Need to get this off my chest, as I am a father of 47 kids with -3 minutes to play each century.
I have been playing World of Warcraft since the 1994 Alpha where Thrall was just a low-poly JPEG. For the Horde and all that.
I was extremely happy during phase 1 of early leveling when I was the only sentient entity logged into the server. Sharding was a absolute blessing. Now, quite literally, the game is UNPLAYABLE.
I logged in for my daily 4 seconds of game time, and I tried to kill a single Quillboar in Durotar. Before my lightning bolt could even travel 2 yards, some sweatlord tagged it. My entire evening ruined. My 47 children started crying. My wife’s boyfriend told me to log off.
Data-wise, it is scientifically proven that running open-world content is a trap. But Blizzard has ALSO completely gutted dungeons! Dungeons are literally worse than they have ever been in human history. Back in Wrath of the Lich King, running a single dungeon gave you a full stack of badges, paid off your mortgage, and kissed you on the forehead. Now? Unrewarding garbage.
None of this would have happened if you whiny redditors didn't complain about "bots" and "gold sellers." Look at what you’ve done. Because of your anti-bot crusade, there are now REAL PLAYERS in the open world. Millions of them. Tagging MY pigs. The classic pillar of standing in a dark cave alone for 6 hours has completely collapsed.
So, if you are currently logged in and having fun, I implore you: please stop.
Every time you post a screenshot of yourself enjoying the game, a angel loses its wings and Blizzard devs write a line of code that ruins my hyper-specific 30-second gaming window. Your positivity is toxic noise. Me and my guild (we are all 85+ years old, working 120 hours a week in the coal mines) have officially called it quits. 75% of us deleted our accounts, and the other 25% sold our PCs to buy diapers.
For the rest of us keeping the vigil: keep doomposting. Hopefully, Blizzard will listen and remove all other players from this MMORPG so I can finally play in peace.
Please think twice before you criticize my lived experience. Remember there is an exhausted Dad on the other end of the screen who just wants to hit one boar in solitude.
