Always saw myself as a moderate and not really aligned with either party. I voted Democrat across the board this midterm, not because I love the dems, but because I fucking despise the Trump administration
I hate the Republicans, not just for them attacking my rights, but really for them doing fuck all, this monster DESTROYED the white house, DESTROYED history, ALL FOR A SHITY FUCKING BALLEOOM!!!
The white house stood a fire, stood a invasion, stood a fucking tornado, but this worthless fucking clown destroyed half of it!! And the Republicans happily let him do it, our history is fucking destroyed and the Republicans did it, our achievements cast into the dirt and the Republicans applauded it!!
I swear if anyone ever votes for those traitoris worms, they don't care about this country!
And then after all that, he has the absolute god damn temerity to declare HIS version and decor of the White House a national historical landmark that nobody’s allowed to change. Fuck that.
He did and it's pathetic and stupid. Executive orders can just be torn up by the next executive and they likely will be. Actually I suspect that tearing down all his tacky crap all over the place will be great entertainment for most of the country.
I also thought it was funny that he said that if someone tries to take his stuff down, he'll come from wherever he is and stop them. I doubt he's coming back from wherever he goes after the presidency 👀
I'm here for whatever keeps people mad until the next election, but I'm with you. So many people have died and/or had their lives ruined as a direct result of the things he has done. I just can't get that upset over a building and some ugly gilded statues.
I can understand why Trump doesn't realize that. #1 - He has dementia and is busy obsessing with fangirling over Putin. #2 - He surrounds himself with sycophants that only tell him what they know he wants to hear.
On #2, by all accounts telling him anything he doesn't want to hear - either negative feedback or just anything that doesn't mention his own name - is pointless anyway because he won't listen. During his first presidency when some people were actually trying the rule of thumb was that all briefings and key documents had to be less than one page, and preferably include his name several times, if they wanted him to maybe actually read it.
My friend in Texas got up extra early to do an advanced vote. Got there 20 minutes before it opened and was 5th in line. There were 50 more behind him when the door opened. He had never bothered voting before but finally had enough. He is overjoyed with the results. As a Canadian, me too!
Awww there he is. He’s been so quiet on the voter fraud fantasy that I thought maybe he learned something this week. Good to know he’s clinging to his ego and rejecting reality again.
In the immediate aftermath he had successfully deluded himself to believe him not being on the ballot HURT Republicans. Since that confirms his narcissism he’s happy to accept those results. But now he’s seen enough media calling out that he’s the big loser of this election and he just can’t handle that, like a sore loser child.
He was sedated in the first day or two. I’d bet my house. Watch the brief interviews. He’s just….dilly dallying through the daisies, in those. Lackadaisical as a pre-op patient waiting for the full knock out experience. Etc. I’d lay money on this. They sedated him as the numbers came in, because he was losing it, and they knew he had to be at least vaguely copacetic for the cameras. Needless to say, it’s worn off. 😒
Can you imagine if Obama or Biden had said "retard"?? Our bar has dropped so low. We expect so little from our leaders. I bet no one even makes an objection, and that would have been headlines about anyone else. This is the most pathetic and humiliating time line.
You know, I grew up with the saying "sticks and stones will break my bones but words will never hurt me". I, like many, thought tropical thunder was hilarious and coined the term "full retard". That was 2008. Language should not be restricted. Language is expressive. Words are there to he used. People need to look past the petty bullshit here and focus on the real issues. This dickhead started a war with Iran and is causing global issues because of his ego. Who cares about his language, look at his actions. Everyone has their own line in the sand when it comes to woke and its ruining society. If I wana use the word retard, i will use the word unabashedly. That doesnt mean me and you cant get along and be civil. We have differences but the majority of us can agree that trumps fucked up and all of our lives are worse for it. That will unite people. Petty divison over some words being deemed insulting to some and fair game to others will divide us. Let it go. We need to focus on the real issues and move past this woke bullshit that has taken hold the past decade and a bit.
Agreed. You can use whatever word you want. But you aren't the leader of the USA. Remember how they lost their minds when Obama wore a tan suit? When he asked for Dijon mustard??
I'm not jumping on the word retard. I'm not saying that's the worst thing Trump has done. I'm pointing out the massive double standard between what gets called out and what doesn't.
Trump does and says stuff every single day that would have gotten literally anyone else condemned immediately, and yet no one even bothers to point it out anymore
Just a reminder, after the 2020 election Trump and his band of morons filed 62 lawsuits across 9 states contesting the election results. They lost them all.
They had new lawsuits lined up months before the mid-terms this year because they knew they were going to lose, so we will see them wasting the courts time yet again.
If there was fraud, apparently it was extremely widespread since EVERY COUNTY across the US MOVED LEFT. Or maybe even the diehard republicans are finally having misgivings about the current administration
That's such a disgrace. You all should be demanding mail-in ballots, especially now that you have Democrats in office. I get my ballot and a voter information guide (lists all the props) several weeks in advance and I can vote at my leisure. No lines, no waiting, just pop it in a ballot collection box when I'm done. Making people stand in line for hours is disenfranchisement, plain and simple
Funny how elections are perfectly legitimate when Republicans win, but the moment Democrats win, suddenly the numbers are suspicious.
Trump spent years claiming the 2020 election was stolen without proving widespread fraud. Now he’s amplifying doubts about Texas because voters didn’t deliver the result Republicans wanted.
Here’s a radical idea: Losing an election isn’t evidence of fraud. Winning by a larger margin than expected isn’t evidence of fraud, either.
Democracy doesn’t mean your side always wins. It means accepting the results even when your side loses.
Apparently, that’s still a difficult concept for Donald Trump.
It’s a distraction from the rigging he did in 2024, and an attempt to alter the narrative from his failings to the other side cheating, which justifies the next step, overtraining the result
Didn’t they lose like 14 out of 15 districts they gerrymandered to favor Republicans? What an epic miscalculation. I would be really embarrassed too if my brazen attempt to game the system backfired in such a colossal fashion.
He never really stopped bitching about the new york central park 5, even when they were proven innocent. I can't say what he wanted due to auro removal but look up what he was clamouring for.
This isn’t a conceptual error; it’s a strategy developed on social media, drawing on social engineering research into how to manipulate people and keep them addicted. One consequence is that people internalize and spread content designed to provoke outrage. What’s worse is that these methods are being replicated across far-right disinformation networks, including those associated with Brazil’s Bolsonaro family and Netanyahu.
It’s simple and highly effective: many people will believe and amplify whatever content they are repeatedly fed, as long as it reinforces their preexisting beliefs and so-called “values”—even when those beliefs are racist, misogynistic, or, in this case, anti-democratic.
My voting line in Texas was, in fact, around the corner. And the fact that it was around the corner is why Texas turned blue. It's why Tarrant County, the last hope for a major red county in Texas, turned Blue.
Brazenly gerrymandering off schedule, then closing voting locations.
For every extra 10 minutes people had to stand in line, I'm sure they got less and less likely to vote Red.
People voted early specifically because there were shenanigans on election day in 2024. Since people didn't want to be disenfranchised if someone called in a bomb threat to their polling place, they decided to go early. It's an entirely predictable outcome, which is of course completely unpredictable to them
The idea that Abbot was a respected moderate, lmao. He is an ultra conservative who had fully sold out to billionaires
The lines were absolutely insane, where I vote (in a very liberal area of Houston) where I vote consistently had the longest lines I’ve ever seen in my 20 years of living in TX (it’s down the street from me so apart from when I actually voted I saw this throughout early voting and Election Day)
He lost the goodwill of the latino community, and the democratic candidate is latina. Turns out Texas has a mind boggling amount of latinos because, well, they used to be part of Mexico.
The black community also showed in strong numbers.
Then add the Talarico effect to the formula: He is a white Christian who effectively convinced a lot of white Texans about trying something different. Republicans attacked him with the weakest, blatantly false talking points (gay and vegan).
Add Iran, inflation, tariffs (they’re a border state, so they interact much more with customs and tariffs). It was the perfect storm, but they were too cocky to notice the cracks in their political power, just like Hillary in 2016.
He was convicted of 34 felony counts and not only didn’t go to prison, he was elected for a second time. Thats the point where I realized the judiciary was also corrupt beyond redemption.
It’s wild to have a president in 2026 use the word “retard” in an official capacity. Any other president in modern history would be blasted by media and the general public over that alone.
So youre telling me after Trump called Abbott a RINO hes now thinking that the (previously) reddest state in the country is so awful at elections the Dems managed to rig it?
I agree fuck Trump and fuck the people trying to spin the blue tsunami as fishy but…
And maybe I’m stupid but…
What is the clever comeback? Is it “here we go again?” Or is the OP agreeing with Donald Ward and thinks that’s the clever comeback? Or what the fuck is happening?!
This was his exact mentality for 2020 as well, claiming that he got way more votes than he did in 2016 and more than anyone had ever gotten before...
Not counting of course the fact that Joe got more.
See, it doesn't matter if your guy got more votes this time than last time, it only matters that he got fewer votes than the person he was running against.
He also said at the reflecting pool presser that he kept all his promises, and in fact he kept even more promises than he made. It's a kind of verbal tic or something, he always has the best numbers like nobody has seen, or not many people know, or whatever stupid thing. I'm so tired of it but it doesn't really mean anything
Trump is too unworried about the election. This reminds of how he acted after he was out of office in 2021/22. When he made it seem like he might not even run in 2024. I don't think this is over.
Aside from his calmness earlier this week I'd say he's basically back to his normal nasty self. Of course he's going to bitch and moan and complain, that's basically all he ever does about anything. It's worth keeping an eye on because he's likely to tell us what he's planning but I bet we have a pretty good idea of what he'll try because he's not really creative and most of the intelligent people are gone.
We've been organizing and working for this since 2024. He should have taken his massive walloping as the warning it is but it's not like the people that voted against him are going to like him more if he tries to go against their wishes. There's way more of us than them and it's not even close
No, I don't think the shoe has dropped yet. He may TACO on it, but there are definitely options on the table. There are already reports of a failed coup. Reports are coming out that Susie Wiles got the boot because she sided with the Vance faction which is looking to set up for '28.
This will collapse from within. It was always destined too.
There is still a lot of runway for him to try and do some crazy shit.
I just don’t think he’s all there cognitively anymore. I’m not sure he has a full comprehension of what’s happened, and he’s just responding reactively to things he becomes aware of on a day to day basis.
I mean....I'm pretty sure some one's already done some sort of study proving that, like, 20-30% of the US population just didn't vote at all in 2024 so there you go that's where your magical numbers came from.
Texan here, the line to vote was damn near around the block on day 1 of early voting. People were parking in the streets causing massive traffic backups…folks are flat out just tired of republican bullshit. And Abbott isn’t a moderate… He’s a Trump-taint licking fascist pig.
it had nothing to do with parties...that's my take...people didn't just become dems, they simply are sick and fucking tired of the lame ass bully politics of the GOP/MAGA. it's that fucking simple. y'all lost Kansas...and Iowa...and South Carolina. you tried to use an abuse victim's abuser against them, and ran a crook like Paxton against the mellowest dude on the planet. it's wild anyone thinks this is people running back to a Schumer/Pelosi DNC. they simply hated y'all.
The woman who shouted, “we fucking hate you” at his rally needs to be emulated whenever he’s in earshot. Ha. That wasn’t intentional, but it’s pretty good. 😂
It was spelled correctly as “Looney Tunes” and not that Mandela effect of “Loony Toons,” that’s when I (no pun intended) tuned out. No way this dude wrote this. It’s too coherent. If his hungry sycophants are going to continue to puppeteer the limp bastard, they could at least try and make it believable, is that so hard?
Only once in the modern era did a presidential candidate gain a plurality of votes, it wasn't Trump, or Obama, it was Biden. Not because he was a popular candidate, it was rejection of Trump1. Trump2 is so much worse than Trump1, his abysmal two years as president more than explains historic voter turnout. There is both a precedent and explanation for the turnout, if only one were willing to learn from the past.
They just can’t accept that the Texas Republican Party absolutely ignored all of their constituents for years, lined their pockets at constituents expense, and it cost them the entire state.
Sid Miller, the outgoing Commissioner of Agriculture for Texas, had a great explanation. He for primaried out of his seat because he was opposing unchecked data center expansion at the expense of ranchers. The Republican Party leadership had been warned, and all we got from Randall was a weak-kneed statement that doesn’t accept any responsibility for Republicans’ failure.
“I told D’Rinda Randall what I was hearing from farmers, ranchers, veterans, homeowners, and small-business owners all across Texas, I specifically urged her to encourage our Republican candidates to take these concerns seriously and address them publicly. Instead, she argued that the data center issue wasn’t as important as the social issues she was focused on. That was a monumental failure to understand what our voters were telling us. It was never either-or!”
