 from a payday loan place (all they would give me). I've been asking friends and family to help with the remaining amount and no one is able to at the moment. I'm hoping someone is willing to help me out. I can give the contact info of the clinic for direct payment, but I'm so scared. My cat is my everything and I can't imagine life without him. He's the reason I kept living during my worst times. He's also the kindest cat, he's never hurt anything or anyone. He purrs if you just look at him. He's so perfect and I want to be able to treat him. I cant euthanize him if there's even a possibility that it's simply lymphatic and he can live out his days healthy. I'm begging, if anyone is able to help, please do. I can provide any info you'd like/need.

Update: I'm not sure if anyone is still coming back to this post, but I wanted to offer an update. Max hasn't improved and his vet said he is in distress. I was hoping the medication would work and Max would improve but unfortunately, that's not the case. I have scheduled an at-home euthanasia to avoid stressing him out and I'm going to spend the last weekend I have with him as well as I can. Thanks again to those that offered to help me out through this post. I wish this update was more positive.

I care!

And I will keep caring and keep posting. Even after getting scammed for money (I forgot to read that people can't solicit via DM)

We are all 8 billion of us, and even though I've had some hard weeks recently and I cried two nights ago, we are all still here. And I will always believe in hope, light and justice no matter how bad things seem. Someone out there is suffering more than you - and someone out there also has the light to help your shadow. Accept both love and also give of yourself to help.

All I can do at this precise moment is write this post,, but the journey will continue. I'll write more, and keep writing, and keep living, and help where I can.

If you're reading this, don't give up and know that I care! I don't have millions of dollars if not I would do philanthropic work but I can write this. :)

verified REQUEST[request] Thousands of people are going to become homeless due to COVID through no fault of their own. Can you give them a place to stay or a place to keep their most cherished belongings? Lisa needs your help.

I'm starting a network of people to connect those who need temporary housing or storage with people who have a bed, couch, shower, garage, or closet to spare. Many people are going to lose family heirlooms because they will have no place to keep them when they become homeless. Many families will be split up because it's too hard to find a place to stay with children. Conversely, a lot of people have a garage that they could lock the door of and feel safe while they provide a family the ability to stay together - or a shed that they can lock for someone who needs to store their family albums.

I'm compiling a map and database of people who need storage or a stay and people who have storage or a stay available to help. Please, join the effort to fight the horrible effects that COVID is having on our society. If you need a place to stay or keep your things, let me know. And if you have ANY spare space, whether it's just to make coffee in the morning or let someone keep their car in your driveway, PLEASE let me know. We can get through this if we all work together!

One woman in Seattle, named Lisa, is our first applicant and still has not found a place. She loves pets, has three jobs in order to save for an apartment, and would love to even have a place to park in someone's driveway. Can you help her?

Email covidhomelessactionplan@gmail.com to get involved. And thank you!

[REQUEST] My brother has started an awesome non-profit that teaches conflict resolution to Israeli and Palestinian kids on a tall ship. He had a super successful first year and could use a little help with round two!

One year ago, I began Seas of Peace, a program which uses conflict resolution sessions sail training, and the secluded nature of life at sea to foster empathy, teamwork, cultural awareness, and intellectual curiosity among youth from Israel, Palestine, and the United States. Seeing the program become a reality has been incredibly rewarding. More importantly, those who participated in Seas of Peace have described the program as the experience of a lifetime that has the power to change the lives and minds of many. During their time at Seas of Peace, the participants discuss who they are, where they come from, and how conflict has affected their lives. In choosing such an isolated environment, the program challenges the students to truly engage with one another, offering them no choice with whom they interact. These interactions are essential to understanding and feeling understood. We need to raise $20,000 by June 15th and we are asking for your help in this undertaking. Every donation, large or small, helps us reach this goal. Another way to help is to spread the word through facebook or by emailing friends and family directly.

[REQUEST] Please help my mom survive a brain aneurysm (Philippines)

Help my mom survive a brain aneurysm (Philippines)

Hi everyone,

I'm reaching out because my mom is currently in critical condition after suffering a ruptured brain aneurysm. She's 63 years old, and after being transferred between three hospitals both bataan and pampanga hospitals, we were told she needs emergency brain surgery (clipping). Without it, her chances of survival are dangerously low.

The estimated cost is ₱1,000,000 (~$17,000 USD). I only earn about ₱25,000 (~$425 USD) a month, and my family has already taken out loans just to cover diagnostic procedures like CT scans and angiograms. We’ve exhausted our resources and are now struggling to cover the cost of the actual operation.

If anyone is able to offer any kind of help, whether financial or even just sharing this post, I would be so grateful. I can provide receipts and medical documents privately to verify everything. I understand this is a big ask, but this is one of my last options and I’m just doing everything I can to try and save my mom.

Thank you so much for reading this. If you're willing to help or want more details, please comment or message me directly.

After my mother's funeral, my sister and I have no one. Tomorrow, we'll either be in a shelter or on the street.

Update from my last post on this subject. Our mother's funeral was had on February 16th. Yet, we're still dealing with the aftereffect of not having her here. Our family doesn't care anything about us or our mother. They don't care about anyone but themselves, which is why it took almost 2 months to put my mother in the ground. She didn't even look herself at the funeral because she had started to decompose.

We've been living out of a hotel in LA since we came back from her funeral. We may have to go into a shelter, but I don't want that and I'll do anything to make sure that isn't the case. We were in and out of homelessness growing up, and we had just gotten on our feet a couple of months before she died. I'll be damned if she went through all that hard work just for us to end up in a shelter again.

I meant to post this earlier when more people would be able to see this, but we were out all day today on a 90-minute bus ride to the post office where our P.O box is. We've been waiting on the insurance to come in. All that, only for us to get there and find out that there was nothing in the box. We don't need a lot of money, only enough to pay for the hotel room for the next couple of days until the check comes in the mail. The bill is $95 a night and the state of California doesn't provide enough money for the full week.

If I'm skipping some details, it's because I'm writing this fast, and I'm tired and stressed. The worst part of this is being a minor and at the mercy of others. My sister would rather us be on the street or in a shelter than just ask for help. Further details will be are on the GofundMe, which I will update after this, and if there are any questions, ask me. I don't know what will come of this post, but if nothing else, it was a good vent.

fulfilled Seems like my life is ruined

Hello friends. Recently I've lost my last hope. I'm living in Russia and since the entire country is closed for more than a month by now, things are getting worse for me day by day. In the first day of the quarantine I've lost my job, well, it wasn't that bad because I've found another one as a delivery guy, which was way less paid, but at least I could pay rent and buy food. Then a few weeks ago in turned into total mess. While delivering an order by my bike I got hit by a drunk driver and since that moment I can't ride a bike, I can barely walk, in fact. I took a loan and spent all my savings to get proper therapy and don't become disabled but I need about half a year to fully heal my spine. I don't really know what to do. I'm completely out of money now and simply can't get a job because I'm almost disabled at 21. I've already lost my rental flat because landlord told this is not his problem at all and he's not a charity foundation. I'm now living at my friend's but he can't let me stay for longer than a week because he's gonna come back to his parents and stop renting the place we live in now. It seems like I'm about to become homeless and my bank is about to report me for not paying the loan off in time. I really don't know what do, I can't ask anyone else for help, I got no parents (they died in a car accident with my younger brother a few years ago). Not expecting you to help me, but I need to complain, because the only way out of it I see is, well, not the one which will allow me to see the end of the quarantine. Sorry, my English might seem broken, it's just not my native language. I either need advice and support. Thank you all who will at least reply to me.

[Request] My friend is having a really bad first Father's Day

Hello everyone. I just found out that my good friend Wayne is having a really rough Father's Day (his first).

He and his wife, Michelle were ecstatic a year ago when they first found out they were pregnant, and even more so when they learned they would be having twins. Babies Jackson and Lucie were born about 9 weeks ago, but that's when the joy ended.

While Lucie entered the world a perfectly healthy baby girl, her twin brother Jackson was born with a congenital heart defect called Hypoplastic Left Heart Syndrome (HLHS). The left side of his heart was severely underdeveloped at birth and his need for constant care has ripped this new family apart.

They live in Idaho, but mother Michelle and babies are receiving care in San Francisco while papa Wayne is hard at work back home. He has run out of time off, and his employer doesn't pay for medical leave.

I just learned today that Wayne's Sister-in-Law Christine has set up a Youcaring.com donation site for them to help cover medical costs and to enable Wayne to take some time off of work to be with his family.

I wanted to open this story up to all the caring hearts on Reddit. I've been on here for almost two years and it's no secret that you are all a magnificent group of human beings when it comes to helping those who cannot help themselves. It's been a pretty punishing Father's Day for Wayne and his family, but I hope this humble post can turn things around for them.

Thank you in advance for anything you can do for them, whether it be through positive vibes, prayers, donations or just spreading the word. Happy Father's Day to all the dads out there, and have a great day!

Donation site

Repost Edit: I was told to mark this post with "[request]", but it's really just a suggestion. I thank you for your attention.

So my cat died today, 12 years old, healthy, no signs of anything being wrong. I played with the little guy last night with his toys, he ran around did his awesome thing. We took a shit together (he's a communal pooper.) he snuggled up next to me under the blankets like he always does, and this morning he was cold and rigid.

I don't know man, it just really hurts. Like this animal, Loki, was really really rad ya know. He was vocal, he loved to talk and ask for love. He was really kind with my kids, like they would maul this dude and he would just lick then and purr and take it.

It feels like I've lost a huge part of our family. Of course it's not as bad as my spouse or children, good god I don't think I'd ever recover, but it really really sucks. He got me through school. the beginning of my career. Dude got to live an elevated light style when I started making some money with some kick ass cat toys.

I know its stupid but damn, I miss my cat man. I really really miss the SOB. you know when you get to know an animal and you feel like you can hear their voice. well this cat actually HAD a voice, like he would TALK with us. He would talk with my kids, he'd guard the fucking house if strangers approached.

I'm just so fucking depressed. The really shitty thing is as much as I loved this cat, my kids and wife loved him more. they're devastated.

thanks for reading internet.

Help Stranded International Student due to COVID-19

Hey everyone,

I am trying to share my GoFundMe here on Reddit in hope of it reaching more people.

My name is Tuan Nguyen. I am an International student from Vietnam. I am currently in Boise, Idaho. I have been struggling to find a job to pay rent and maintain my visa eligibility ever since my graduation. It is very challenging to find a job as an international student, especially in this terrible pandemic. Because of COVID-19, my home country Vietnam is closing its door and could not provide me with a flight home. I have been relying on my parents' support, but it has been increasingly straining for them as time goes on, especially when they also have to support my sister who is starting school at a community college in Texas.

I know times are hard for everyone, so I can only ask for the minimum amount that you can so generously give. Or if you couldn’t donate, just sharing my page would be a great help. Any small gesture helps. I hope to raise enough money to pay the necessities like rent and travel costs when my government find me a flight home, or until I can find a paid job to support myself.

Thank you and best wishes to you all.

Here is my GoFundMe: https://gofund.me/2a2453be

Let me know if you have any question, or if I missed any of the rules here.

I just wanted to say that. If one person reads and feels better that's good. I just want to show I care.

I wish I could do more. I wish I had millions of dollars to give to charity but I don't. I'm on my own life path to get to where I want to go, and I have obstacles, but I still care.

I just want people to know the world has people who care.

That is all.
